We’re located along two miles of riverfrontage, deep in the heart of the Monongahela National Forest. Winter brings great local skiing and snowboarding. Come and spend a quiet weekend in your own heated cabin, complete with pellet stoves. Spring and summer bring fishing, tubing, hiking, the WV Mountain Rail train rides, and many more outdoor activities. We are a great retreat any time of year!

We have facilities available year-round, comfortable cabins complete with heat, a full kitchen, hot tubs, and bathroom facilities, perfect for a getaway. Campers are welcome to use our heated bath house in winter.

Enjoy our family's 32 acre eco-wonder property that features forested mountain walking trails, two small ponds, seasonal waterfall, and the Potomac River that runs through it. Perfect private retreat for nature enthusiasts, writers, artists, musicians, contemplatives, and small families. MountainTop got its namesake over 30 years ago for the small mountain plateau that resides at the top of the property, just a short hike from the cabins and campsites. One can easily find the soothing voice of water nearby at the seasonal waterfall or alongside the flowing river. Rejuvenate with friends, families, nature lovers, and contemplatives. Mountaintop offers superb stargazing, swimming, fishing, hiking, strenuous mountain biking, camping, serenity, peace, and connective nature immersion. 

There are currently three sites: the MountainTop Cabin (sleeps up to 4); the Retreat Cabin (sleeps up to 4): and the Fern Grove campsite (sleeps up to 4). You can book a cabin or the campsite for your family, or the whole place for a small group by booking each site--that will ensure privacy. Last year we hosted  wellness retreats for small groups at this little oasis tucked in the mountains of gorgeous West Virginia.

Camp Holly

Join the fun at our 22-acre campground. We offer cabins, full-service RV sites, and back-country camping nestled in the heart of the West Virginia mountains at the confluence of the Holly River and Grassy Creek overlooking our stocked three-acre fishing pond. Conveniently located near the best outdoor recreation in Appalachia: Fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, trail riding, and climbing. 

Festivals and beautiful day trips on winding roads abound. Music lovers enjoy music on our pondside stage, or you can rent it for your own special event. Find an entertainment schedule and a list of amenities on our website. Kids will love our goats, chickens, ducks, paddle boats, and recreation area with a climbing dome. Visit our camp store for onsite bait + tackle, a specialty hotdog, or WV souvenir. Come relax and enjoy Camp Holly!

****Please note that in winter months the property is subject to freezing during very cold weather.  This may effect water availability in the cabins and bathhouse.  

The Renovated Barn at Seneca Rocks

The Renovated Barn at Seneca Rocks is an actual barn, located on a little farm, complete with farm animals! Goats, chickens, peacocks, ducks, and a pig live at the other side of the barn. The Barn is located on a one acre lot, shared with the host's home. I give guests privacy while they are here, but I do come out to the barnyard twice a day to feed and tend the animals. The property is very close to many outdoor recreation areas such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, and Canaan Valley where visitors can rock climb, hike, zipline, ski, etc, etc! *Adults aged 18 and older only, sorry no exceptions. The property is pet friendly for a charge of $10 per pet, per night (to be left in cash on departure).

In the Barn is a Queen Bed, sitting area, TV with Netflix, Bathroom with hot water, and small cooking area (coffee maker, microwave, electric kettle, electric stovetop, toaster, and small refrigerator.) There is also a gas grill on the deck. All towels & Linens, and Basic kitchenware included. 

Sweetwater Farm Trail Center

With multiple campsites, car camping, and remote primitive sites, there are plenty of options for your next adventure. Located on 600 acres, we have developed the previously used agriculture land into a trail center in hopes of transforming the property from an underutilized farm into a facility that could support local outdoor recreation use and programming. Currently there are 14 miles of purpose built trails, with plans to install up to 30 miles of natural surface trails that will create access to and feature the natural beauty of the property, which includes open meadows, mature hardwood forests, rock outcroppings, an area of volcanic activity, seven freshwater springs, headwater streams (including Brook Trout habitat), and three distinct knobs. These features provide a rich and unique landscape for a trail system. With so much here, there is no need to leave the property. But if you’d like, we are sandwiched between the Monongahela and George Washington National Forests. An outdoor enthusiasts dream.

Camping at Lazy River Farm

Lazy River Farm has so much to offer. Tents sites are in a wooded setting, on a beautiful hill, spread out for privacy. Not at the river.  Camp sites also have fire rings with wood available for you to use. Campers are welcome to use any wood that's on the ground near or around your site.  Camp sites can be accessed with a high clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle  or walk up the hill to your site. With easy access  down to the river, by walking or driving, you can cool off in the beautiful Cow Pasture River.  

Glamping in the Vardo Wagon is another option, with its close proximity to the river and cozy interior. The Gypsy Rose sleeps 2, but can sleep 2 additional guests with a tent.

Paddle boards and kayaks are available for free if you paddling near the farm. (Life jackets are limited but are required, so if you have one bring it) drop in a line to fish, or simply sit by the river and listen to the soft  rapids.  

 Lazy River Farm is a working farm, with lovely Scottish Highland Cattle, pigs, chickens, horses and livestock guardian dogs..  Your welcome to come and pet the animals. Do not feed animals. Do not go into fields or stalls with any of them.

 Nearby there are vineyards and breweries, the beautiful historic Masonic Theater, C&O heritage center, miles of back roads to explore, as well as local restaurants. Contact us directly for a full range of what we have to offer, or have questions regarding any site.

Spruce Mountain Cabins

In 2008, we built the first cabin on this property. We really enjoyed hosting guests so we built two more cabins on the same property! Our latest addition is a glamping tent! We love people and find joy in the mission of giving weary travelers a comfortable place in nature to relax and rejuvenate. Life gets pretty taxing at times, we know! Spending time in nature with a loved one is the perfect medicine for a stressed soul.

Snowshoe Valley Farms & Camping

Close to Snowshoe Mountain, at only 1 mile drive from the entrance to Snowshoe Mountain Resort. 

This is a great spot for mountain bikers and river lovers. So close to snowshoe and affordable makes this an easy decision. Also the wildlife, flowers, and river on the property make this a truly powerful place. There is some traffic and noise from the road but it quiets down through the night and all you can hear is the trickle of the stream. 

We have a lovely 20 acre are that has easy to pull up to camp sites and some that take a short walk but are able to camp right near the river bed. We offer camping for all ranges of groups and travelers. We have campsites for tents, cars and vans, big RV's and Trailers, and then group sized sites. Please contact us and we can accommodate you in any size or style. We have cheap options for the solo and travelers on budgets and we have some nice options to get furnished tents and private fireplaces, with private river views and beach/play areas.

Riverwood

Located on the Jackson River with views of Alleghany Mountains up and down valley. Great catch and release fly fishing, star gazing, bird and other nature watching. Located 15 minutes South of Monterey VA and 20 North of Hot Springs VA (where historic hot springs and Homestead resort are located). Come visit and enjoy the beauty. Note, no cell phone service on property. Service available mile south of property on 220 and 5 miles north of property on 220. 

Maples abound and maple syrup farms nearby. 

Beautiful old Maples, Sycamores and Oaks. 

The property has wetlands in from the river that offers solitude to migrating birds, deer, turtles, bobcats and more. 

The Trout Camp

Welcome to The Trout Camp, aka Fontinalis Farms, a small, family-owned campground nestled beside the Monongahela National Forest on the banks of Big Run and The North Fork River. Our spacious site offers 30 acres to explore, with 15 tent sites and annual RV sites available for reservation.  Kids under 16 are free! (just don't count them in your booking)

Our campground features a convenient shower house with well water and flush toilets, but we do ask that you bring your own drinking water. Take a dip in the river, cast a line and fish, or simply relax in the serene surroundings.
