Conscious camping a mile from Sutton Lake Dam in West Virginia. Our campground serves as the perfect retreat. A place to unwind, with minimal to no traffic. Off a backroad, with a few creek crossings along the way. You know you are really out in nature. Our property offers lots of places to hike, although in the heart of summer, it can get a little overgrown (Plus critters, yikes!) The creek that runs up the Holler is the perfect place to explore. Low enough to tromp around and catch some minnows.
The real winner is Kookie's homecooked meals available for purchase. Using the best ingredients around. Often organic and locally sourced. We can sell eggs, make traditional Spanish bread, offer various treats, homemade delicious ice cream, or even prepare full meals for your crew! Check out our 'Extra's for ordering.
Whether you are here to relax and unwind, or enjoy the wild outdoor adventures such as kayaking and hiking. Lots of horseback riding opportunities, or take a walk along the Elk River Trail. We are a working farm and do have a flock of Chickens and Guinea fowl. We also are very Kitty friendly here. Unfortunately no dogs permitted at the 'Fairyland' property. However, you can keep your friendly dog on our 'Down the Holler' site.
There is always a friendly animal to visit with. Please make sure you are respectful to our home and animals.
Keep in mind, the creek can run high in bad weather, so I recommend an all wheel drive car, or with high clearance. That being said, small cars will get through when the creek is down.
This is primitive camping. No toilet or shower our amenities are available.

We loved this Hipcamp! It was clean, private, and had everything we needed. Our little one enjoyed her adventures around the property and meeting the owners and I enjoyed the quiet. They left beautiful flowers on the picnic table that attracted butterflies the entire time we were there. We are definitely hoping to come back!
