1 night at Wild Goats Farm LLC

Oh my goodness!!! All of the sweet animals were so fun to interact with and educational too! Julie was so kind and opened up her farm to us to enjoy freely. My 14 and 7 year old boys loved playing in the creek, having a bonfire, and snuggling the animals. The driveway was a little intimidating but we had no issues in our 26 ft camper!!! Well marked with signs once you get closer which was super helpful. If we're ever back in the area, we'd definitely stay there again!!!

Weekend Trip to River Trail Hollow

This site is a hidden gem!! So quiet and peaceful. Can walk right to the greenbrier river trail and to the ‘beach’ on the greenbrier river. The site had plenty of space. Our boys loved the creek and we enjoyed night walks after dinner around the loop of the campground. Central to everything we wanted to see and left wanting to stay longer. Already looking into when we can go back. Our whole family agreed it was our favorite spot to date.

Great place !!!! Firewood on site was awesome !!! Was expecting a cold shower but to my surprise, hot shower !!!!

Campground is clean and organized into different camping spots, with plenty of room between each spot. Really nice to have hot showers and a place to wash hands. Outhouses are dispersed throughout the campground making them easy to reach from any camping spot. Fishing on the Greenbrier River is great. Swimming, tubing and kayaking are also popular. Steps away from the Greenbrier River Trail.

2 nights at Arrowhead Bike Farm & Campground

We had a great time at Arrowhead Farm! The RV site met all expectations. The restaurant was fun and the beer cold. It was also in walking distance to Long Point trail which was a huge plus. We would stay again!

Amazing place, an d out the gate they were super accommodating in rectifying my boneheaded botching of the booking dates. The place itself is incredible with all amenities at arms length, including on-premise foot trails AND a great restaurant with tap beers!! HIGHLY recommended.

1 night at Arrowhead Bike Farm & Campground

We loved using the RV parking at Arrowhead. We were able to do plenty of bike trails that were in close proximity to the property. Long point trail had an amazing lookout point! We also enjoyed having a restaurant & bar onsite. The goats and pump track were highlights for our 10 yr old. The property is very chill and hangout friendly. We only spent one night here, passing thru town. We would like to come back and stay for a few days, so we have time to do more of the outdoor adventures the area offers.

Weekend Trip to Camp Peak + Pine -- A Lakeside Nook

This stay was incredible! Elle goes above and beyond keeping the site perfect, as well as providing amenities beyond what I've usually found at hip camps. She gave us some great recommendations about the area too! 20 minutes to New River Gorge NP bridge entrance and rafting. Multiple state parks less than five min away the feature some great rock climbing, swimming, and cliff jumping. If you're concerned about being close to the building or other property, don't be. Your space is very secluded and tucked away down a hill. Our only visitor was the local neighborhood cat, and he was great company. Driveway is a little steep, but I have a little Honda Civic that is plenty low to the ground and had no issues. Will absolutely be back.

We had an excellent time camping for a week. Staff was very nice and answered questions promptly. I would recommend camping here.

1 night at Camp Peak + Pine -- A Lakeside Nook

Peak + pine was totally lovely! I loved how close it was to lake access and Fayetteville (only about a 20-minute drive). The camp itself was well-equipped with the essentials and everything I needed — even a sweet coffee station and bug spray. As a solo traveler I felt at ease that the host’s home was nearby and Elle was eager to help with anything I needed. I will definitely be back during my stays in the area!!

2 nights at Possum Holler Camp- New River Gorge

We thoroughly enjoyed escaping the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. We were thrilled to bring our two large dogs with us and enjoy the creek and the beauty of WV nature. We had several trees to choose from to hang our hammocks and plenty of room to put up our tents. You can hear the creek water trickling as you relax near the fire pit. There was a tote with items that were helpful and a grill as well as bundles of firewood that could easily be purchased. Check in and out was amazing as we did not have to meet with anyone. We were able to enjoy our short stay without worrying about neighboring campers which was the experience we were needing and hoping for.

Weekend Trip to River Trail Hollow

A two minute walk to the greenbrier river to swim, with rock beach water access. Hot showers, a sink for dishes, clean portajons. We had one of the 4(?) sites right on the Stamping Creek and it was perfect to fall asleep to. I would definitely love to stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Wild Goats Farm LLC

This was our first time we used Hipcamp and we stayed at the Wild Goat Farm.We were extremely impressed! The owner Julie and her Husband were very nice and so helpful and gracious,their farm was wonderful! We got to get close to the animals and pet them! We loved it and will definitely go again.

Weekend Trip to River Trail Hollow

This place is really special! The creek and river access were perfect for me and my pup. Site 1 is close to the entrance so you so get some noise from the gate and the public boat ramp seems to be a Saturday night party spot for locals, so having earplugs was nice. They fireflies are so spectacular. Pick up a copy of Night Magic by Leigh Ann Henion before you go and you'll find all the magic in the darkness this campsite has to offer!

We absolutely loved site 7. The creekside camp was beautiful. You can relax to the sound of the creek flowing calmly throughout the night. The showers were clean as well as the site. It was nice to have our first bunk of wood included and more nearby. Thank you for this great place. We will be back!

3 nights at Gesundheit! Institute - Patch Adams

My wife and I tent camped for a few nights. The site surrounded by mountains is beautiful and peaceful. Ducks and geese in the lake. An absolutely stunning waterfall just a 5 minute walk away. A meandering hillside trail perfectly shaded and teaming with mushrooms, deer, rabbits, and other wildlife. Several very friendly dogs also paid us a visit. This restorative retreat was exactly what we didn’t know we needed. Can’t wait to introduce the kids to this gem. The surrounding area was also a treat, with the Beartown boardwalk trail, the Greenbrier river where we went swimming everyday at the pebble covered beach. The Amish farm market where we had breakfast Saturday morning and so so much more. We honestly can’t wait to go back. If I could post pictures in this review I would.

3 nights at Possum Holler Camp- New River Gorge

Things we loved: - Firewood onsite - Easy access to creek - Rhododendrons in bloom everywhere - Shaded with dappled light - 5 min drive to New River Gorge Visitor Center - Tarp covering over picnic table - Each tent site was tucked away between the trees with pathways in between. Enough privacy between tents but still felt close enough to others. Things to be aware of: - Road to site is very steep. Everyone who joined in sedans parked at the top of the hill. People with SUVs and trucks parked at the campsite. - Road to get to site is a little narrow. Just be careful and be prepared to pull off if need be! It’s about 1.5 cars wide.

Peak + Pine provides shade and a sense of tranquility. Rest at your campsite or venture off to the crags (very close to the Meadow and the Lake) or nearby hiking trails. We are just minutes from Battle Run Boat Launch, Gauley River put-in, and beautiful views at the Summersville Dam. Drive just a mere 5 minutes and explore or picnic at Carnifex Ferry State Park -- they have the best panoramic river view! Check out Ample Pizza and Freefolk Brewery -- just a quick 12 minute drive -- and halfway to the National Park! We are a quick trip to the New River Gorge National Park (about 15 miles) and just a twenty minute drive from downtown Fayetteville (most importantly -- Rangefinder coffee, Rosa's Speakeasy Bar and Garden, and Wood Iron Cafe). Explore Fayette Station where you can find a river front beach, waterfalls, and hiking trails. We offer the perfect spot to relax with your friends or family. Pups are totally welcome -- they must be leashed. Please note that the steep sloping hill behind camp that goes down to the lake is NOT our property but the Army Corps. Please see our link to Army Corps / Summersville Lake rules and regulations. This campsite is adjacent to our home and our neighbor's a-frame! We are mindful of camper's privacy so we do not use that backside of our home while we have campers. You have full access to "The Peak + Pine Loop" which begins at the top of the shared driveway / porta-potty to the entire forest campsite area to the amenity station. When entering and exiting the property you may find us gardening or sitting on our front porch watching the sunset. Need something? Shoot us a message and we are happy to try to accommodate. Property was owned by my great grandfather , He lost 150 acres in the early 1900's due to a bad debt from neighboring landowner. Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. Have seen several bald eagles on and around the property.

Close to Snowshoe Mountain, at only 1 mile drive from the entrance to Snowshoe Mountain Resort. This is a great spot for mountain bikers and river lovers. So close to snowshoe and affordable makes this an easy decision. Also the wildlife, flowers, and river on the property make this a truly powerful place. There is some traffic and noise from the road but it quiets down through the night and all you can hear is the trickle of the stream. We have a lovely 20 acre are that has easy to pull up to camp sites and some that take a short walk but are able to camp right near the river bed. We offer camping for all ranges of groups and travelers. We have campsites for tents, cars and vans, big RV's and Trailers, and then group sized sites. Please contact us and we can accommodate you in any size or style. We have cheap options for the solo and travelers on budgets and we have some nice options to get furnished tents and private fireplaces, with private river views and beach/play areas. Camp at the Main Circle near our home trailer, cabana, and bonfire area, with access to electricity and Wi-Fi. For a more rustic experience, Kolb Field offers a peaceful spot along Coon Creek, shaded by a majestic walnut tree. You’re also welcome to camp almost anywhere on the property to find your perfect spot. A lightly traveled public dirt road runs through our property. While an SUV or 4x4 is recommended, regular cars can access the site, and we have parking for standard vehicles. Please check with us in advance if you plan to bring an RV. Our farm is a great destination for overland camping—perfect for getting your truck a little dirty! We are cautiously dog-friendly. Our farm dogs patrol the property to protect our free-roaming animals, so visiting dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and comfortable around other animals. If you're unsure about compatibility, please reach out for advice. Our dogs will come to your camp to "check you out". If your dog has a problem with other dogs that are new to them you must let us know so we can control our dogs. We have had people come with problem dogs and not tell us so, we are asking for a $1 extra that we now require as a pet fee. While you're here, visit our local businesses in Gassaway. At Bigfoot Braxxie's Bikes, you can rent a bike and explore the 40-mile Elk River Rail Trail. Trailhead Farm Meats & More offers our farm-raised, all-natural meats and other local products.
