We are 10 minutes from the Potomac River, 10 minutes from Opequon Creek, 20 from Antietam Creek and 30 minutes from the Shenandoah River. Harper's Ferry is 30 minutes way and downtown Historic Shepherdstown is just down the road.
We are also close to several state parks.
- What do we mean by "RUSTIC" ?
The camping experience we offer is about unplugging from the modern world , getting back to basics, slowing down and re-connecting with the land. Simply put, this is CAMPING .... not glamping. (Our Cosmic Cottage is also rustic, despite the amenities that come with it).
- CAMPSITES and TREEHOUSE - No electricity or wifi on the land. Campsites and TREEHOUSE are nestled in the woods. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees.
- SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to.
- RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. We will make every effort to respond to you within a few hours. Please be patient and you will receive a response.

- Feel free to wander through the herb gardens, eat your meals in the garden pavilion (we have picnic tables there and hammocks), get your Zen on in the meditation hut , and stroll through the woodland medicine path where we grow endangered and at at risk plant plants. (heads up.. the woodland medicine path goes to seed by the Fall and is usually munched down by the deer by then, but is still a nice short stroll in the woods).

Brooklyn Heights Riverfront Campground
Slow down among the forests and river scenery of Tucker County, West Virginia. Our 36-acre campground has approximately 2,100 feet of Dry Fork River frontage, with wooded campsites, riverfront gathering spots and year-round stays near Parsons and Monongahela National Forest.
CHOOSE YOUR STAY
Pitch a tent in the forest, gather at a riverfront campsite, or choose a rustic cabin, the Bohemian Bus Retreat, our wood-stove tipi, or RiverCamp Lodge with its two glamping tents. RV1–RV4 offer electric and seasonal water hookups; RV6–RV10 are primitive RV sites without hookups. The former RV5 location is now RiverCamp Lodge.
Riverfront sites have different group limits: RF1 includes eight guests with a maximum of 12; RF2 includes 10 with a maximum of 16; RF3 includes six with a maximum of eight. The Bus has eight indoor sleeping spaces across two buses. The tipi has four cots, with outdoor tent space for additional registered guests. Check each listing for its sleeping arrangements, included guest allowance, total capacity and extra-guest charges.
RIVER DAYS AND FOREST EVENINGS
Enjoy the designated river access areas, fishing, wading, swimming, tubing and kayaking when conditions allow. Bring your hiking boots and bikes to explore nearby trails and the Hendricks pedestrian swinging bridge. River levels and currents change with rainfall; supervise children and choose activities appropriate to the conditions.
SHARED FACILITIES
Campground porta-potties and the Coffee Pavilion are available to guests. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate cost $2 per cup. The wood-fired sauna is booked separately, and firewood is available for purchase. Water systems are winterized November 1–April 15; plan accordingly and review your listing’s water details. Parsons is approximately four miles away for shopping and dining.
ARRIVAL AND GOOD NEIGHBOR GUIDELINES
Check-in begins at 12 noon; checkout is by 10 AM Follow the arrival instructions for your reserved site. Quiet hours are 10 PM–8 AM Pets must be leashed and supervised. Use designated fire rings, follow burn restrictions, and fully extinguish fires. Expect natural slopes, roots, rocks and changing ground conditions throughout this woodland campground.

Mushroom Trail featuring full size DoDo birds and giant connect 4 game is now open and free to all guests. Our private roads are in great shape. We are located 10 minutes from the interstate and Winterplace Ski Resort and just 20 minutes from New River Gorge State Park. Corn hole boards, swings, campsite cookers and chairs are provided.
Want to see 5 star panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains? This ultra-safe, ultra-private property is located only 10 minutes off interstate 77. There is only one farm past ours so road traffic is very minimal. Plenty of room to do what you and your pets want to do while exploring our 60 acres. The sun rises up behind the view and lets you see just a little further. It is nothing short of amazing. The sunrises are always different and some are the most beautiful you have ever seen. The mornings sunrise and the stars out here on a clear night are two of the best things this mountain has to offer. It will not disappoint. We can accommodate up to a 35ft RV. The best part is no long walks, you can park at the campsites and camp on flat ground. Each campsite features chairs, a bench, a swing and a camp cooktop that is fueled by your campfire. Nothing is needed to use the cook tops other than a campfire. The local area has lots to do. Several National Parks, rivers and trails. View stars as only those miles away from any light can experience. The crickets and whippoorwills will sing you to sleep. Google link, trail map, and campsite location map will be emailed the day before arrival. The onsite Porta John is cleaned every month.
Prior to the first family inhabiting this gravel road it was used as a bird sanctuary. To this day, the entire road maintains one of the most diverse displays of Appalachian aviary wildlife.

We spent a wonderful weekend taking in the scenery of the Shenandoah at Chord Camp (see the app) near Harpers Ferry, Va. Mike our host went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. He was friendly, welcoming and always available if needed. He’s currently expanding the site to accommodate more RVs and it’s exciting to see the improvements underway. If you’re looking for a relaxing get away near Harpers Ferry keep Camp Chord in mind come next spring. You won’t be disappointed.

We rode the Greenbrier River trail 10 years ago, camping all along the way and back again…. older and wiser we came in our little camper van and found the perfect place to stay , it was magic. What a find, peaceful, clean as a whistle , toilets, showers, water, a campsite kitchen area , firewood and the beautiful night sky with no interference. I was delighted to see several comets. Steve communicated well, we had a wonderful time. I wish it wasn’t so late in the year, I will have to wait until next year to return.

Quiet, Clean bathroom, nice outdoor shower, right off the bike path. Right off mile marker 46 on the Greenbriar River Trail. About 20 miles from Sharps Tunnel and 16 miles from Droop Mountain Tunnel. This has to be one of the best locations for the bike trail.
No lights in the park; it was neat. You can really see the stars. Site 7 was awesome. Right by the brook, and there was a swing to hang out by the water.

This was my second time back to Fourth moon and it was just as spectacular as the first. Such a gorgeous spot, especially with all the fall colors. Wade's done a great job with the place, from all the little swings placed in the right place to the absolutely next level tree fort -- I can't wait to come back!

Going into this campsite we were really just expecting a place to park our camper, a 31' travel trailer, and maybe have water and power. Boy were we surprised. We ended up with both and then some. John met us at check in and is probably one of the friendliest, laid back people you will ever meet. He gave me the basics and then provided the real information, like where to see the best views on the property, etc. We got set up and just admired the scenery that afternoon, That night it was nice and peaceful with hardly any noise. The next day we explored the property and took in the sights of nature. That evening we sat under the stars and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Sunday John came up and checked on us and gave us some more useful information and basically treated us like family. If you are looking for the RV resort feel, this is not your place. If you want to have some peace and quiet and be treated like a family member, this is the place you want to go. Plenty of room for off-grid or tent camping if you want. We are already planning our next visit and hope to stay a little longer.

I loved my stay at the cabin. The lake is gorgeous, the cabin was super cozy (even during very cold October nights - the host provided a little propane space heater so we were warm & cozy), and the hosts were kind enough to show us the farm animals. Really special spot, and one I look forward to returning to in the summer months when it’s warm enough to jump in the lake.

This was a great camping spot. Very highly recommend. I have already told a couple of friends what a great spot this is.
I started texting Tommy a few days prior to our arrival and he was always very responsive. He met us when we arrived and told us he was around if we needed anything.
Our spot was very private and quiet along the woods. There were some other people in the other campsite, but we couldn’t really hear them and couldn’t see them.
The site had a little slope, but there were some blocks of wood there to use to get leveled. Most of our camping is dispersed in the national forests, so we are accustomed to doing this.

We loved our time at Brooklyn Heights! Vince was an awesome host and has set up the camp so well. We loved having tons of firewood available to purchase and the 24/7 coffee shed. We stayed at site C3 and think it’s the best combination of woods and proximity to the river. We’ll definitely come back!

Great site! The host was out of town during my stay, but still very responsive and helpful. Made for a great WV solo trip camping out of my 4Runner on the river!

With kids
My 4 and 8-yr old daughters and I had a wonderful time at Sistermoon farm! It was a cold night, but Maria added extra layers and we were warm and cozy in the bed & tent. Maria was really responsive and so thoughtful - we had everything we needed. It was a short drive to Shepherdstown and about 20 mins from Harper's Ferry, so lots to explore in the surroundings. We had such a fun and memorable stay. We'll be back!!
