1 night at River Mountain Meadow

This was a fantastic spot tucked away on the back acreage of a private home at the end of a quiet road. With only two campsites on the property, there was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Our German Shepherd, Trooper, loved having the room to run and play freely. We even had a few friendly visits from the neighbor’s cows on the other side of the fence—an unexpected treat! The location is also incredibly convenient. Just minutes from charming Battle Ground with its fun vintage shops, and only 20 minutes to Vancouver or 30 minutes to Portland. It’s the perfect mix of quiet countryside and suburban access. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a quiet retreat with room to roam.

Weekend Trip to River Mountain Meadow

Secluded campsite off the road and up the hill. Beautifully replanted after storm damage. Mind the saplings while maneuvering around the camping area. The drive to/from this area is also a treat.

Perfect little spot for camping that Karissa has! Private, easy to access. Enjoyed waking up to the sounds of farm life and fresh eggs for breakfast.

Great spot to camp! Beautiful campsites with plenty of space, shade, and close to pond (we stayed in #4). Host, Brad, was very welcoming and gave us a layout of his peaceful property. Our family had a great time, relaxing around the fire pit, walking the trails and feeding the fish/salamanders in the pond.

The moment we arrived, we knew we made the right choice. Laura's place is set in a well maintained, quiet, gated community. The camp sight feels secluded and private, while offering a level spot for any camper. If you are looking for a serene place to chill out, while enjoying the sun and the sounds of nature, this is your place. Cell service works well enough for downloading but not enough for streaming. Bonus, there are good walking trails in the local area. You can visit Mt. St. Helen's in roughly an hours drive or travel to Mt. Rainier in about 1.5 hours. I would highly recommend Laura's place. She and her family were welcoming to sharing their property while ensuring space and privacy. If we are back in this area, we will definitely stay again.

I loved the small pond, and so did my dogs! The large field was also very nice and freshly mowed. It is fairly close to the road / neighborhood houses, but still private enough for what we were looking for.

What a fun little place! The campsite was spacious with a great campfire set up, a nice picnic bench and the toilet was so clean and easy to use. We took a couple of young kids and it was great to be able to have the space to ourselves so they could be kids and have fun. We added the duck eggs and the animal meet and feed and we all had so much fun! The goats were so friendly, the chickens were friendly, and the geese and ducks were so cool to be close to! We’ve definitely will be back. Karissa was very sweet and took time to make sure that we were comfortable, had what we needed, and answered all of our questions about the animals.

Beautiful campsite overlooking Riffe Lake! We really enjoyed the views, proximity to town and surrounding trails and hikes like Swofford Flats and Mossyrock Park. Ike Kinswa State Park was about a 25 minute drive that had a fantastic trail by the river. Laura was so hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed. The site is private and spacious which was great for our doggies! We look forward to coming back!

While doing a winter road trip, this host helped us out big time! At 10PM in December we tried to find a campsite and they were all closed! (Duh, it’s snowing lol) I hopped on hipcamp and Brads property was available, immediately! The host immediate messaged us with all information and answering all questions. Even came outside after 11PM to greet us and show us where to park! He is was truly awesome. Absolutely awesome space amidst beautiful greenery and a sweet pond! Oh! The best part! HE ALLOWED OUR DOGS! And they definitely approved. Thank you for giving us a safe space to land and goals to pursue something awesome like this one day!

Learn more about this land: It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond, but the Lewis river is in within walking distance and tons of recreational activities are close by (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with a few residential homes and Airbnbs along the river, so be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is close by for a quick trip. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a close trip out of town for a day or two. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow!!! Dogs are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using. We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get). Please, read each site description carefully! Site 1 has a composting toilet for tent campers (please do not rate me based on this or any other things out of my control, I have tried my best to inform you about what to be aware of in this description AND each site's description). The toilet is santized, bags and gel are provided and it's private. You MUST pack out ALL waste; if you do not like any of these conditions please do not book this site. Site 2 is for RVs that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules.

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, and in order to keep the camp private, larger groups are given priority. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is also a resource area where you will find an electrical outlet, a water hose, five gallon jugs, bundled firewood, fresh eggs/produce for sale, and a wagon to transport everything back to camp. While the campsite, play space, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. We also have a play field (with a net) so pack your movie screen, volleyball, soccer ball, badminton set and lawn games. You'll enjoy communing with the farm animals, the goats are especially hands on and love the attention campers give them, while the chickens and ducks are mostly just fun to observe. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Just five minutes down the road, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids. If you're looking to explore the area, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet in the middle getaway. Located only a 5 minute drive to Mayfield Lake in Lewis County, our property is a rustic retreat from the hustle and bustle. There are plenty of outdoor exploration opportunities in the area. We have 5 acres with a great camping spot with a fire pit nestled among large evergreen trees. The tress provide shade in the summer months. For bird lovers and botanists, we have left our land native with grass lands among the trees. We have local osprey, eagles, and falcons as well as doves, owls, cickadees, woodpeckers, robins, etc. We also have local deer that travel through the land, and mostly leave us humans alone.

Nestled in beautiful Mossyrock, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains just off White Pass Scenic Byway in western Washington state, Blue Sheep Farm is less than a mile away from one of the best fishing holes in the state (Swofford Pond), and from Riffe Lake’s heavily-booked Mossyrock Campground. Our 20-acre property features densely-forested mountainside trails, a seasonal creek and pond, with a variety of hardwood and evergreen trees. Surrounded on three sides by Christmas tree farms, our farm is the last bit of wilderness left in the area. Only an hour from Mt. Ranier’s legendary winter sports, with hiking, fishing and festivals all both here and nearby, our farm provides a perfect Base Camp for your any-season getaway! Your campsite has 15a power and water, and gravel parking, and is located by the beautiful Western style brown barn at the end of Naylor Road (at the "End of County Road" sign). Note that the site has been leveled but is NOT perfectly level; it is however within the typical leveling ability of RVs at the size limits stated. The farm is located on a steep hillside (12% grade); there is only so much we can do. But the stunning views more than make up for any inconvenience, in our experience. Ovis Aries is the scientific name for “domestic sheep”, and indeed, we raise Romney sheep of all colors on our farm! You may also meet our sweet and friendly Morgan Horse mare, Naya, who likes to follow visitors around like a very large dog. We also have a small orchard with apples, persimmons, cherries, blueberries, and a pear, peach and almond tree beside the barn. We farm using organic, no-till, permaculture, silvopasture and forest grazing practices, and the sheep are entirely grass-fed, producing meat of the healthiest-possible quality. If fiber arts is your jam, we have a beautiful wool workshop, with a 40" 4-shaft, 6-harness Louet Hollandia floor loom, a 32" Harp rigid heddle loom, 5 spinning wheels, a drum carder, and numerous other fiber tools for scouring, prepping, spinning, dyeing, weaving, felting and knitting wool. One on one and small group classes are available with reservations. We also have a business center, including fast StarLink Wi-Fi. Farm Tours are given on request.
