Lawnacres is a 20 acre farm that focuses on enhancing wellbeing through the presence of horses and nature. The Bunky itself is a converted horse stall in one of the barns on the property.
The glamping space is approximately 10x12, with a queen size log bed and wide rustic cedar plank flooring. The “stall” to the north houses an outdoor shower and sauna. It’s about a 30 foot walk to the outhouse.
The stalls to the south are usually used by horses during the day, but they sleep in a different barn at night.
Guests are free to amble about the acreage, which has a stream, a wooded path and some wide open meadow.

For concert season...You can easily uber (6-8min) to the Chateau venue from our driveway and back, as parking can be an issue. You can bike there (15-20min) or walk (40-50min) but it is a steep hill on the return with narrow shoulder to walk on 2 lane road.
There are a great many restaurants and spas nearby if you would like recommendations let us know.
Please note that we do allow pets but they MUST be leashed at all time to protect our farm animals. If you have an all day activity and need references for pet daycare or sitters let us know.

This 4th generation grass valley floor at sea level includes views of Mt. Baker & Rainer. Surrounded by retired culinary herb fields and planted cow corn to the west. Every year our fields flood and hold at least 3 feet of water, hence we only offer seasonal camping. We can't wait for you to experience this tiny house in the woods. Check back weekly to see our progress photos! We call this a treehouse but it's technically supported by posts (nicer to the trees). There is a fullsize high end queen memory foam bed on the upper floor. Yes, this is a 2 story treehouse! On the second floor there is also a children's sleeping loft which overlooks the rest of the bedroom. This loft is suitable for a small child or 2 but headroom is only a few feet. We found it also requires some youthfull agility to get up there.
A beautiful knotty alder slidding barn door leads from the bedroom to a private bathroom with pedestal sink and odorless composting toilet.
There is a small kitchen with a coffee maker, mini fridge, induction cooktop, mini crockpot, and enough dishes and glasses to enjoy a simple meal or drink. Water pressure in the kitchen and throughout is good!
There is a soaking tub on the main floor near the fireplace and TV with free Netflix. This luxury tub is sure to be a favorite amongst guests. I designed a non traditional floor plan knowing that this would be used primarily as a couples retreat. You can literally be soaking in the tub and watching TV by the fire while your significant other is preparing a meal in the kitchen all in the same space. We find the layout very romantic and unlike anything else out there.
There is also a large hot tub avalible for our guests near the main house. You are welcome to use this hot tub anytime if you don't mind it being by the main home.
Free Wifi. No cable TV but we supply Netflix on the hi-speed guest network. Guests will have free parking in our large circular driveway suitable for cars, trucks, or even RVs under 31ft.

It is just me and an occasional worker operating the property so you may see us weeding, feeding farm animals or watering some of the many gardens. You are encouraged to participate in activities on the farm and children are welcome to do the same.
We are 5 minutes from Bailey's Corner Store, Whidbey's best burger joint, which has great music various nights of the week, and Ogres Brewery which also has great entertainment and beer. Langley and Freeland are each 20 minutes away.
Note that all sites are TENT-ONLY sites. There is no car, roof-top tent or RV camping availability.

My stay at Alison’s was serene, peaceful, and exactly what I needed. I was looking for a place to decompress, find inspiration, and get some work done, and this exceeded my expectations.
As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the smell of freshly cut grass, hay, and the farm. Two adorable miniature donkeys welcomed me, and I quickly found myself captivated by the beautiful horses grazing nearby. The setting felt calming and restorative from the moment I arrived.
The barn room was unique, private, and full of character. It was the perfect place to work and create. Sitting at the desk while watching horses graze just outside was such a special experience. The showers were wonderful, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
I was a little concerned it might get chilly at night since part of one wall is screened to the outdoors, but the comforter was so thick and cozy that I slept soundly. It was also surprisingly quiet at night.
The only thing to note is that there is no sink in the room, though it wasn’t an issue for me as I simply washed my hands in the shower. There is also an outhouse around the corner. As someone who is a bit of a germaphobe, I would have preferred an indoor bathroom, but that was really my only minor drawback.
Overall, I loved this getaway and would absolutely stay here again. It’s a wonderful retreat for anyone looking to relax, recharge, and enjoy a unique farm experience.

Weekend Trip to Simple Roots Ranch
Dave and Sharon’s space was so serene and lovely. We arrived late in the evening and Dave came out to greet us and show us the space and brought some firewood over for us to enjoy our dinner around the fire. We loved the gardens, abundance of trees and flowers and spent most of our time outside bird watching and playing with their dogs. It was a wonderful experience and we would stay here again. You can tell the hosts put a lot of thought and effort into making the space enjoyable!

This family-run farm is just what I was hoping for - close enough to Seattle (we’re visiting UW) but far enough out that it feels peaceful and definitely not urban. The path behind the farm is flanked by flower farms and nurseries and connects to a paved bike trail, along a river, that you can ride to wineries, breweries, parks, and more. Jana and Pedro are very welcoming.

Not being level is not an issue if you know how to level your trailer!
Could hear firing range but not bothersome.
We didnt want to have our door face opposite the campsite, so we pulled straight in. If you choose this, make sure your sewer hose will reach the connection. We only guessed, and lost. HaHa
All-in-All, this campsite is very peaceful.

Allison was an amazing host and very hospitable. The bunk in the barn was a perfect relaxing getaway and is conveniently located near downtown areas and small shops.
The friendly horses and donkeys on the property made the stay extra special and brought plenty of smiles.
To top it off, the fire pit was amazing—so peaceful and relaxing.
I would rate this stay a 10 out of 10 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique farm-style getaway. An amazing experience overall.

This was our first experience with HipCamp, and I must say it will be a hard one to follow! Dave and Sharon's place was amazing. We had fun walking the gardens during the day and making s'mores on the campfire at night. They provided us with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking dinner-- and Dave even offered us some veggies from his garden for our meal. Looking forward to our next visit!

The site was nice, mostly flat, and a good amount of space. The decent down to the river was sandy and quite steep, but that wasn't a big deal for us this trip. The neighboring campsite was quite close - it would be a great pair of sites for two families together, and I hope your revisit it again with friends. That said, this trip, we didn't know the family, there was only one shared picnic table and fire pit, and they had a dog who barked when we moved around. Thankfully they weren't using the fire pit or table and we don't mind a dog, but it's something to consider. The views of Mount Rainier are beautiful and watching the bee hives was awesome!
The biggest complaint we had about this site is the road noise was LOUD around 10pm. It was clear there were folks using the roads around the farm to race with very loud engines, loud enough to scare my kids. I'm not sure if this was a MDW thing or if it happens every weekend, but that may be the one thing that keeps us from visiting here again.
