The *Purple Cottage* -- was found & salvaged (recycled!)-- moved onto the back of my property in 2012. This 16 X 12' place has been my studio in the past, but has offered overflow for friends & ; family. Nestled in the woods and ever-so-private, the cottage has a pull-out double futon, plus a small sleeping loft and can accommodate 1 -2 nicely (we will consider 3 if you have a small child, but it would be a tight fit!... There is a very small sleeping loft in the cottage.). There is a “en suite kitchen in the cottage that has a small fridge, microwave, and two burner stovetop cooking unit.
The cottage offers privacy in a wooded garden setting. The bathhouse, with hot shower, vanity and; toilet --are all steps away (and covered) from the main cabin.
The Purple Cottage sits on a shy wooded acre, with greenbelt buffers all around, maximizing the sense of privacy. our vintage Shasta Trailer across the driveway of the Purple Cottage is currently used as a music studio (and rarely as family/guest overflow), and I have my own small Artist Studio located also on the back of the property. Even with all the little enclave of buildings, The Purple Cottage retains a private feel all to itself, with reliable Wi-Fi available at the cottage. . It is located in a quiet little neighborhood, about 6 miles from Langley & 6 miles from Freeland.. Private beach access is across the road and a 15 minute walk up the street, where you can beach comb & explore the shoreline out at our little point. The private deck off the side of the Purple Cottage offers views of the gardens & flora, and has a little gas barbecue. There is also a delightful hot tub on the deck, which is a wonderful feature. An outdoor kitchen on the edge of the woods allows a roomier “camp cooking” experience with Colman stove & cold running water (season permitting).
We are located 6 miles from the picturesque town of Langley and equal distance from Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey. Our area is very *bike-able* and either direction will get you to town!
The Purple Cottage offers a rustic retreat in a place that feels far away, but is an hour & a half from the bustling city of Seattle!

Welcome to our passion project, a completely restored and preserved '77 Airstream Argosy. Tucked in a forested corner of our plot, only 3/4 mile from downtown Sequim you'll get the BEST of camping without any of the worsts of camping. Spend evenings in the wood fire hot tub under the stars and slip into 100% cotton sheets on an oversized camper mattress & French Flax bedding.
Tucked into the fully fenced and forested quarter of our lot, once parked and past the gate you'll feel as though you've entered the best camping spot in the entire campground - only thing is, you've got the whole place to yourself. Our aim was to create the best of camping without any of the pain that usually accompanies it. No packing up the camper, trailer hookups, towing on wild highways, backing up and parking, loud neighbors but instead... complete privacy, a fully outfitted camper with all the interior amenities you could dream of (think fully equipped kitchen, games, books, bedding, toilet paper - we've got it all) a propane fire pit, already chopped firewood for the WOOD FIRE HOT TUB under the stars, a solar outdoor shower to rinse yourself off, a large curved deck with a table and chairs. Depending on the season you may even find a fridge stocked with farm fresh eggs.
The property that the campsite is located on is also fully gated so you won't have to worry about security and your privacy. Unless you need something you'll be fully left alone and safe.
PLEASE note that Vintage Camping Trailers are petite. The walking path from the front to the back of the trailer is narrow. The bed is a FULL size mattress. That being said, we did spring for a very tall mattress so once you're in the bed you will be as comfy as possible. This camping experience is best for those who are also petite. Tall travelers may find the height of the inside shower and the entire camper a bit cramped. Additionally, the bed can most definitely fit two sleepers but please ensure you comfortably fit on a full size mattress before you commit. Remember, the spirit of this stay is luxury camping, but it's still camping.

This 16 X 12' place has been my studio in the past, but has offered overflow for friends & ; family. Nestled in the woods and ever-so-private, the cottage has a pull-out double futon, plus a small sleeping loft and can accommodate 1 -2 nicely (we will consider 3 if you have a small child, but it would be a tight fit!... There is a very small sleeping loft in the cottage.). There is a “en suite kitchen in the cottage that has a small fridge, microwave, and two burner stovetop cooking unit.
The cottage offers privacy in a wooded garden setting. The bathhouse, with hot shower, vanity and; toilet --are all steps away (and covered) from the main cabin.
The Purple Cottage sits on a shy wooded acre, with greenbelt buffers all around, maximizing the sense of privacy. our vintage Shasta Trailer across the driveway of the Purple Cottage is currently used as a music studio (and rarely as family/guest overflow), and I have my own small Artist Studio located also on the back of the property. Even with all the little enclave of buildings, The Purple Cottage retains a private feel all to itself, with reliable Wi-Fi available at the cottage. . It is located in a quiet little neighborhood, about 6 miles from Langley & 6 miles from Freeland.. Private beach access is across the road and a 15 minute walk up the street, where you can beach comb & explore the shoreline out at our little point. The private deck off the side of the Purple Cottage offers views of the gardens & flora, and has a little gas barbecue. There is also a delightful hot tub on the deck, which is a wonderful feature. An outdoor kitchen on the edge of the woods allows a roomier “camp cooking” experience with Colman stove & cold running water (season permitting).
We are located 6 miles from the picturesque town of Langley and equal distance from Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey. Our area is very *bike-able* and either direction will get you to town!
The Purple Cottage offers a rustic retreat in a place that feels far away, but is an hour & a half from the bustling city of Seattle!

Tucked in a forested corner of our plot, only 3/4 mile from downtown Sequim you'll get the BEST of camping without any of the worsts of camping. Spend evenings in the wood fire hot tub under the stars and slip into 100% cotton sheets on an oversized camper mattress & French Flax bedding.
Tucked into the fully fenced and forested quarter of our lot, once parked and past the gate you'll feel as though you've entered the best camping spot in the entire campground - only thing is, you've got the whole place to yourself. Our aim was to create the best of camping without any of the pain that usually accompanies it. No packing up the camper, trailer hookups, towing on wild highways, backing up and parking, loud neighbors but instead... complete privacy, a fully outfitted camper with all the interior amenities you could dream of (think fully equipped kitchen, games, books, bedding, toilet paper - we've got it all) a propane fire pit, already chopped firewood for the WOOD FIRE HOT TUB under the stars, a solar outdoor shower to rinse yourself off, a large curved deck with a table and chairs. Depending on the season you may even find a fridge stocked with farm fresh eggs.
The property that the campsite is located on is also fully gated so you won't have to worry about security and your privacy. Unless you need something you'll be fully left alone and safe.
PLEASE note that Vintage Camping Trailers are petite. The walking path from the front to the back of the trailer is narrow. The bed is a FULL size mattress. That being said, we did spring for a very tall mattress so once you're in the bed you will be as comfy as possible. This camping experience is best for those who are also petite. Tall travelers may find the height of the inside shower and the entire camper a bit cramped. Additionally, the bed can most definitely fit two sleepers but please ensure you comfortably fit on a full size mattress before you commit. Remember, the spirit of this stay is luxury camping, but it's still camping.

Greg and Shelly are extremely kind and have such a beautiful home! Very clean and LOTs of appliances and fun things to do in and on the property. They had dry firewood ready for use and the hottub was hot and well kept. We had hummingbird visitors and were able to go down to the river and see salmon swimming! We used the bbq that was full of propane also. We are returning guests and highly recommend visiting! They were so generous to invite us to stay longer past the check out time as there were no guests after us so we enjoyed being able to sleep in and pack up without rushing. Very happy to be up in such a gorgeous area. Don’t hesitate to book with them!

This may be the best place we've stayed at. Jackie is an incredibly thoughtful host with excellent communication. The tent was clean and absolutely perfect. I was very pleased that she used non toxic products. The property is beautiful, the hot tub beside our tent was amazing, the pool was super cool and we had everything we needed for the best stay. She even shared s'mores kits with us for the fire. Jackie really thought of everything!!
This is definitely a hidden gem! Will be booking again super soon! This time we will bring the kids. :)

Very cute, extremely cozy (still thinking about that duvet), loved the fire pit and the hammock. Can’t wait to come back! The one note I have is maybe bring your own silverware, because there was only enameled flatware and the enamel is peeling off which is not safe to consume of course.

Weekend Trip to Sundara West
I had the pleasure of staying in the glamping tent with my husband for our honeymoon. Our experience was everything we wished for and more. The tent was a perfect mix of cozy and romantic, with a king sized bed, heated mattress pads, and a gas fireplace. The tent is situated on a deck with a beautiful set up in front for sipping coffee in the morning or wine in the evenings. The gas grill made it easy to prepare a hot breakfast. The most exceptional touches were the private hot tub and shower behind the tent, and of course, the pool house which provided a tropical oasis in the quiet countryside. There were other guests staying in the cottage but we were able to smoothly coordinate pool times with Jackie so we could enjoy our vacation in solitude. Last but not least, our host, Jackie, was absolutely wonderful and one of the most responsive hosts I’ve worked with. It’s clear to see how much care and detail she puts into making each stay perfect. Like other reviewers have mentioned, Sundara West is now top of the list of places I will gladly return to.

The yurt and nature spa were absolutely fantastic. My sister and I spent two nights at Kaitlyn’s place. The yurt was so cozy and the mattress was the perfect firmness. The nature spa was so relaxing. We appreciated that we could use the spa throughout our stay and spent the first night in the hot tub stargazing. Kaitlyn recommended a hike for us to do which was lovely - we then came back to the spa all set up for an elemental circuit including a clay mask and seaweed. We felt so good afterwards! Kaitlyn was so kind and welcoming, would stay here again!

We absolutely loved staying at Greg & Shelly’s! As we entered their very private driveway, It felt like we were going into a movie. There were cute little white figures hiding on the trees all the way to there house. And the tent was beautifully set up. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was tiny but had everything we needed. Outside shower was very romantic. It was great taking a warm shower in the forest. Private access to river was amazing bonus. Shelly and Greg were really really nice. We will definitely be back!

Where to go
Orcas Island
Orcas Island is the biggest island in the San Juans, and has plenty of amenities, including restaurants, museums, shops, and camping options. It’s also home to the largest of Washington’s state parks—Moran State Park—a fantastic place for hiking, and boating. Tent and RV camping is available in the park, but campers need to secure reservations ahead of time. If you have your own boat, you can also visit nearby Sucia Island Marine State Park, an uninhabited, pristine spot directly north of Orcas Island.
San Juan Island
San Juan Island is popular among adventurers and history lovers, and the San Juan Island National Historical Park is a must-visit for anyone who wants to learn about the Pig War, a boundary dispute between Britain and the U.S. that all started because of a trespassing pig. The park is for day use only, but you'll find tent and RV sites at San Juan County Park on the west side of San Juan Island, overlooking Haro Straight, and at the San Juan County Fairgrounds.
Lopez Island
The third-most populated island in the chain, Lopez Island offers 63 miles of shoreline and a mix of forests, farmlands, galleries, and boutiques. The island is popular among cyclists, with quiet, mostly flat roads, and has a few great places to camp, including Spencer Spit State Park, which has reservable and hiker/biker sites, a dump station, flush toilets, but no hookups or showers, and Odlin County Park has seven RV sites for vehicles less than 30-feet-long, but no hookups.
Shaw Island
Shaw Island is the smallest of the four main San Juan Islands that are accessible by ferry, with a year-round population of only around 200 people. You can camp at Shaw County Park, which offers 11 tent camping sites, a boat launch, picnic tables, and fire pits. Island facilities are limited, but there is a general store by the ferry landing where you can buy food and supplies.
