My husband & I put a lot of blood sweat & tears into making this a place our kids would enjoy during our weekend vacations to Leavenworth. We love hiking & there are a ton of nearby hikes. Despite it being located on the other side of the train tracks, we always seem to have a good time. We hope you enjoy it too!

Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy this glamp spot! Utilize the dry cabin equipped with two twin size beds, a pullout couch bed, a dining table with 4 chairs & extra seating. With plenty of space outdoors, feel free to pitch a tent or bring your RV for friends! It is a dry cabin meaning there is no running water. We have it powered with a solar panel which should give enough electricity to charge phones & lights as needed. There is also an outhouse with a compost bucket if you'd like to use that. The downside to this lovely parcel is it's on the opposite side of the train tracks, so there will be occasional noise. Maybe it adds to the uniqueness? Just keep that in mind as once in a blue moon, the train does stop so you may be stuck for a few minutes. Oh & those power lines sometimes make a crackling noise. Sometimes we notice it & other times we don't. Now that we got that out of the way, the pros are it's a great place to explore. There are a ton of nearby hikes. This spot is in between Stevens Pass & the famous Alps candy store, with each being about 15 mins away. There is a gas station/convenient store, a few diners, and a rest stop within 5 minutes. Historical Leavenworth is about 20 mins.
There is a spot for campfires, a small 2 burner propane stove & an ice chest for your convenience, but you will need to bring the propane.

Great campsite! Having an onsite porta potty, picnic tables and wifi was very convenient! The swing by the creek was very relaxing. It was a bit dry, windy and therefore dusty but it didn’t rain so that was a good trade off. Loved that it was shaded in the morning and early evening yet sunny for most of the day. The campground being so close to Cle Elum Lake and the boat launches was a huge plus! Would love to come back again someday.

We stayed at the riverside campsite 4. It had great access to the river and was directly at the end of the trail from the parking lot which made it easy to get our camp gear in and out. Really nice atmosphere and beautiful location. The river drowns out the conversations of your adjacent campsites, giving you more privacy, although you do hear some traffic from the road. The sauna and hot tub were pretty busy the night we were there which made it difficult to find a time to use them.

I really enjoyed camping on Mary Ann's land. All the seating areas and everything that she is set up makes it really comfortable for multiple people. It's okay she makes it great to access Leavenworth or lake Wenatchee or multiple other areas. I highly recommend this space especially if you want outdoor seating under the trees where you can relax around a nice campfire! (when there is no burn ban in effect)

We loved this spot! Amazing view! Do not expect to have a campfire!!! There are too many fires in and around Wenatchee/Chelan. Thank you to all the firefighters in the area! The spot is a tad windy, but nothing you can’t handle. There are times in the day there is no wind at all! The road is a little rough, but nothing our truck and 12ft tow behind trailer couldn’t handle. Very remote. 25-50 minutes or so in to town, depending on where you are going… very centrally located near Orondo. Would recommend and would visit again! Thank you so much for sharing your slice of heaven with us. My boyfriend and our dog LOVED it!

Weekend Trip to Ascent Basecamp
My family and I rented both floors of the cabin (Over the River and Through the Woods) over the 4th of July weekend. We are not big outdoor campers, so this was an incredible and unforgettable experience for us.
The site was clean and well-maintained. You receive a key to access the bath house, which is shared with the other lodgers. We appreciated that Mark informed when the other party arrived. (P.S. turn off the water when shampooing/washing to maintain hot water and conserve energy!)
Mark was communicative both before and throughout our stay, is available on site to answer questions/provide tips about the surrounding area. My favorite part was the communal aspects offered; being one with nature while having opportunities to chat with others sharing the space.
I will never forget the rotation of: sauna, dip in river, hot tub. The window of the sauna overlooking the river alone is priceless, but with this rotation, nothing can compare. Can also 100% attest to the powerful river overpowering other campers. It was a restorative, healing trip that I would recommend to anyone and everyone - I know I'll be back!

This was our second time camping in this spot. Great location and good privacy. We were able to see the Mason 4th of July fireworks by walking 50 feet from our spot site. We love this spot because it is also close to some of the wineries and has a lovely view.

Where to go
The Yakima Valley
South of Leavenworth, the Yakima Valley area offers around 300 days of sunshine per year, making it ideal for hiking and river rafting. This area is also home to over 100 wineries, as well as cultural attractions celebrating the arts and Yakama Nation traditions.
Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest
Spanning across the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains, this expansive national forest encompasses over 1.7 million acres, with six wilderness areas within its boundaries. While backpacking to remote areas is a popular way to explore the area, there are also plenty of developed campgrounds to choose from.
Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest
On the western side of the Cascades, extending from Mount Rainier National Park all the way up to the Canadian border, this massive national forest is popular throughout the year, attracting locals and out-of-state visitors alike. Expect fantastic skiing and winter sports opportunities in the winter months and excellent camping in the warmer season.

When to go
Leavenworth is at its most charming in the weeks leading up to Christmas, with a holiday market and light displays to mark the season. The yuletide cheer continues well into the new year, but with fewer crowds. If you want to go camping (or are planning on driving over the Cascade Mountains and don’t want to risk getting stuck in a winter blizzard), late spring to early fall make an ideal alternative, with pleasant (but never hot) temperatures.
