Purchased in 2013 after a fire came through the area. We've spent the last 7 years regenerating the land, planting trees, building our house and collecting places for people to rest their heads. Masabaje is the first two letters of each of our parents names (Margaret, Sandy, Barry, Jerry). We offer five listings - a converted schoolbus, an Airstream, retro trailer, truck bed glamp pod and tent spot. Meet Birdy, a semi-converted Blue Bird school bus with a comfortable queen mattress, couch, two recliners, dry kitchen, cooking utensils, and camp stove. There is access to a toilet, shower and sink (clean up area) in back room of main house (about a 4 minute walk). Birdy sits at "Top Pond", farthest from the house in a super quiet and private spot. You must bring your own bedding or sleeping bags, pillows, etc. (available here for an additional fee). There is no electricity available in Birdy. Devices can be charged up at the house. There is also no heater in Birdy, overnight temperatures in September and October can dip down into the mid-low 40's or lower. Meet Tin Man, we found him after he had been in an accident. We bandaged him up and he became the first place to sleep when we bought our empty land. He has a comfortable double mattress, couch, chair, kitchen, cooking utensils, and two burner stove. There is access to a toilet, shower and sink (clean up area) in back room of main house (about a 30 second walk). Tin Man sits on our driveway round-a-bout and is closest to the house. You must bring your own bedding or sleeping bags, pillows, etc. (available here for an additional fee). Ellensburg is known for its wind and our land is just down from a wind farm. We cannot control the wind, but Birdy sits in a pretty wind protected oasis. Masabaje is a clothing optional space. We are less than 2 hours from Seattle, 1 hour to Yakima wine country, 40 minutes to Vantage, 40 minutes to Leavenworth, 50 minutes to Snoqualmie Pass, 15 minutes to Ellensburg, 25 minutes to Roslyn, 25 minutes to Yakima River Canyon for floating and hiking, and so much more!

Access to the river is very nearby. Weekend camping is limited, and you may occasionally hear the sound of a train whistle. WiFi and a fire pit are included, as well as on-site port-a-potties. Hot outdoor showers are also on-site and available to all rafters and campers. There is a large communal fire pit, but no individual campfire pits; however, the option is to bring a propane stand-alone fire pit. Fires are allowed in April, May, and June; the fire ban starts on July 1st due to wildfire concerns. No smoking and children are OK as long as they are kept under control and monitored at all times. Our property features potable water, on-site outdoor showers, and a foot-operated hand wash station. Our camping area is somewhat small and does not have grass, but it is graveled. Welcome to one of the most magical places in Kittitas County. Here you will be the ONLY campers on this 1 acre site! The spot has a crystal clear 80/gpm well and power for you to use. There is plenty of room for extra tents or parking. The driveway can be challenging if you are new to trailering. There is a turn around for backing up but it is not a pull though. See photos ;) Here you will feel a world away but a 15 minute drive down the mountain and you are in downtown Cle Elum. The property is minutes away from the Yakima River, Hwy 10, I-90 and the Teanaway Forest. Fly fishing, rafting, hiking are all nearby. When the sun goes down get your chair ready. Sunsets are breathtaking and with little light pollution, the star gazing is incredible. This original 24 acre parcel and surrounding area was destroyed by the Taylor Bridge fire in August of 2012. The fire destroyed 61 homes and 36 square miles. Currently, NO FIRES of any kind, as there is a county wide burn ban in place. Well socialized dogs are ALWAYS welcome. The owner has a very friendly Aussie who will most likely manage to open a door and “sneak out” to say hello…. Note, the whole Kittitas Valley can be windy so come prepared just in case. Wenatchee is 12 miles away, 35 miles to the Gorge Amphitheater, 30 miles to Leavenworth and 45 miles to Lake Chelan. This is an farming area with cherry orchards 200 feet from the site. It is busy during cherry harvest (4th of July through end of July) with regular chemical sprays being applied by our neighbors from April through September so if you are sensitive to agricultural chemicals this site is not recommended. Also be advised we're on top of a mountain and can get quite breezy at times. Pets are welcome but should be supervised due to predators (primarily coyotes and various birds of prey). And the chickens, I have a friend raising chickens on the upper part of the property where they mostly just make routine chicken noises but there are some roosters that seem to be nocturnal which some folks can find annoying. We also have varying numbers of snakes as the weather warms up some years they are more prevalent than others (contact me if you are concerned for a snake report). On the bright side we don't have any wasps or mosquitoes. This site is available once the snow melts and the mud dries up, typically mid-March until it begins freezing on a regular basis which varies but not much past mid October. This spot is also available for longer term rentals.

We had a great visit on Renato’s land. It was so beautiful and we had the place to ourselves! We did a wine tasting with Renato and his wine is delicious! It was wonderful hearing the story of his winery and learn about his love for wine making. Our dogs had so much fun playing fetch on our site. The spots are huge with plenty of room for pets and kids to run around and explore! Beautiful views of the valley to wake up to. Thank you for hosting us Renato!

This is a lovely spot with the view of the canyons and vineyard. We chose site 4 as it was more remote than the sites with electrical that are closer to the road. So we had no services but the ports potty was clean and convenient. You really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere in cool off the grid way yet its not hard to get to and Renee was so kind with a wine tasting and telling us about his organic wines. Very fun!

First and foremost this land is gorgeous. There was a wonderful view and the area was very well cared for. The directions were very easy to follow and took me straight to the site (Apple Maps). I had a bit of hiccup with a flat tire and Jackie could not have been more helpful. She assisted me in this issue and that was the biggest act of kindness. I would’ve had to pay a lot for a tow and this was avoided by her help! It is nice to know that you’re booking with someone who genuinely cares for their property and for the people camping. Thank you again Jackie for your kindness, sharing your property and just being overall amazing. I cannot recommend this site enough!! :)

Tent site fine. Very quiet other than few unusual animal sounds and a freight train will honk and rumble in the distance once overnight/morning. Be sure to confirm arrangements with host; check in is from 2pm but site wasn’t prepared with picnic table and toilet until 5:30pm. Host responsive during the day via hipcamp inbox.

Great spot with awesome view overlooking alfalfa fields. The picnic table is GREAT for outdoor dining and relaxing. Interior has everything you need. I was unable to get the heat to work, but the host is updating the listing with a manual for future guests.

Weekend Trip to Cowiche Canyon Orchard Cabin-Heated

I really enjoyed the space. This was a halfway point to get to Great Prosser Balloon Festival by 6a Saturday morning. I picked up a Walmart order then straight to the Cathaus. (We didn’t see the cat). I pulled together a little dinner. Maria had some dishes and utensils but I’d brought my own. I went and sat on the covered area overlooking the apple orchard with my dog. The local winery next door had an evening concert going, so even had a little entertainment. The workers cabin was cute. Nothing too fancy or too shabby. The full size bed was cozy. I’m not a huge fan of foam form pillows but at 4a I discovered one of the bunk beds had a fluffy pillow. Too bad I didn’t check around 9p when I turned in. 🙂 My border collie did well. There was ample lighting once dark to see the path to the outhouse. Plenty of books to browse or read if any guest wants to fill downtime. I enjoyed the location and the basket of homemade goodies to purchase. I guess if I had to provide any feedback, it might be to add some fairy lights maybe around the “kitchen” area. Everyone’s opinion will be different. I tend to like just a little light at night, typically in another room. The cabin was pitch dark when lights were out. I had brought some usb fairy lights with me and honestly I should have left them behind as a gift. Maybe I’ll throw my extra string in the mail to Maria. Thanks for the hospitality! Hope I have the opportunity to visit again.
