Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: The cabin is older and rustic, and we are renovating it over time. There is a very steep/narrow staircase that excesses the second floor, and the twin bed artea is part of the lofty and is not an enclosed bedroom. The living space and kitchen are open concept, and there is seating for 4 at the dining room table and 2 countertop barstools as well. The adorable farmhouse style kitchen has everything you need to cook meals during your stay, including all cooking essentials and basic spices. We also have pancake mix and quick oats for our guests in case you forgot to bring your own breakfast. If you are lucky enough to stay in late summer, you can walk across the street to pick wild blackberries. The living room has a large TV and a nice selection of DVDs to choose from. We also have Starlink for both internet and streaming services. Cell service can be hit or miss depending on provider. The bathroom is on the lower level, as well as the first bedroom which has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom opens up with a barn door and also has a queen bed as well as beautiful views of the creek and trees. For this reason it is my favorite bedroom! At the bottom of the stairs is the mud room which is a an enclosed patio and is a great place to store recreational equipment or wet/muddy items. It also allows excess to one of the decks which features outdoor seating and a bbq.

Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!) GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked. CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable. All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside. ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide. SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. If you are Coast Salish or Makah, please get in touch with me for a discounted stay.

Coffee Creek is an intentional community and working farm on the north side of Centralia, Washington. While our 11 acres feels very secluded, we are just 3 miles from historic downtown and 10 minutes from the freeway and shopping. An accessible oasis! There is a park with swimming, fishing and hiking along the Skookumchuck river within a mile of the farm, in addition to the natural beauty found right here at home. We enjoy bird watching, exploring our forest, and relaxing around a fire when we aren't working on the farm. Seasonal Strawberries and pastured poultry are our specialties, and we offer a wide variety of veggies and fruits. Farm fresh eggs are almost always available and we have organic meats to purchase and grill.

Weekend Trip to Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island

We loved our stay at Cole’s Cabin!! It was so cozy and the space heater kept us warm through the chilly fall nights. We had everything we needed for a wonderful retreat! Fred was an excellent host, and greeted us with homemade cookies and some great recommendations for exploring the island. We rode the bikes (excellent add on, so worth it!) down to Jacob’s Point and saw the leftover bricks from the factory as well as the remaining brick fireplace mantle and chimney from the historic homestead. We also walked down to the shoreline near the cabin and that was so beautiful. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Fred!

The cabin is warm and cozy. The kitchenette was stocked with all the cooking utinsils we needed! Lots of chopped firewood made the wood stove easy to operate. The loft bed was very comfortable!

Fred’s cabin was seriously the perf ct weekend get-away for my husband and I! The property was so peaceful and beautiful, the cabin was warm and very comfortable, had all the amenities we needed. We had so much fun exploring the island on the electric bikes! Definitely recommend staying here!

2 nights at The Kings Cottage-Adventure awaits!

This is the coolest Hipcamp I have stayed at. It makes for a great getaway, it's very private and cozy! The bed was so comfortable too. Lots of wildlife all around. The cottage is very clean and very well cared for. My only regret was not staying here longer. I hope to come back sometime!

My sweetie and I had an amazing time staying here! We needed a quick, relaxing weekend away from Seattle and the Coffee Creek farm and hosts absolutely delivered. My favorite thing was the very cozy loft bed, watching the light pouring in the windows through the trees. It’s a working farm, so there was activity happening nearby, but the cabin felt very private and calm. It was well-stocked with everything we needed to make meals in the cabin, a very efficient wood stove to keep us warm, and full of charm. The nighttime hot tub was lovely, piping hot and surrounded by a chorus of owls, coyotes (at a far distance), and frogs. Mokey was an excellent host - communicative, generous, and welcoming. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect little cabin. Quaint by cozy. Would stay again but one thing to note is there is hot water showers listed, however it only lasted for about 1 minute. Not a problem if you stay during the warm summer months, but during the chilly fall months it’s worth knowing

We really enjoyed our stay at Moss Haven so much! Joe has created a really special place, nestled on a west-facing cliffside between cedars, hemlocks, firs, and birches. It's super cozy, with absolutely everything you need for a cabin camping trip--a coffeemaker with coffee, tea, and cocoa; plenty of cooking utensils, plates, forks, etc; firewood and a propane fire for burn ban times, plenty of water, a cozy bed with lots of soft pillows and a throw blanket, outdoor shower, and a beautiful view. All you really have to bring are clothes and food, and books to read. We enjoyed watching the light and the clouds change over the Olympic foothills and the bay, stargazing, and the bats! The hike down to the beach is very steep but worth the climb down and back up again--if not for the view and the pebble beach, definitely for snacking on oysters right at the shore. Bonus: there's a hammock to rest on before the climb back up! We really enjoyed our time here and feel rested and rejuvenated. We're already looking forward to returning again soon!

1 night at Alder Grove Retreat

We absolutely loved our stay here! My fiancé and I stayed after he proposed to me at the park, and it was the perfect private and beautiful place to celebrate such a special moment. We wanted to camp and have an off-the-grid experience, and this stay gave us exactly the peaceful, secluded feel we were looking for while still being incredibly comfortable. The hosts were amazing, kind and welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our engagement. I highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful getaway!

Weekend Trip to Alder Grove Retreat

Had a really restful and restorative weekend in this little cabin! Dawson was super chill, got a couple things in need of fixing done quick, and was very respectful about privacy. The sauna was great and a really nice add-on since it was an extremely rainy weekend. The cabin smelled like fresh wood (love!) and everything was functional, but not perfect or precious, which is where the real relaxation happens for me. It was an easy, low-barrier destination for a solo trip where all I really wanted was deep decompression within four cozy walls, and it definitely delivered!
