The Navy OLF is nearby. It is recommended you check the flight schedule for dates and times the jets will be flying. Depending on the direction they happen to be flying that night, it can get quite loud. In those instances, ear protection is recommended. About a third of summer weekdays the OLF is used. The jets do not fly on weekends and holidays. Having said all of this, most campers enjoy the airshow, as it is a unique opportunity.
The camp site is approximately 6 acres located in a quiet secluded forest area near highway 525. A fire pit is provided on non-burn ban days. A flat grassy area is big enough to enjoy your recreation activity of choice. Bring your binoculars and check out all the different kinds of birds. Nearby wetlands provide lots of food for birds, bats, and dragonflies. Other wildlife you may see are deer, bunnies, owls, quail, butterflies, garter snakes, and raccoons. Lots of native flora can be identified with your plant identification app or book. The beach is about a mile away where you can hunt for sea glass and enjoy the waves or build yourself a shelter out of driftwood.
The mostly flat gravel road can accommodate any size RV.

This includes all people, men and women alike, as the term "Cowboy" is largely generic and not gender oriented. A taste of that lifestyle is what we are offering here at our Cowboy Camp.
As part of your cowboy camp experience you can sign up for a horsemanship lesson involving handling and grooming horses and time spent working with the horse in the round pen.

Our beautiful piece of property is comprised of 11 acres situated on the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula just outside the quaint Victorian seaport town of Port Townsend. It lies approximately 4 miles from downtown with its many art galleries, restaurants, shops, boat harbor, farmer's market and the historic Rose theater.
The horses are excluded from camping areas during your visit. No need to worry about curious horses coming into your campsite to say hello.
We have created a walking trail through the forest around the land that is full of the sounds of life and birds. A pileated woodpecker makes its home in the back corner and two pairs of barred owls also inhabit the nearby Douglas firs.
An important note for the walking explorer, please be aware that many areas of the farm are in their natural state. This means you might encounter prickly plants such as star thistle, nettles and tansy ragwort. We are happy to identify these for you if you are unfamiliar with them. Please be aware and dress in long pants and long sleeves while hiking. There are no poisonous snakes present in this region.
Side note : Due to the presence of horses, chickens and various wildlife on the property, we do not allow outside dogs at this time. Thank you for your understanding.

Deer and occasional coyotes roam the property, but rest assured, they are apprehensive of us and pose no threat.
We derive great pleasure from spending time outdoors, so you may frequently observe us engaged in fieldwork, construction, or simply relaxing in our stargazing hammock circle. We are always available to provide you with space or invite you to join us. We derive immense satisfaction from meeting new individuals and have numerous recommendations for Whidbey Island, including the delectable blueberry stand in Freeland and the Mutiny Bay Blues, a venue that we can either recommend or provide directions to.
We eagerly anticipate your visit. Fern Gully is conveniently located just a two-minute drive from the charming Greenbank Pantry. Main camp site is the “upper field” where there is room for parking and power/water connections. This is conveniently level with the main road and flat. There is “lower field” that is a trimmed grass field right corner next to the driveway, Finally the “back field” is large, grass field and a fire ring across the northern half of the property. The back field has an unused septic system underground, so we leave the grass and vegetation longer here to attract wildlife and preserve the infrastructure for potential future use. No vehicles allowed in back field.
In the middle of the property is a grove of pine and cedar trees with thick, native salal bushes and rhododendrons crisscrossed with paths created by humans and the local deer population.
Driveway is shared by neighboring property so wave and smile if our neighbors walk or drive out to the main road, and please be respectful of their property line and follow the local culture of 'live and let live'.

We are expanding our farm stand, in addition to eggs you will now find seasonal produce, firewood when fires are permitted and souvenirs made by folks who live and work on our farm.
Both campsites are unimproved spots in our future silvopasture food forest. Located on the "back four" acres of our property, they're surrounded by trees and seclusion. We back to a small airport and are near a main road and you will probably hear traffic. Both campsites have trees and space protecting them from views of people or development. We improved our road in 2022 so bring your vehicle with no worries.
We're just outside of the busy part of Port Townsend and close to farms, beaches and historic sites. Go into town for festivals, restaurants and the farmer's market. Chimacum, just two miles away, has several nice restaurants, breweries and farms that offer tours. We're two miles from restaurants, hardware stores and a grocery store in Port Hadlock.
We're just 45 minutes from Olympic National Park and 2 hours to the Olympic Peninsula Coast so we're a great stop over.

The spot includes power and water, but no sewer hookup. It’s ideal for travelers who value privacy, quiet, and nature while still being close to town. Just about 90 minutes from Seattle!
RVs only, as we do not have bathrooms or shower facilities. We also have a strict policy prohibiting the dumping of any wastewater, including gray water, black water, or compostable waste, anywhere on the property.

I had an amazing Fourth of July weekend at Island Retreat Campsite. It was such a relaxing and peaceful couple of days.
I made an amazing steak dinner over the campfire, and in the morning, I took my dogs down to the beach for a walk and a swim. One of the highlights of the weekend was an incredible encounter with an eagle that flew within about five feet of my shoulder—an experience I’ll never forget!
Saturday afternoon I went to the farmers market in Coupeville and later had a delicious lunch at Front Street Grill. I recommend the Saffron Mussels.
If your going to be on Whidbey island camping I highly recommend Island Retreat Campsite if you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet weekend. The amenities are well kept, with clean bathrooms, a solar shower, barbecue facilities, and firewood available at a reasonable price.
One tip: if you’re visiting during the hot, dry season, be sure to check for any burn bans before having a campfire.

I So appreciate the healthy air in the restroom! There were no air fresheners automatically spraying toxic chemicals! This is such a great place to stay. It's a low key well organized basic campground that offers flush toilets, clean showers, electric and water hookups and septic dumping. The proximity to stores, restaurants and recreational options is perfect, far enough away to be peaceful yet close enough to easily get to whatever you want. And finally, the hosts were top notch, such pleasant people who were doing good work.

Super well kept site with a cute general store on site in case you forgot something. Restrooms were clean and showers included in the private restrooms as well.
Overall campgrounds were nice and tidy. Quiet ambiance! Very peaceful.

Nothing fancy, but the site is relatively level, the showers are hot, it’s quiet, and the price is cheaper than anything equivalent in town. (Seriously, the showers!) clean, friendly and responsive hosts, safe, close to ALL the things. We spent so much time hiking, going to the beach, shopping, this was the perfect place to rest and recharge in between. My only complaint is that the road on the way is quite narrow due to the bike lane, but that’s the main road. It’s actually very easy to maneuver once you’re at the fairgrounds themselves. Will stay again!

Just a quick easy quiet stop to explore from if that’s your plan. Close to everything. I just stopped to sleep but hookups convenient and I really appreciated the hot clean showers being available at no extra cost.
I would stay again for the same reasons.

Really enjoyed staying here. The campground has a great common area with a microwave, refrigerator, oven, and stove, which made cooking and relaxing much more convenient. The shower facilities were also clean and well maintained, making it easy to freshen up after a day outdoors. Overall, the campground is comfortable, well-equipped, and a great place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it.

Most RV parks are just boring parking lots, but Crescent Beach is special because it is surrounded by the abundant beauty of nature. On the south side is a grassy meadow with a meandering creak that begs to be explored by kayak. On the other side is the beautiful Crescent Beach, with perfect soft sand the interesting Salt Creek campground just to the East. There is also excellent tide pooling to be done at Tongue point on low tides.

The site was clean, easy to pull into, and we appreciated the gazebo to sit under. The electricity and water hookups worked well. It was exactly as described. Our kids enjoyed seeing a doe and fawn on the property along with lots of bunnies and a Great horned owl. The hosts gave us plenty of space. We had fun seeing the sites on Whidbey and using their property as our homebase. The proximity to Deception Pass was extremely convenient and we loved that. It was great that we could use the wifi and it worked perfectly. We heard jet noise every so often noise but not late at night so we still slept soundly. Thank you for a nice stay!

Pretty amazing private beach to spend two days. A few comments to add to others... clean bathrooms, close proximity to many activities and an organized and kind host. Mosquitos from Salt Creek were abundant. The road is not busy but it is a road between the camp site and the beach. Sites are for RVs so they are long and thin, which makes it a snug fit. I was in a van with a tent. I knew all of this going in, but something to be think about for others. Price feels a bit high, but overall, I would recommend it, esp. the beach sunset.
