The lofted full bed is cozy, but don’t bop your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows. Everything is washed with free and clear detergent for sensitivities. We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove, coffee supplies (keurig pods,pour over coffee with creamer/sugar), wine opener, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors. One block away is Highland Park which has a tennis court and baseball field. A mile north, explore the West Duwamish Greenbelt Trails. 2 blocks south is Westcrest Park that hosts a community garden, a dog park, and small trails in their greenbelt. You’re also walking distance to downtown White Center, which has breweries, a roller skating rink, a gay bar, and plenty of coffee shops/restaurants.

These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. The Steilacoom ferry to Anderson Island leaves from the wonderful historic town of Steilacoom which is also well worth visiting. There is no smoking of any kind in the cabin or on the property. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: The cabin is older and rustic, and we are renovating it over time. There is a very steep/narrow staircase that excesses the second floor, and the twin bed artea is part of the lofty and is not an enclosed bedroom. The living space and kitchen are open concept, and there is seating for 4 at the dining room table and 2 countertop barstools as well. The adorable farmhouse style kitchen has everything you need to cook meals during your stay, including all cooking essentials and basic spices. We also have pancake mix and quick oats for our guests in case you forgot to bring your own breakfast. If you are lucky enough to stay in late summer, you can walk across the street to pick wild blackberries. The living room has a large TV and a nice selection of DVDs to choose from. We also have Starlink for both internet and streaming services. Cell service can be hit or miss depending on provider. The bathroom is on the lower level, as well as the first bedroom which has a queen bed. The 2nd bedroom opens up with a barn door and also has a queen bed as well as beautiful views of the creek and trees. For this reason it is my favorite bedroom! At the bottom of the stairs is the mud room which is a an enclosed patio and is a great place to store recreational equipment or wet/muddy items. It also allows excess to one of the decks which features outdoor seating and a bbq.

I call this opportunity "Wild Card Camping" because what I'm offering isn't typical: camping plus limited, shared use of my empty vacation cabin while it's being renovated for a fall rental. Inside, guests have access to a bathroom with a shower, Wi-Fi, plus a table and chairs for air-conditioned relaxation with fellow campers on hot days. The cabin is otherwise unfurnished. For a small fee ($3), you can also arrange to use the laundry. There is room for one camp site in a small field below the cabin. There is a second "site" for one or two people who would like to "camp" in one of the bedrooms. You provide all of the contents of the room. Call it an "ADU" for non-campers or an elderly but still feisty person. Pets are allowed at the site for $10 per pet/per booking. If you would like to bring a pet, please add the Pet Fee which is listed as an Extra during the booking proc Here's why the location is so special: A short 10- to 15-minute walk through the nearby historic hamlet of Ellisport brings you to KVI, the island's largest sand spit and one of its best beaches. You can also launch a kayak or paddleboard from Crow Beach, a sandy shoreline right next to the bus stop and even closer to your campsite. During July and August, you can pick blackberries on the property, listen to owls at night, hear eagles and ospreys calling during the day, and maybe even spot a deer wandering through. Hike or bike to a local café for coffee and pastries, or hop on the Route 119 bus (weekdays only), which stops next to Crow Beach, and head into town to shop or dine at one of Vashon's wonderful restaurants. Ride the bus in the other direction to hike the bluffs at the south end of Maury Island. Visit the golf course for a meal or a round of golf, or purchase a $17 day pass to the Vashon Athletic Club if you'd like to work out. You can also take the bus to either the north or south ferry terminal for day trips to Seattle or Tacoma. Wild Card Camping is located at the end of a dirt driveway off a road that has commuter traffic on weekday mornings and evenings. Traffic can also be heavier on summer weekends, but the area is generally very quiet during the middle of the day and after 6:00 p.m.

Fred’s cabin was seriously the perf ct weekend get-away for my husband and I! The property was so peaceful and beautiful, the cabin was warm and very comfortable, had all the amenities we needed. We had so much fun exploring the island on the electric bikes! Definitely recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to Coffee Creek Community & Gardens

My sweetie and I had an amazing time staying here! We needed a quick, relaxing weekend away from Seattle and the Coffee Creek farm and hosts absolutely delivered. My favorite thing was the very cozy loft bed, watching the light pouring in the windows through the trees. It’s a working farm, so there was activity happening nearby, but the cabin felt very private and calm. It was well-stocked with everything we needed to make meals in the cabin, a very efficient wood stove to keep us warm, and full of charm. The nighttime hot tub was lovely, piping hot and surrounded by a chorus of owls, coyotes (at a far distance), and frogs. Mokey was an excellent host - communicative, generous, and welcoming. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Weekend Trip to Cedar River Retreat

We loved staying at Cedar River Cabin! Very comfortable for 2 adults and 3 kids. Everything was as expected plus more. Trail nearby, plenty of wildlife, whimsy, and beautiful scenery made us feel full of gratitude. Highly recommend!

1 night at The Village at Rainier

Perfect little cabin. Quaint by cozy. Would stay again but one thing to note is there is hot water showers listed, however it only lasted for about 1 minute. Not a problem if you stay during the warm summer months, but during the chilly fall months it’s worth knowing

We absolutely loved our stay here! My fiancé and I stayed after he proposed to me at the park, and it was the perfect private and beautiful place to celebrate such a special moment. We wanted to camp and have an off-the-grid experience, and this stay gave us exactly the peaceful, secluded feel we were looking for while still being incredibly comfortable. The hosts were amazing, kind and welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate our engagement. I highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful getaway!

Had a really restful and restorative weekend in this little cabin! Dawson was super chill, got a couple things in need of fixing done quick, and was very respectful about privacy. The sauna was great and a really nice add-on since it was an extremely rainy weekend. The cabin smelled like fresh wood (love!) and everything was functional, but not perfect or precious, which is where the real relaxation happens for me. It was an easy, low-barrier destination for a solo trip where all I really wanted was deep decompression within four cozy walls, and it definitely delivered!

Had a great stay! After camping in Olympic NP, we stayed three nights before heading straight to Mt. Rainier SP. We ended up staying and enjoying the place more than expected, since we're usually constantly on the go exploring. It was a great experience, and we would love to come back.

Weekend Trip to Forest Farm Camping & Coffee

Excellent getaway experience. My wife and sister in law had an urge to sleep among tall trees but didn’t want to lug a ton of camping gear. This was perfect. You really felt like you were in the forest and it was very quiet at night. The A frames are brilliant structures and Clare and her co-hosts made us feel very welcome. The porta potty was super clean. I recommend bringing camp slippers for the nightly bathroom run. Also if you’re unfamiliar with cots and hammocks be sure to bring a thermarest pad or air mattress as you can get cold from behind. Location is very accessible to Poulsbo center, Port Gamble, Foulweather preserve. And the ferry from Edmonds is nice for your out of town guests. Would definitely do it again.

Weekend Trip to Coffee Creek Community & Gardens

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here! Absolutely gorgeous property. Host was very communicative and provided great directions, even recommended local spots to check out during our visit. The space was insanely stocked I was so surprised! Everything down to a can opener (came in clutch for dinner lol). Clean space, super quiet and private which is so surprising considering how close downtown is. My partner and I are both POC and get nervous staying in rural areas, but this space was so friendly and welcoming that we didn’t even feel the need to lock the door once during our stay. Lots of awesome wildlife around too! If you’re looking for a lovely getaway with easy access to town, 11/10 recommend this space. Thank you Mokey!!

This forest retreat was adorable! Cedar River has everything you need to have a good time from string lights to the trail nearby. Site felt secluded with plenty of us to set up tents alongside the cabin. We especially loved the bonus experience of live music and food up at the main house for the Forest Session with Kurt Lindsay. Definitely worth it.
