Didn't know you could milk a sheep? Or thought only cows made cheese? Try your hand milking sheep or feeding lambs or learning about beavers on this seasonal working ranch here in Eastern Oregon. Lambs are born in the spring and their moms are milked all summer long.
I raise my sheep on fresh grass and sunshine. Come see for yourself here on the ranch.
Pitch a tent on the pasture and literally count the sheep around you before falling asleep or climb the hill and see for miles in every direction. We may be close to the road, but it doesn't feel like it.
We can accommodate campers, RVs, trucks, tents, and vans. 4 sites to chose from.
Each site has access to an outhouse, potable water, picnic tables, trash disposal, and we allow campfires (outside of burn bans), and pets.
We also sell fresh eggs, firewood, and lamb sausage.

Play in Hood River during the day, relax in the country at night. We're 6.5 miles up in the hills, called High Prairie, above the sleepy town Lyle.
Enjoy the peace on our 5 acre hideaway, wake up with the chickens.
Take a walk to look at Mt. Adams which is just around the corner. Hiking, biking, kite boarding, windsurfing all within a few miles of reach with never ending opportunities to get your exercise. Just ask for tips.
The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, country cafe, Chinese restaurant, and new to our town "Confluence Cafe" right at the entrance by the Klickitat River - Awesome views - yummy treats and coffee. Matt and Ali are super cool, go check it out.
Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or
The Dalles. Once up here, there isn't much, so come prepared.

Private and quiet lower camp despite the nearby road. Zero mosquitos. Nadja was a fantastic and authentic host, even gave us baked apricot strudel and extra veggies from her garden! A herd of deer and some wild turkeys came through. We would definitely stay with her again!
Note: If you have a dog, keep them near your tent/camper as it is the time of year for burrs. Our dog was covered with them.

This is more than a normal, boring campground. Below the surface there’s a lot going on here so this is a good destination for the curious. When Walt asks if you have any questions, ask.
I stayed during 94-degree heat. A burn ban was in effect, which I suspect is common for this dry area. Check before you book if that’s important to you. There was also a usable stove on the spot. There is a working shower with warm water, which is nice.
It was very, very quiet.

We had a wonderful time staying at Terry’s farm. Getting to help herd and milk the sheep was a great experience! Our kids loved bottle feeding several lambs and I enjoyed my early morning conversation with Terry about life as a small-scale farmer. We hope to get back there soon!

We didn’t quite know what to expect when we visited Terrys farm, but we immediately fell in love with the place and with Terry. We got to milk sheep, eat some incredible homemade ice cream, pet the cute farm dogs and sleep under the stars. This was truly a 10/10 experience and we can’t wait to come back with our friends!

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. It was clean and spacious with plenty of room for our dog to run around. It is surrounded by beautiful oak trees and since the leaves hadn’t come in yet, there was plenty of sunlight, 0which was great for keeping our solar panels charged. There is a big opening to 0 sky so you would still get some good sun and views even with the trees filled in.
Nadja was really nice and helpful, making sure we had what we needed. She was super thoughtful and provided a ton of good suggestions and even let us borrow bug spray for our dog for hiking.
Currently, water is available at the top of the driveway. We have a 20ft trailer and were able to manage it without any issues. But Nadja did mention she may be bring a hose down to the site.
There was a bit of road noise during the day, but it wasn’t constant and was much quieter than the main roads. At night, the site was pretty quiet and very peaceful.
It’s a beautiful spot and we had a comfortable and relaxing stay. It was a great place to hang out at and a nice location for surrounding hikes.

We had a fantastic visit at the farm. You can basically pick your spot to camp. We chose the more private area but I think that's what makes this place special. Want a weekend filled with all the animals? Go for it. Want some alone time out in the country with no distractions? Have at it. Terry is a great host with a ton of spunk. We will definitely be back. Quiet, pastoral and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-nights stay at the Herland Forest. Walt Patrick is a wonderful host and a true Practitioner and Believer of Sustainability. He even took us for a tour of his domesticated animals (sheep, lambs, goats and chickens)!

We had an incredible time camping at Tin Willows farm. Terry is very welcoming and kind and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels comfortable while staying at her farm.
