Country vibe but close to restaurants, and outdoor activities near by making it a great base for activities such as mountain biking, road biking, hiking, skiing/boarding, and the floating/fishing on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. The wooded area is next to my house. There's about 4 acres to explore and a gravel road rarely traveled for a nice walk to a view for a great sunset. Harrisonburg is 5 minutes from here and has lots of night life, micro breweries etc. I have long power cords if you need electric at the campsite. You may hear owls hooting at night. The campsite is under white pines with a thick bed of pine needles. There are several campsites under the red cedar trees that are naturally bug and mosquito resistant. Shenandoah National Park is about 45 minutes away if you go to the 33 entrance and 45 minutes away to go to the Luray entrance. Lots of bears there and hikes to waterfalls. No hunting there. Solar panels provide half of my energy needs. GW National forest has lots of hiking and mt biking and is half an hour away. Great views of the mountains from the campsite area. I'm dedicated to having lots of native plants and trees. I do not spray any pesticides. Plenty of free firewood. Not too far off interstate 81. I give tours of the mushroom farm whenever the weather isn't below freezing. I don't recommend anything larger than a conversion van. Very small pull behind campers are OK . All campers are required to leave every day from 1 to 5. Belongings may be kept here. There is a bathroom inside the house. No showers , please guys relieve yourself behind a tree instead of tying up a bathroom .. Harpine Highway is nearby and does have some trafffic noise but it's not close enough to discourage most campers.

This is an active 55-acre horse farm. About 2/3rds of the property is developed with barns and fenced pastures and the other third is largely undeveloped areas with a loop driveway where most of the camp sites are located. There is a large white house at the far end of the property. The restroom for campers to use is located there. To one side of the driveway, on the way to the house there is a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo.
The property is unique in that you can hardly see another house from anywhere on the property and yet we are only 2 miles from Barracks Rd. Shopping Center, and 4 miles from the University of Virginia.

Easy breezy! We arrived late and a “late arrivals” packet was waiting for us. Our site was clean and the hookups worked perfectly. The trash area was also clean. The little store was really cute but limited - so come prepared.
Neighbors were quiet. Views beautiful!
They even have a dog park!!

After a 5 day stay last year, it was a no-brainer to spend a night here when traveling through this year. We got pizza at the food truck, parked beside Elkton Brewery and had a tasty brew while waiting. Love the view and friendly hosts at Awesome Views. Thanks, and hope to see you again.

Great camp. This was our first time with our new travel trailer. Host was great. Terrific amenities including frisbee golf. Great store. Bathrooms were spotless. Whole property is clean. Watch the sunset from the field above the fishing pond. Fantastic

They made our stay easier by moving us to a better pull through site. Also, they had some fun Easter activities for the kids. The view was beautiful and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely stay at Swedish Lilac Campground. It was so peaceful and quiet. We camped right next to the river - the kids loved playing in it and we loved the peaceful sound of the flowing water. The shower and bathrooms were nice and clean! And the owners were very friendly and gave us great recommendations of things to do! We hope to go back again!!

This is our second time here we were here a few years ago and it’s still awesome. Super nice host very peaceful a great field to fly a kite in. Also, it’s pretty close to entrance ramp to skyline Drive.
