You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed.
You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well.

There are three campsites on the farm, one by the pond and two by the river. Very secluded and all sites include , firepit, log bench,
and a picnic table that seats 3-4 people. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN FIREWOOD. AT THIS TIME WE ARE OUT FOR THE SEASON.
The original river campsite has been moved to a more remote spot so that all campers can access the pond and pier to the river.
Farm encompasses nearly 300 acres on the Patuxent River. There is access to the river on high tide via our private creek (must bring your own canoe or kayak) and 150 acres of marshland. Over 100 acres of woods to walk through and a pond for wildlife watching.

Bald Eagle Farm has been in our family for three generations. Today two generations still live and operate the family farm. We once raised tobacco and cattle and have now converted to growing hay and grain. My family wants to share the views and the experience of sleeping under the stars
on our beautiful secluded farm. You will hear nothing but the wind, birds, frogs and insects while you doze off or enjoy the dark sky and camp fire.
We live on the farm so we are always here to help you out if needed. We can provide you with water from our deep well. We are here to make your stay as comfortable as possible and provide a restroom in the case of an "emergency".

There are three campsites on the farm, one by the pond and two by the river. Very secluded and all sites include , firepit, log bench,
and a picnic table that seats 3-4 people. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN FIREWOOD. AT THIS TIME WE ARE OUT FOR THE SEASON.
The original river campsite has been moved to a more remote spot so that all campers can access the pond and pier to the river.
Farm encompasses nearly 300 acres on the Patuxent River. There is access to the river on high tide via our private creek (must bring your own canoe or kayak) and 150 acres of marshland. Over 100 acres of woods to walk through and a pond for wildlife watching.

We are located in Comus, MD, at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain in the heart of the Agricultural Reserve.
Beneath the pavilion: There is one large wood burning grill suitable for cooking food, one belly stove for ambience/heat and 3 fire rings to build your own fire. Firewood is provided upon request.
There are no designated parking spots for now. Feel free to park wherever suits. Potable water is in the barn along with a flush toilet.
One 30A outlet is located on the side of the barn inside the paddock next to the horse washing station.
Other outlets are located inside the barn, outside the hay barn and run-in sheds; also, on the other side of the barn outside the paddock.
Duck eggs are provided as a courtesy welcome gift and are contingent (for purchase) on availability.

The place is amazing! Me my wife and our fur baby loved everything about the place. It has a rustic vibe surrounded by farm animals and wild life! The only thing I would have changed was we didn’t stay long enough! The fresh eggs were amazing to have for breakfast, wish I would have got more than just a dozen. And Rodney, the host was such great guy. You have your own little private spot to just sit back and enjoy. We will definitely be coming back in the short future to see the horses, goats, and other animals again.

I stayed at Conus SKY Farm (now known as Camp Comus) multiple times in my RV. I love the farm animals, the Camp Hosts, the solitude, and the feel of the forest. 20, 30, and 50 amp electric, bathroom, and central water source is available. I will definitely be back next year.

Wow what a great place to camp! Mr Rudy and his wife were GEMS! very welcoming and made sure our kids had a great time. They made sure we had everything we needed for a great day and night and also took everybody around to feed bunnies,chickens,sheep,goats and even alpacas! It was also cool to see the alpacas roam freely around the campsite. Porta potty was also on site and was clean to use. We will Definitely be back!

My husband, myself, our kids and grandkids all met up at this amazing farm just overnight for a wonderful and rare campfire get together, but wished we had stayed longer. The grandkids loved all the animals but especially Zeus, the big, super sweet dog of the property!
The expansive property accommodates RVs well with plenty of space to be private yet camp amongst the animals. Our camp host greeted us, got us set up with power, and told us all about the workings of the farm and all that was available to us on the property. These extras that you don’t normally get at most Hipcamp properties was really cool! A barn with a restroom and gathering area where chili was available the night we were there along with many homemade and local goodies like shortbread cookies, honey, dried lavender sachets and produce for purchase. We happily donated a small amount toward taking care of the rescued animals on the farm.
A couple of our kids and their families live in the area so we will definitely be back! Thanks Juanita it was a pleasure!!

Overall a decent stay. The staff at the brewery were confused about check in but we got it sorted out. It was in the colder season so we had a lot of privacy which was really nice. We enjoyed the ability to hang at the brewery/vineyard with other campers and we appreciated bathrooms available after hours. The butter beer and white wine hot apple cider were just what we needed that chilly night. Would stay again but my only complaint was it was hard to find a flat spot to set up. We found a decently flat spot but since we were sleeping directly on a mat on the ground we were shifting/sliding all night- prob would’ve been fine for a RV camper though.

This is a beautiful place with lots of space. We didn't have time to try the wines, but the beer at 1781 brewing (on the property) was excellent. Staff that we interacted with was very friendly. There are horses, chickens, geese and possibly cattle on the property, along with a beautiful pond. Although you can hear the truck traffic on Rt 3, it's not too bad. We had a quiet night to ourselves and the sunrise over the the grapevines was just extra.

The site itself is very private, spacious, and well-maintained — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors without feeling crowded. Derek, the owner, is always incredibly accommodating and goes above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need. Juanita's horse farm has plenty of room for RV and tent campers. I enjoyed the quiet country feel, the animals (her sweet dogs, the ducks and geese and the neighbors horse), and the solitude of walking her trails surrounded by autumn trees. The camp hosts are absolutely fantastic. Friendly, accommodating, and generous. They made me feel like family.
The Comus Inn restaurant is a hidden jewel. There are lots of nearby areas to explore, breweries and wineries to sample, and the trails of Sugarloaf mountain are worth your time. I plan to return next year at this time.

4 nights at Camping on the Hazel River
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin! I communicated with Peggy through the HipCamp app, and she was very responsive and helpful. When we arrived, Tony met us at the parking area, showed us to the cabin, and took the time to explain how everything worked. He was incredibly kind, accommodating, and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great experience.
The cabin itself was spotless, rustic, and very cozy — exactly what we were hoping for. It has just the right amount of amenities: a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven, running water, and just enough hot water for a quick shower. The outdoor shower was one of our favorite parts — it felt peaceful and refreshing every time we used it.
Before our trip, we asked if there was a way to cook outside, and Tony went above and beyond. He actually built a wonderful fire pit setup designed for cooking, which we used every day. It was such a fun and memorable part of our stay, and Tony even provided all the firewood we could possibly need.
The property is beautiful, well maintained, and surrounded by about one to two miles of lovely hiking trails. It was quiet, private, and felt like our own little hideaway in nature. Tony gave us plenty of space while still being available if we needed anything.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a cozy, peaceful escape!
