You have your choice of camping with your van or small RV, small trailer or tent, in a level, forested area (not lakeside) with picnic table and fire pit, or tenting lakeside with water views, picnic table and fire pit, or both! You have access to both, one reservation comes with both spots, so you can enjoy the lakeside regardless of where you sleep. Vehicles cannot reach the tent site, it is a steep trail about a 150 feet. Although our campsite is near the lake, you cannot drive to the water from the campsite. It is a steep, short hike down to the water. There is one canoe at the campsite you are free to use or bring your own canoes, kayaks and/ or paddle boards to enjoy the superb water. There are no motor boats on the lake, so the paddling and swimming is great. There are three private homes on the lake, adjacent to where your site it located so we ask that no loud partying, play music only quietly and no generators. There are no campers on either side of your campsite, we only offer one, campsite. There is a nice, clean outhouse and no other amenities (Tier D in HipCamp-speak). No on-site water but it can be obtained at our house, just ask. We have a dog on the property, who is friendly and off leash. If having a dog come visit would be a problem for you, please don't make a reservation. If you plan on bringing a dog please let us know. No more than two dogs allowed.

The Rooney Farm is an 820 acre working organic dairy farm and maple sugarbush in Morristown, VT that has been stewarded by the Rooney family for four generations. We milk a herd of fifty holstein, jersey, guernsey, and ayrshire cows. We are right off the Long Trail, Catamount Trail, and VAST trail systems. We have mountain bike trails on the farm as well as a great swimming hole. We have miles of hiking trails that link up to the Beaver Meadow trail network in the Vermont State Forest as well as Morristown Forest trails. Our camp has two full size beds and sleeps four people. The camp is not winterized: will protect you from wind and snow but not the cold!

We had another fantastic stay at "For Dogs Farm". Brian is welcoming and his dogs are friendly. The lean-to is still in great shape, well-stocked with firewood, the privy is now located very close-by which is much more convenient. There was heat tape on the water pipes for the outdoor shower to prevent them from freezing and sufficient hot water so we were able to use that. We were also able to drive right up to the lean-to this time as the fields were dry. Our host was available if we were to have any issues or need anything (we did not). Our dog was able to play a little bit with the host dogs (there are 3 spaniel-type energetic pups). The views were spectacular as always.

We absolutely loved our stay at Julie and Jim's land with our pups! The property was beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly private. There was so much to do, from exploring the trails through the woods to relaxing by the water. We especially loved taking out the little pedal boat for a spin. Julie and Jim truly thought of everything to make the stay comfortable, and the bathroom was the best one we have seen on hipcamp yet. This Hipcamp sight was by far the best sight we have ever stayed on. They go above and beyond and absolutely are inspirational with what they have done . It was completely peaceful easy to get to with well marked directions. The grounds were manicured and they had everything we needed to be comfortable. They were very friendly and walked out to meet us after we arrived as if we were old friends. On a scale of 1-5 I give it a six. Perhaps the first sight we have stayed on we could not find anything to improve upon.
