Weekend Trip to Streeter Mountain Farm

My son and I loved this unique glamping experience! Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and we even met someone who is also from Maryland, like us! We especially loved the hammock by the water and the cats. Such a beautiful, peaceful space. Thank you for sharing with us!

2 nights at Shaker Mountain Refuge

Medora’s coyote lean-to is adorable and the views are absolutely stunning! The bed was comfy, the toilet clean, and we appreciated that firewood and kindling were included. Medora and her two dogs (Cookie and Posy) are sweet as can be.

My husband and I loved being able to stay at The Dome with our pups for a night. The river is absolutely beautiful, we went in the swimming home as well as the falls. The property is private, well taken care of and soooo peaceful! The Dome took out breaths away. We knew it was still a work in progress but we absolutely loved it. We’ll be back here in no time! Betsey's camp site was perfect for my solo personal retreat. It was restful to come to a beautiful campsite that was already set up for sleeping and eating - laying in a hammock, or sitting by a fire! The other campsites nearby made it feel like a small campground. It was quiet and peaceful. Nearby activities which I enjoyed: hiking Mt. Pisgah, swimming in Lake Willoughby, biking Kingdom trails.

Betsy was an amazing host. Everything was thought through, very clean and comfortable mattress and great lighting. She even put hot water in the shower basin in the afternoon so it was a perfect temp when you needed it after biking. They have built some fun jumps on the land which was entertaining for my kids. We really appreciated being able to bring our dog.

Betsey has created the most beautiful sanctuary space on her property with Green Mountain Glamping. The Pine Haven canvas tent was perfect for my family of four! The tent was so cozy and comfortable and we all slept so well! A major bonus was the hammock. We didn't have room in our car for all of our camping gear along with our bikes, so Pine Haven was just the answer. I so appreciated the French press to make coffee along with all the necessary dishes. We highly recommend Betsey and Green Mt Glamping!

The campsite is beautiful! The rocks in the brook by the hammock area were slippery but we just moved downstream a short distance. it was sandier and better for our girls to cool off and wade in the water. Wonderful experience!

From the moment we pulled into our site, we were blown away. The tent was outfitted with proper beds/mattresses. Our host, Betsey, had literally thought of everything from bug spray to flashlight, to a fully equipped camping kitchen including biodegradable camp soap, sponge, and napkins. There were fresh towels, and the portable toilets were kept neat and clean. When the sun went down, solar-powered fairy lights illuminated our tent, which blew my teenage daughters' minds. This will go down as one of our best camping trips ever, all thanks to Betsey's thoughtful touches.

A Cozy Adventure in Nature Stayed: June 27–29 | Location: Bethlehem, Grafton, NH My husband and I had an unforgettable stay at this luxury tent nestled deep in the woods of Grafton, NH. From the moment we arrived, we felt immersed in nature, the peace and quiet of the forest, the fresh mountain air, and the simplicity of being off-grid made it a truly refreshing escape. The first night was a bit adventurous, as the weather turned rough just as we checked in. But once we settled into the warm, cozy bed near the wood stove, we slept like babies. Even being six months pregnant, I felt incredibly comfortable , something I was initially worried about. My husband had his doubts too, but the host was incredibly reassuring and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. The mattress was cozy and supportive, and the tent stayed warm through the night. One of the highlights of our stay was hiking about 15–20 minutes from camp to catch a stunning view of Mt. Agassiz. The weather cleared up beautifully the next day, and standing there, surrounded by trees with the mountain in view, was pure magic. We also enjoyed gathering wood and cooking our own meals at the site, a simple pleasure that added to the sense of adventure. Bathing in the wild was a unique and freeing experience! And at night, the stargazing was surreal, with no city lights around, the sky was pitch black and full of stars. The cozy fairy lights around the tent created such a warm, calming atmosphere.

2 nights at Deer Bear Mountain View

Craig was an extremely responsive host...often responding in a few minutes. He stopped by for a bike ride and to show me around the campsite. We stayed in what was a storage shed outfitted with beds, chairs, solar USB charger, a dresser and a 5 gal. water cooler. It was hot and stuffy in there, but we brought a battery powered fan which kept us cool. The shed was extremely clean. We used the composting toilet, which worked fine. There are picnic tables, a fire ring and a fire pit. There is also a gas grill that we did not use. Campsite is a 15 minute drive from Franconia Notch State Park and 5 minutes from downtown Littleton, which has plenty of eateries, a movie theatre and retail stores.

Amazing spot! It was so secluded and the stars at night were amazing! We stayed in the Serenity Dome which was a perfect distance to the bathroom and overlooked a beautiful grass field. It had everything we needed and we will definitely be coming back.

Weekend Trip to Fern Hollow

We loved staying at the Yurt this past weekend. The location was easy to find and very centrally located in the Sugarbush area. We were minutes drive from swimming, hiking and restaurants. The facilities were rustic but clean. We had a great time meeting folks at the fire pit and cooking area. The fire files were like fireworks and we slept great other than the 3:00 visit by a pair of owls (I think they were owls, totally worth it). Laura was very responsive and her sister and partner checked in with us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed.

Located three miles up on Stoney Brook road with a beautiful stretch of the brook passing through the property. Our property is nestled in the foothills of the Mad River Valley, close to the headwaters of the river. The property is composed of wetlands, agricultural meadows, old apple trees, and hardwood forest with 700 feet of elevation. All structures on the property are solar-powered and a rainwater system feeds the sink in the outdoor kitchen. There are a handful of individual camp sites available in the spring, summer and fall, as well as a communal outdoor kitchen with lighting, a fire pit, a stone pizza oven and a sitting/yoga deck. Our tent and yurt sites are located on 5 acres of private woods and are 4 acres apart to allow for maximum privacy for our guests! Parking for both sites are shared. The tent is 50 yards up a rustic wooded path through the woods and the yurt is an 800 yard (10 minute) uphill walk from the parking area. Both sites are adjacent to our local network of hiking/biking trails that connect to the summit of Mount Agassiz, which offers stunning views of Franconia Notch. Additionally, within a half hour drive, you have access to some of the best hiking in the North East. We are happy to provide recommendations! The surrounding towns are home to three different breweries, numerous restaurants serving up delicious food and quaint main streets. Clay Hill Corners Blueberry Farm

Come stay on our quiet and scenic farm. Easily accessible from Rt 89 and Rt 4. Our Pick Your Own Blueberry fields open in July. Clay Hill Corners is a 10 acre working Blueberry Farm. We have PYO Blueberries and a farm stand open from mid July to August. We sell organically grown blueberries and produce locally. Learn more about this land: Our private Sugar Shack is at the end of our blueberry fields and faces the forest. The Sugar Shack sleeps two in a comfy double bed with clean sheets and a fleece blanket. I wash the linens and blanket in hot water for each and every booking. Please bring your own extra blankets or sleeping bag if the weather is cold. An additional clean quilt with duvet cover can be added for a $ 10 per booking fee. There is a small porch, a charcoal grill, four chairs, a hammock, a fire ring, fire wood, clean potable cold water, a solar shower, and an outhouse. We provide the firewood for the fire ring and we provide charcoal and lighter fluid for the charcoal grill. There is space available next to Sugar Shack in the field for additional tents or small RVs. (There is no electricity.) The upcharge for additional campers after the first two people is $5 per person per night. Hiking trails through field and forest start at your door. We have a 3 mile round trip hike to Harlow Brook with a map. We are on the edge of a wildlife corridor and often see deer, coyotes, fox, waterfowl, songbirds and the occasional bear. (Keep food in your car at night so that the bear does not eat it!) We are above the Ottauquechee River at North Hartland Lake. We have rentable canoes and a kayak. We can transport you to and pick you up for a canoe trip on the Connecticut River or to North Hartland Lake.. We are located two miles from Quechee, 7 miles from historic Woodstock to the west, and 7 miles to hip White River Junction to the east and 8 1/2 miles to Dartmouth College and the Appalachian Trail. There are fun casual restaurants with some sit down and take-out nearby and our local Jakes Market can provide you with a nice selection of groceries. Hot Air Balloon pilots often take off and land in our fields and it is always a magical site. We can connect you with local pilots if you wish to purchase a Balloon Adventure.

Rustic and Comfortable Cabins. No power lines cross our property. We have no blaring screens to distract us from the sound of the wind in the leaves or to call us back to the whirl of modern life. But that does not mean we are without any comforts. Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, hot and cold running spring water, indoor bathroom, and overhead LP gas lamps. Nestled in the forest at meadow's edge, Cold Spring Cabin has an outdoor shower and indoor tub. Perched on a hill near the Farm Pond, Ripley Hill Cabin has an indoor shower and tub. The cabins are rustic, but clean and airy. The luxuries at Forest Echo Farm are not inside the cabins; they are found in the light that fills the forest in late afternoon, the silence of an evening canoe and the moonlit sparkle of dewdrops at midnight. Forest Echo Farm includes 360 acres, extensive shore to a 26-acre protected pond, numerous trails, and half a mountain. The Farm Pond offers a refreshing ‘dip’ to cool off. A hike from each cabin leads to Tiny Pond, an unspoiled lake where canoe, kayak and raft are available for shared use. Hiking trails are on the property. In addition to local trails, the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail are nearby. The surrounding area is chock full of restaurants, antique stores, country stores, bakeries, farm stands, farmers markets, general shopping, historic sites, hiking, swimming holes and scenic drives. Metta Earth Farm Stay

Metta Earth Institute (MEI) is a non-profit educational retreat center in Lincoln, Vermont. With 158 beautiful acres, we are nestled in a bowl of mountains with stunning mountain views in all directions. Meadows, pastureland, and horticultural fields are interspersed with hardwood and evergreen forest, old orchards, stonewalls, seasonal streams, and an enormous variety of wildlife habitat. Walking and hiking places abound, and a magnificent, pure river with clear pools and waterfalls is just a few minutes’ walk down the road. MEI is based on a small-scale diversified, organic, and biodynamically oriented farm with an acre-sized retreat garden and other herb and flower gardens, and 2 food producing greenhouses. We practice regenerative agriculture, carbon farming, and many other environmentally sustainable practices. Main House Front Porch The front porch of the main house has continued to be a wonderful gathering place with outstanding sunset views and surrounding terraced gardens with blossoms and berries that attract hummingbirds and bees. We serve meals from the adjoining big kitchen, and these can be enjoyed on the porch or taken on trays to the nearby Plum Grove, other outdoor settings. The porch is a great place to meet with others or enjoy a place to sit and read. There is also a good internet connection on the porch and a place to charge devices. You are welcome to walk anywhere on Metta Earth land. Or you may want to walk on the surrounding dirt roads, all with very minimal cars and great mountain views or along the river. We can give further directions and information about the region when you are here. Our stays range from basic tent sites to Yurts and Canvas Tents. We have something for everyone. We have four yurts nestled on a knoll among maples, beeches, balsam, and other trees. They each are positioned for a sense of privacy from the others and have little paths connecting them. They all are well loved and humble, beautiful, light filled circular spaces with a round dome skylight, lattice siding, windows with screens for summer use and in winter extra insulation provided by window quilts. Each yurt has a wood stove for colder weather. The yurts are furnished simply with various configurations of single and double beds, tables, chairs, shelving, and sheepskins or other floor rugs. At night a few of the paths are lit with solar lamps, so it is wise to bring a flashlight/headlamp as well. Beeswax candles provide inside night lighting. Some of the yurts have string, solar lights around the inside of the yurt walls. We have 5 bell tents that are lovely, roundish shaped tents with a peak. Four of them are smaller, one-person tents, and one is larger for a couple or 2 people. We provide amattress and pillow with organic bedding and a sheepskin rug, and a simple storage crate/table. It’s a good idea to bring a sleeping bag for extra warmth, especially in the potentially colder shoulder seasons in May and in September. If you have a tent, insulated ground mat, and sleeping gear, we have many inspiring sites in the surrounding forest glades, meadows, and fields. Those who choose to camp have access to outdoor composting toilets, a hot water outside faucet for bucket bathing, and outdoor shower available in the warmer seasons. Camping requires a certain hardiness and adequate gear. Weather during the growing season (May – October) in the mountains of Vermont is unpredictable. Temperatures range from freezing temperatures at night in the spring and fall to gloriously warm days and even hot days.

SiloSide Barn and Homestead

The SiloSide barn and homestead is better known around town as the "Old Somers Farm" in reference to the day when the barn housed 60 head of cows. The farm was a part of the Cabot Creamery Cooperative, and closed this era in the late 1980s. Prior to being a dairy farm consisting of over 500 acres, the property served as a tavern, inn, tannery, and has always been a traditional, well-loved farmhouse. Our farmhouse was built in 1785, and the barn built around the 1830s and expanded in 1941. The soil here is rich, and the forest full of wildlife. We've named our home "SiloSide" as tribute to the magic we feel on the non-road facing, silo-side of the barn, where you'll be camping.
