The tent is 50 yards up a rustic wooded path through the woods and the yurt is an 800 yard (10 minute) uphill walk from the parking area. Both sites are adjacent to our local network of hiking/biking trails that connect to the summit of Mount Agassiz, which offers stunning views of Franconia Notch. Additionally, within a half hour drive, you have access to some of the best hiking in the North East. We are happy to provide recommendations! The surrounding towns are home to three different breweries, numerous restaurants serving up delicious food and quaint main streets. Through the generous permission of surrounding landowners and the stewardship of the Bethlehem Trails Association, guests can access this trail network to enjoy the views from the summit of Mount Agassiz for top notch single-track mountain biking. We are cold weather friendly! We have a wood stove and are insulated! This off-grid yurt is nestled in the forest of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, only 2 miles from Lake Willoughby. It stands in a field atop a hill surrounded by cedar and pine. The yurt provides a true off-grid experience with no cell service, wifi, or electricity. We do provide a generator for pumping water to our outdoor shower and sink. The generator can be used for charging as needed. The yurt is winterized and has a woodstove, making it easy to have warm and cozy nights, even in the middle of winter. We have an outdoor grill and an indoor camp stove. We provide an outhouse and an outdoor shower. Next to the shower is a sink for washing hands and dishes. The yurt comfortably sleeps 4, with one futon sleeping 2 and a bunk bed. There is also an extra mattress on the futon that can be used as a floor mattress so we will accommodate up to 6 but be sure you know each other well!
