The land has over a half a mile of river frontage and several streams, a beautiful varied forest, rambling topography, and plenty of wildlife. Many lessons in tracking may be found as whitetails, moose, black bear, fishers, bobcats, porcupine, coyotes, foxes, mink, ermine, snowshoe hare, wild turkey, and ruffled grouse, are seen and tracked. Full of scenic waterfalls along a Vermont mountain brook, our daughter named the land after dynamite was found during renovations of the former one-room schoolhouse on the property 5 years ago. Naturalists will love the brookside trails, many dipping pools, a zip line, wood-fired hot tub, hammocks, and a privy with a woodland view. There are several scenic campsites on the 150 acres, but only one will be rented each night to ensure a special experience. Wifi and power available across the brook outside the farmhouse as needed. No cell service. Spend lazy days exploring the woods, reading a book in a hammock, or sunning yourself on a rock in the river. A large 16'x20' tent with rain fly well accommodates up to four people. Roxbury is the geographic center of Vermont - which makes it a great basecamp for adventures. Warren / Sugarbush is 20-25 minutes to the west. Montpelier is 20 minutes to the north. My land is easily accessible by main road, has ample parking, and yet cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, wildlife, fireflies and peepers are just outside the door. In the summer season, several organic farmstands and local picturesque swimming holes range between 5-15 minutes away. Autumn's glorious show is on display everywhere you look. Winter offers easy access to groomed VAST trails in the field behind the house and studio. Hopkins Center, AVA Gallery, the Lebanon Opera House, Northern Stage, and a wide array of restaurants are within 20 minutes. The Lyme bridge is now open, so there are more restaurants, trails, activities and the Dartmouth Skiway! Despite the proximity to town and even to my home, the simple studio space is serene in its sumac baby forest. The space is one of a kind, with a giant salvaged chapel window, cathedral ceilings, a candelabra, a clawfoot tub, a quirky outhouse, on-demand hot water, electricity and wifi. The site lists that it sleeps 4? But three is more realistic, and I cannot seem to change it. There is a parking spot available to park across from Deer Road. Take the very short walk to the yurt. Near our site is Green Mountain National Forest to explore. Blueberry Lake is just a short walk down our hill. Blueberry Lake is widely used year round for swimming, ice fishing, seasonal fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Long Trail nearby Bike trails/x country ski trails are connected right to our homestead. Continue on the trail and access some of the best mountain biking trails and snow biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking. Sugarbush Resort is a 10 minute drive and is one of the best ski mountains in the area! There is plenty of room for games in the large field and a separate camp spot overlooking a little water fall and one of our swimming holes. For those who enjoy car camping we have the Apple tree camp site. Located right on the brook with a big rock for sunbathing and a spacious area for tents and rooftop car campers. There are a couple of apple trees to relax in the shade under and a large picnic table and fire pit. Know Town welcomes well mannered dogs (2 per site). We are 420 friendly and geared towards hosting those interested in arts, music, meditation, and ecology. There is virtually no light pollution which makes for optimal stargazing. Also, it should be noted that there is currently no Wi-Fi or cell service. Please be aware that Vermont prohibits out-of-state Firewood. We sell firewood for dome and campfires, and guests are welcome to scavenge the plethora of downed dead wood on the property.

We had a wonderful stay at this pet‑friendly cabin overlooking the Connecticut River. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully cared for. The cabin itself is just as listed; impeccably clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. Jessica, the host, was kind and accommodating throughout our stay. We brought both our cat and dog, and the space worked perfectly for all of us. Jessica provided an electric heater in anticipation of a chilly night, but we didn’t end up needing it—the cabin is well insulated and stayed warm on its own. The outhouse is exactly what you’d expect, but it was clean, well maintained, and easy to use. There were lots of small, well‑considered amenities that made the stay even nicer, and we really appreciated the care that went into creating a welcoming space. We would absolutely recommend this spot and would happily stay again.

Truly one of a kind place. A place to commune with the water and the Vermont landscape. Great base for exploring VT and taking some time to recharge. Chapin is thorough and straightforward with what to expect and what you might need. The wood fired tub is quintessential paired with the cold mountain brook. The tent is simple but robust and cozy to sleep in. Miss it already.

Chapin was very responsive and made everything very easy. The site was absolutely beautiful. Hanging out in the hammocks at the bottom of the hill next to the brook with the fire going can't be beat. Highly recommend checking this place out if you love experiencing the peace and awe of the green mountains as much as I do!

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at this site! The layout was beautiful. The wood-fired hot tub was the highlight for us, but our two goldens would probably say their’s was the river! It was absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t get them out of it the whole time we were there! We got to meet Chapin, his wife, and a couple of their friends. They were so warm and welcoming. Our goldens even got to have a play session with Chapin’s dog, which they loved! We highly recommend this place!

Such a unique huge “tent” , complete with bed, sitting areas to cozy up in, a cool wood stove, and small kitchen area! Not only that, you get full electricity inside and out, and running water with shower, outside. Complete with large, clean outhouse and a really peaceful fire pit down by the brook. We even dipped in the water a few times, but it was kinda chilly weather while we were there. Perfect spot to cool off in the summer heat, though. We had all we could have needed or asked for at The Dome. Thank you so much for having us !

Lovely location! Clear water, soft pine trails, spacious and clean accommodations. Everything was so thoughtfully cared for. Very inspiring and settling. One recommendation: the tent is dark, even in the daytime, and gets darker earlier because of the way it is situated on the slope, so be sure to bring sufficient lighting. Thanks to Chapin for a memorable experience.

We hiked! We hot tubbed! We ziplined! Cold plunged in the waterfall on the mountain side! Explored the whole entire brook. Cooked all meals on the open fire, slept beautifully in the queen sized bed. The hike to the tent was very steep, pack a little lighter than we did lol 🤪 so much fun! Once in a lifetime kind of stuff ❤️❤️

Jessica was an amazing host! The cabin was nicely decorated and was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Truly enjoyed having that glamping experience while having access to an ac, mini fridge, microwave, grill and options to purchase eggs, firewood and smores packages. The outdoor bathroom was very clean and easy to use. Additionally, Jessica was able to accommodate an evening shower. I’m not much of an outdoorsy person (but my boyfriend is) so having easy access to all of these items made it very homey. I also love how dog friendly the location is. Our dog also enjoyed her stay and didn’t want to leave. All of the local recommendations were a 10/10 and we were even able to enjoy some stargazing during our evenings. Overall such a great experience! Highly recommend and we can’t wait to come back soon! :)

What an amazing spot! First camping trip with both of our littles. And I think our daughter said it best: "this is where fairy princesses live!" The dome was very comfortable and the wood stove worked great for cooler evenings (be sure to run a fan to circulate). The fire pit by the river was a wonderfully serene end to the day. There is truly no cell service at the site, but honestly it was so great to fully disconnect for the weekend. I do wish there was a better hot water system for the outdoor shower but that is my only real critique of the space. Book it, you'll have a magical stay and there's more to discover 🏕️✨
