My land is easily accessible by main road, has ample parking, and yet cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, wildlife, fireflies and peepers are just outside the door. In the summer season, several organic farmstands and local picturesque swimming holes range between 5-15 minutes away. Autumn's glorious show is on display everywhere you look. Winter offers easy access to groomed VAST trails in the field behind the house and studio. Hopkins Center, AVA Gallery, the Lebanon Opera House, Northern Stage, and a wide array of restaurants are within 20 minutes. The Lyme bridge is now open, so there are more restaurants, trails, activities and the Dartmouth Skiway! Despite the proximity to town and even to my home, the simple studio space is serene in its sumac baby forest. The space is one of a kind, with a giant salvaged chapel window, cathedral ceilings, a candelabra, a clawfoot tub, a quirky outhouse, on-demand hot water, electricity and wifi. The site lists that it sleeps 4? But three is more realistic, and I cannot seem to change it. Sugarbush Resort is a 10 minute drive and is one of the best ski mountains in the area! My fourth time at the best Hipcamp in Vermont. This is the quintessential camping plus comfort. It is a comfortable bed, no bugs. In a shed, no power. With a fire pit, a huge sky, blueberries and moose around, screaming wifi and clean bathrooms and delightful outdoor showers. The Green Mountains have so much to offer and a safe and warm and comfortable place to call home is all you need.

Kathleen’s land is incredibly beautiful. The cabin is small but very comfortable. The views are incredible! You can literally watch the sun set over the mountains from the porch. Parking is very convenient, you back up pretty much right to the side of the cabin. The cabin is well equipped with basic cooking needs. John greeted us upon arrival and was very friendly and knowledgeable with the area.

My sons & I just spent another amazing weekend at Crescent Moon Cabin! This is our second summer in a row and it’s becoming a tradition. Sheryl and Phil are wonderful hosts and give you just the right level of attentiveness to make your stay comfortable & private at the same time! The cabin was spotless, cozy, and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. It has that perfect rustic feel while still being comfortable and the upstairs sleeping area is especially charming. One of the highlights is always beautiful Halfmoon Pond. We spent hours swimming in the warm crystal-clear water, kayaking, fishing, sunning on the dock, and just enjoying the peaceful surroundings. It is the perfect place to unwind and disconnect from the busyness of everyday life. We cooked our meals on the gas grill and enjoyed eating on the screened-in porch. And we took advantage of the fire pit each night, making s’mores and just relaxing by the fire. If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded cabin on a beautiful pond, this is the place. We left feeling refreshed and are already talking about coming back for a third year in a row. Highly recommend! P.S. My oldest couldn’t make it this year, but I included a picture from last year of the three boys on the dock.

2 nights at Green Mountain Trails

Awesome cabin, really well cared-for and thoughtfully equipped. I was impressed. The sleeping pads were, surprisingly, super-comfortable. The hike up the Green Trail was easier/quicker than I expected but just enough to make you feel like you worked a little for the view. The one thing to be aware of (which the host does point out in the info he sends you) is that the cabin is a somewhat well-trafficked nexus between a number of trails, so mid-day a number of curious visitors will be poking around the cabin, which can be a little distracting if you're not feeling social. But from mid-afternoon on you really have full solitude. The cabin is surprisingly well-insulated, almost to the point of getting stuffy overnight (if one of the windows was able to open I couldn't figure it out), so if you're coming in high summer no need to bring a sleeping bag or anything like that.

Weekend Trip to BlueberryHill Field Camp

This was a magical spot for our family of 4. The sites all felt private and spaced from each other, but also felt really nice to also have access to bathrooms and showers across the field :). We found this location via Hipcamp, but there’s also an Inn across the (gravel/quiet) road, which is worth looking into as well! There are trails to hike directly from the property, a nearby state park with a lake for swimming, and a town about 15 minutes away with a grocery store and restaurants if you need them!
