We are a 107-acre forest and farm animal rescue. Sleep with the sheep, alpacas, donkeys, and potbellied pigs when you pitch your tent or park your camper on our Vermont Farm! ** All sites have a 2-night minimum on WEEKENDS. ** Reserve the group site and sleep in the middle of the action! (You do not need a "group" to reserve the group site -- it is just our biggest site and can accommodate groups!). Co-located sites share a community fire ring, so it's a great way to meet and make new friends! Don't have a tent or RV? Spend a magical night in "The Greenhouse" (it's a real, working greenhouse that doubles as accommodations for those looking for a more "glamping" experience). Want a little privacy? Reserve one of our two tricked-out Tent Deck sites (Buddha North and Grandmother Pine), each with its own picnic table, private fire ring, and commercial-grade park grill. Nestled discretely in the forest adjacent to the area where the animals are, you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere even though you are less than a 5-minute walk from your car! Looking for something a bit more remote and spectacular? Hike a half-mile to the Big Sky Tent Deck. An incredible vista awaits you for a little effort! Need gear? We have it for rent, from cast iron grill baskets and griddles to make cooking over a charcoal grill a breeze, to tents, propane stoves, and water containers. We even have an Anker Portable Power Station and Portable Kerosene Heater for rent! Need Supplies? Charcoal? Propane? We've got it. ----- We are a small non-profit (501c3). When you stay with us, rent equipment from us, or take a tour with us, 100% of the money you pay goes directly for the care and feeding of the rescue animals. The cabin was a perfect retreat for my husbands birthday. Our dogs enjoyed all of the outdoor adventures and cozying up with the wood stove. There’s enough creature comforts to feel at ease while also enjoying the simplicity of being in the woods.

Well, lemme tell ya, this here’s the view from my little ol' parking spot. We got ourselves some good ol’ electricity 'n' them fancy low voltage lights all 'round the place. Makes it real nice when the sun goes down, ya know? Perfect for a campin’ trip, if ya ask me!

Everyone would have there own site but you could all hang out together or have dinner at one site and breakfast in another. Great group overland site, Adv moto site, or group of friends in a car because it’s not far or technical from the main rd.

Jon was most accommodating and a wealth of local information. He loaned us an electric heater for our camper so we didn't have to use the noisy one installed. The driveway was a bit daunting for backing up but we did it without too much effort. There's a great hike with waterfalls on the property and a cute cafe close by with good food and live music. The bathrooms were the cleanest and nicest I have seen camping! We will definitely return!

Weekend Trip to Rooted Acres Farm

We had such a lovely stay here! The host was incredibly responsive to all our questions, and the cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It came with a portable heater inside that kept us warm at night (just remember to turn on the gas outside first!). Without proper winter clothing, it might be a bit chilly to stay here during the colder months, but we went toward the end of October and it was still perfect! And the hot tub!! Such a clever and wonderful addition! Just a heads up: you’ll need to build a strong fire to get it hot within about 3 hours, and you’ll likely want to make two fires - one for the tub and another to sit back and enjoy. Be sure to bring lanterns, as it gets dark pretty quickly once the sun sets. Even though we had cloudy skies, we could tell that on a clear night the stargazing would be incredible. The cabin is well-equipped with dishes and running water for light cooking, brushing teeth, etc. There’s also a small convenience store about 8 minutes away on the main road. Overall, we would highly recommend this place. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning!

There are so many amazing qualities: privacy, lack of light pollution, views, etc. that already have us planning our next visit.
