My husband and I were nomads in the summer of 2006, and happened upon this property that called to both of us equally. It took us another year to get up here and we're so glad we did. How about we share our good fortune with you (and help us pay our real estate taxes)? We do have bear so all food must be stored inside a vehicle or bear bag. And check in with enough time to set up BEFORE DARK.Wooded, secluded campsite has an open canopy, letting you watch the night sky. Site has a primitive bucket commode with a seat and overhead shelter. Potable water at barn, with trash, compost, and recycle containers. Food scraps MUST go in compost bucket, not trash. We do have bear, so we ask you to keep all food in your car when you are not actively engaged in cooking and eating it. Coyotes, Fox, chipmunks, ticks et al. You’re in the woods. 30 yards from car parking.

Lovely, secluded campsite in the woods. Potable water and trash (plus recycling and compost) located at the barn, about 300 ft away. The provided firewood was excellent, kept dry underneath a tarp at the site. Picnic table and bench, as well as two Adirondack chairs, were a nice touch. The composting bucket toilet, located under a small permanent structure at the site, was very clean and did not smell at all.

Our host Janet was kind and really helped us 2 tired bikepackers to get the lay of the land/site and quickly get to our camp to set up tents and crash for the night. The highlights were the commode (well maintained with good instructions) and the pond! The view while cycling up the hill to get to the site was stunning as well. Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend. Thank you!

We spent 2 nights at Janet campsite. It is in the woods :) it is lovely. There is also a pond to freshen up but we didn’t use it. We arrived late but thanks to Janet explanation, we didn’t have any issue to find the place We highly recommend!

The land was beautiful and the campsite lovely. Beyond that, Janet was extremely helpful when the skies poured their contents on Vermont and I had to change my plans to flee the flood. Thank you for helping me out! A great place to stop when cycling the LVRT. Don't let that hill stop you from choosing this site! I hope there's not too much damage on the trail, or the road leading up to this site!

TENT Site at Birch Tree Acres
This spot was so lovely and our host so accommodating! We enjoyed a dip in the pond and some hammock time with our three year old, as well as the generously provided firewood, marshmallows, and sticks for roasting. The morning bird song was also delightful.

The stay at Janet's site was phenomenal. They were very flexible and hospitable when I discussed our needs while biking through Danville on a bike tour. The site was beautiful and I would love to stay there again.

The tent site is set back from the parking which is nice, comparing toilet is conveniently located. The pond is beautiful and has a screened in area to enjoy.

What an amazing find!! A beautiful spot complete with a fire pit, wood, a picnic table, and a pond. Janet and Woody were delightful and were wonderful hosts. The nightlight was their adorable old dog Sasha who we would have brought home with us. We will definitely be back and send others their way!
