All to yourself
100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
My husband and I were nomads in the summer of 2006, and happened upon this property that called to both of us equally. It took us another year to get up here and we're so glad we did. How about we share our good fortune with you (and help us pay our real estate taxes)? We do have bear so all food must be stored inside a vehicle, a bear bag, or in the barn. And check in with enough time to set up BEFORE DARK.Wooded, secluded campsite has an open canopy, letting you watch the night sky. Site has a primitive bucket commode with a seat and overhead shelter. Potable water at barn, with trash, compost, and recycle containers. Food scraps MUST go in compost bucket, not trash. We do have bear, so we ask you to keep all food in your car when you are not actively engaged in cooking and eating it. Coyotes, Fox, chipmunks, ticks et al. You’re in the woods. 30 yards from car parking.
What to expect
Short walk to site
Parking isn't available at the site. You will park a short distance away and walk to the site (1-5 mins)
Tent site
You'll have this Hipcamp all to yourself.
8 guests max
Campfires allowed
Firewood provided, firepit. We have a cleared pack it in/pack it out tent site set among tall birch and balsam fir. Availability for fires will depend upon local conditions.
Toilet available
Portable toilet. We off a primitive shed with a commode with wood shavings.
No pets
We have free range chickens here, so I'm afraid dogs are not allowed. I wish it were different; we love dogs. But they do have powerful instincts.
Potable water available
Hose, pump or well. Across the private road, at the barn, is an outdoor pump with fresh water from our well. You are welcome to refill your containers.
Bins available
Compost bin, recycling bin, trash bin. We do have bear here, so it's important for us to NOT have a garbage can so far from the house. You'll have to store all food in your car. Upon your departure, however, you can deposit recyclables, compost, and trash in marked containers at the barn.
Picnic table present
We added a wooden picnic table in 2020.
No showers
Bathe in lake. You are welcome to take a quick dip in our pond to cool off after an active day.
Cooking equipment absent
No wifi
Laundry absent
