Property is on the farm where I grew up about 9 miles northeast of Glen Rose off of Highway 67. It has various trees on property with cedar, live oak, post oak, etc. Campsites are in front of a wide waterfall which is about 5 feet in height. You can fall asleep with the sound of the waterfalls! We have three ground tent sites and two 14 by 14 deck sites if you want to be up off the ground. Each site has a fire ring and electricity. There are well-marked trails across the creek which go to a meadow and a big treehouse I built several years ago. Glen Rose has several restaurants known for barbecue and Mexican food. Granbury is 25 minutes away with lots of shopping and restaurants around their historic town square. Glen Rose also has a town square.

Serenity Cabin + Set A Tent Outside

6. Serenity Cabin + Set A Tent Outside

50mi from West · 1 site · Lodging
Cabin with a full kitchen, washer/dryer combo, bathroom with shower, and a queen bed in the first-floor bedroom. The upstairs loft/kids’ play area has a twin and a double mattress on the floor. There’s a small TV room/sitting area, an outdoor deck with a small patio table, and a private yard area with a fire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grill (bring charcoal and starter). You can even set up a tent in the yard — best of both worlds! We sit on 3.5 acres with trails to explore. The property is fenced in, so you won’t accidentally wander off. When we moved here three years ago, the trails were very rough; we’ve been slowly improving them. They’re by no means spectacular, but they’re fun — especially for kids looking for rabbits, roadrunners, toads, deer, and who knows what else. There are no creeks, ponds, or other water features, just good old dirt!

There is a well maintained Compost Toilet on the property as well! Each individual campsite has a portable potty bucket provided.  Nearly any spot you are on has an amazingly delightful view. You can see the sun rise over the trees or the sun set behind a gently sloping hill. You will have access to all of the 30 acres. There are paths to walk, a stocked tank to fish in, (bass, catfish and blue gill),  and oak and pecan trees to sit under and view the clouds as they drift overhead. Visitors enjoy our quiet and beautiful surroundings along with the good company of family and friends. Our customers are usually groups of friends and family; many of them have camped here for years. A few even claim to have grown up on the river and, to some extent, that might be true. Bee Mountain Resort is a secluded off-the-grid campground that's been around since the '70s. And it's pretty well known to the locals. I first discovered the Brazos River back in 1985 looking for smooth water to ski on. And having developed so many great memories camping over the years, I can confidently say our resort is classic and old school. Change comes pretty slow on the Brazos.....and we happen to like it that way! Family, friends, kids and pets all love our amazing getaway; it's a rare gem best shared with good people. Don't let the address fool you, we are actually located only a few miles outside of Mansfield, Tx. We are about 30 minutes away from Joe Pool Lake, Six Flags, the Texas Rangers Ballpark, and Scarborough Renaissance Festival. Our land is private land that has been in the family for many decades. We have a variety of events that happen here, including two festivals, one in September and one in November, November, so you will notice there are stages and even a saloon here on site. We have all kinds of wildlife in the area including crows, a great horned owl, night herons, a mated pair of marsh hawks, roadrunners, coyotes, bobcats, skunks, armadillos, bunnies, a fox every now and then, and all kinds of birds flitting about. If you camp with us during either of our festivals, you will also have to purchase festival admission tickets to attend.
