. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers.
The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so.
Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds.
Campfires are permitted.
There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one.
Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently

This is our family farm, though you probably will not see us much. The campsite is located on a corner of the property on Cummins Creek and once you get there you will feel secluded in nature. Matt grew up here swimming, fishing and exploring in this creek...the creek has taught him more about life than anyone ever could. I hope that you too can understand why we always walk alway feeling like this is a very special spot! This property has been in our family since the 1960's, and owned by close friends of the family since the house was built in 1910. Close access to San Marcos, Lockhart, and Luling. Public river access is just down the road.

We loved this camp site! Giant pecan trees all around, the Guadelupe River flows slowly nearby. We felt a good connection to nature, the countless bird songs, and quiet nights. The access is easy and gated. There is live stock roaming around which was good for that "Feeling" .....All in all we would recommend this camp site for those who want peace, quiet, and nature connection!

We had a great time camping at River Grove site 2. We were provided directions to the property and someone was waiting for us upon arrival. The site was clean, had plenty of space and it had 30 amp service for our RV. We fished along the river and had a great time camping and relaxing. If you are tent camping this spot would be good as there is plenty of level ground and plenty of room. You will need to bring your own portable toilet and water. If you are RV camping, there is an additional fee for electric. There are sheep and goats that roam the property and our kids enjoyed it! There is a fire pit but unfortunately there was a fire ban in effect and no open flames were allowed. We highly recommend River Grove and we will definitely be coming back!

Great primitive spot with access to the river. Is not far from Smithville, Buescher State Park and Bastrop State Park.
There was a paddle boat at the river entrance, but we didn’t try it or entering the river from that spot. A water spigot is onsite though we didn’t need it. We did not see the host (Paige) in person but she was helpful when we called her as we were confused about where we were allowed to camp and she was kind enough to allow us to camp near the river in a wooded section that didn’t seem to be an official spot. Just be aware there is 1, maybe 2 official(?) spots directly on the river. The RV sites and glamping tent are at an elevation higher than the river spots. We have a small offroad camper and camped at the river spots and there was plenty of room for others and still have space between.

Weekend Trip to Matt B.’s Land Treehouse!!
This trip was mega cool. The tree house was super comfortable. To everyone considering there I have a message: there is a property full size bed in the tree house. The photos make it look like it's a tiny sofa and you can't sleep on it, but in reality it is a proper bed big enough for two people. Over all I would give this place 5 out of 4 stars.

Eden East feels secluded and remote despite being walking distance from town - the perfect mix. Sonya and David were super friendly and helpful. Our toddler loved looking at the chickens and had space to run around. A very easy drive to Bastrop State Park for hiking. The farm fresh eggs were delicious and a real treat, and there’s a whole farm stand on weds and saturdays. Would definitely stay here again.

The weather turned cold before our trip but we decided to keep our plans on Billy’s land. And we are glad we did! There’s a dense patch of bamboo growing near the campsite which acted as a shield. We could hear the cold front blowing in, but never felt the wind! Although you can see another campsite, it’s pretty far in the distance and I barely even heard the other campers. Also recommend you purchase Billy’s bucket of firewood, it’s a phenomenal value, and helped keep us warm. We found our new winter camping spot! My very picky and particular dog LOVED it!

River Grove is one of my favorite spots around Austin. I've camped there several times and it never disappoints. We tried out campsite 3 vs River Bottom, and I'm infinitely glad I chose that one for our particular weekend. Temps got below freezing with huge gusts of wind, but because of a sizable bamboo forest on the grounds, the wind barely touched us, making for a much more comfortable weekend.
We enjoyed campfires (Billy's $15 firewood is a BIG bundle y'all-- worth it), carved walking sticks, played Kubb (look it up!), braided bracelets. The pup had the time of her life as well.
Beautiful spot, and Billy was a great host!

2 nights at Wild and Boujee Ranch
Stunning spot on the Colorado River. We had the place to ourselves aside from a family who rented the Airbnb home on the property.
Played bocce ball, walked the property for at least 2 hours, admired the trees. Would absolutely go back.
