We loved Boulderdash so much! It’s so quiet and peaceful. The water was perfect for the kids. The bathrooms were beautiful and clean. There was shade in all of the spots. We loved it so much we booked our next trip back while we were still there!

Boulderdash is a fantastic getaway. The hosts are just wonderful and so helpful. They have a little store where they stock ice and other stuff for sale. Camping spot was great! Tried to get a river spot first, but they were all booked up. Glad we ended up a Forest 1 because of the shade and close to bathrooms. Only about a 3 minute walk to the river. River was super fun. Also, short drive to Bandera which was a really cute town. Plan on returning in the future!

My family love our get away trip. The camp grounds were clean and the staff was very responsive if you needed anything. We went for Memorial Day weekend and while others were fighting for space to set up and hit the water. The camp grounds were spacious and other guests were quiet and respectful. Beautiful sights from the communal observation deck. We will be returning in the future.

Sparrow Bend Retreat was the perfect camping getaway. Our spot was the closest to the river and we loved the short walk on a hot day. Bathrooms weren’t too far either. Definitely bring your own shade for this site as there is none. The owners are extremely nice and responsive.

We had such a great time at Site 4! This was actually the second time camping in that spot, about a year and a half ago my son and I stayed there, I loved it so much I reserved it again. The campgrounds are dense and laid out so well, we can setup and walk the dog around for a good distance, and the area is perfect for plenty of tents and gear. I know a lot of people leave reviews and make comments about road noise but honestly you adjust to it, and the sounds of nature are the real focus anyway. Also the port a potty is quite possibly the cleanest one I have ever seen, ha. Air fresheners and all, just watch out for wasp nests, I got a wake up call this morning from one just above the door, but hey they campout too 🤣 Can't wait to come back and try another site , thanks again James!

Our stay at Tent Site #2 at Boulderdash Cabin & RV Park was absolutely wonderful! Carol-anne and Lyn were amazing hosts—friendly, responsive, and super thoughtful. They provided helpful tips before our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed for a great experience. The site was peaceful and well-kept, surrounded by nature and just steps from the Medina River. Even though it was a short hike to the bathrooms, we were well-prepared thanks to their clear heads-up and suggestion to bring a tent potty—especially useful since we were camping with our child. We appreciated the attention to detail, from the check-in process to on-site items like firewood and ice. The no-visitor and quiet policies helped make the space feel safe and relaxing for families. We made some great memories here and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking to disconnect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors!

We absolutely loved our stay! We spent the weekend kid free celebrating our 13 year anniversary & couldn’t help but talk about how much the kids would have loved it! Will definitely be back sometime soon with the kids! Plenty of areas to swim or sit in the water and enjoy the absolute peacefulness of the flowing water and watching the sunset!

Site 4 was honestly just as expected. Bit elevated view, shades, conveniently located between the river and the amenities/bathrooms. The experience at the camp was great. We went on about a 3-4 mile hike in morning. We later discovered we could take the sub wheeling down same path but went much further. It’s also great for quads. Very scenic to see the texas fauna. Bit tragic to see how the river dried up over what i expect was last decade or so but also a steady reminder of climate and change. We actually swam in an accessible part of river and it was quite refreshing i took tons of pics of the fauna, sunset, and trails. Would come back again but next time with quads. Site also had amazing showers, clean bathrooms, firewood for purchase, and even charging ports.

We thoroughly enjoyed the campsite! Our 3 kids stayed in the river exploring and swimming from sun up to sun down. Beautiful river and scenery. Bathrooms and shower area was very clean and convenient. We didn’t want to leave. Will definitely be planning another camping trip to this site soon!

We live on site with our 4 children (and a gaggle of animals). We are both Air Force Veterans. After leaving active duty, we traveled the country full time from 2017-2021 in our RV with our kids. Heavily wooded acreage with goats, horses and donkeys. There is no light pollution and if there are no clouds you can see the stars very clearly. We have a ton of wild birds. Owls and Cara Cara are common. There are deer, feral hog and two resident packs of coyote. We also have ring tail cats, which are nocturnal and rare. The best seasons are October 1st thru the end of April. It gets VERY hot and dry in the summer and can just be miserable. We have a shared bathroom and an outdoor shower and tub. If you are a single woman or a family with children, we don't take other bookings while you are visiting the farm. You will have the place to yourselves. The only exception being my family and I, if we are working or staying over at the farm. We should have a second bunkhouse up and running by fall of 2025. If you are tent camping, you may camp anywhere on the property but there are certain spaces that may make curious horses your roomies.

A new outdoor shower is 95% complete and usable but swimwear is required because we have not finished filling in the slots between the wood fence panels. The RV Dump station is also ready for use as well as the new outhouse! There is plenty of space, trees for shade, starry nights and wildlife to include deer. We ensure all sites are clean and the property is maintained, mowed and trimmed regularly.
