Our pond is charming and the focal point of the camping adventure. We have a paddle boat and an electric john boat to toodle around in. Want to go fishing? The pond is stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and perch. There is also a small island we call “Angel Island” that you can fish from or just sit on the deck with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view. There is a riding/walking trail that is approximately 0.7 miles in distance and basically encompasses the perimeter of the back area. Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please. You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. As full-time RV nomads ourselves we know RV park rates are getting crazy, Buck Acres is our attempt to help the community. We've done everything we can to keep rates down. The only amenities we offer are shade, Wi-Fi, electricity, water, and an ADA porta john that is cleaned every week. Affordable RV parks shouldn't be sweltering parking lots where you're packed in like sardines! At Buck Acres we have 100' tall hardwoods and pines that have been trimmed up 60' for the safety of you and your rig! Buck Acres is still under construction and it is a labor of love. Hidalgo Falls Hideaway

The 13-acre park at Hidalgo Falls is owned by the Texas Rivers Protection Association. It is located on the Brazos River about eight miles from Navasota.TRPA ownership of this property guarantees access to this popular and unique river resource. For whitewater paddlers, it offers a class II rapid with numerous surfing waves, holes, eddy lines and play spots. For flatwater paddlers, it provides a convenient and secure access point for float trips along a very historic stretch of the Brazos as well as a place to learn swiftwater techniques and rescue skills. In the four miles downstream from the rapid archaeologists have unearthed mastodon bones from the riverbank, and the remains of an early 20th century lock and dam system still loom large in the river. All of this is just upstream from Washington on the Brazos State Park, birthplace of the republic of Texas. Stephen F. Austin is said to have crossed the river often at Hidalgo Falls. It is also said that you could tell if you had a knowledgeable riverboat captain if he could get his boat upstream of the rapid and back down before the river level dropped stranding the boat upriver near Millican or Port Sullivan.The fast moving water and play features of the rapid are rarities in this part of the state. During the year volunteer fire departments in the region use the falls for training firefighters in swiftwater rescue.A 2 mile hike and bike trail are being worked on now and will soon open. Volunteers are always welcome!

Tired of the city ordinances that restricted raising fouls, I decided to look for an acreage that is not too far nor too close to the city and which allowed the raising of farm animals. We have a couple of ducks, 5 geese, 2 pigs, and 11 cows. But they will not bother you :-) We built a log cabin in the 17-acre property in preparation for downsizing when the boys go to to college. But when our neighbors had to move back to England, they sold us their house and 11-acre land. With the cabin on the 17-acre now vacant, we decided to open it for camping (on the land) or renting out the log cabin after building the 2-acre pond. Learn more about this land: Stay in the log cabin, or pitch a tent. Enjoy stargazing, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the property. Pick wild grapes or wild blackberries when in season or spring wildflowers. Kayak or canoe in the pond. Cabin use is free, but these are STRICT RULES.1. No pets please, not even emotional support animals of any kind 2. No smoking inside the cabin 3. Do not use the bathroom towels for kitchen purposes or to wipe off dirt 4. Please no outdoor footwear indoors, but you are welcome to wear clean indoor footwear. Violation will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit 5. Cars MUST be parked on the rocked section, thus walking is necessary from this point. This is a 2-3 minute walk. The driveway might be dry but, no vehicles will be allowed past the rocked section. 6. Never leave food - solid or liquid - where ants can find them or you will cause them to infest the house including your bed! They can do so faster than you can imagine. 7. Please do not bring more people than officially booked, or we will cancel the reservation and force you to leave. No refund. We also close/lock the gate once you have checked in. We understand rules can be off-putting, but we had to disclose due to massive damage, thefts, and other violations by a few - Dawn S., Marc A., T. Frazier. Enjoy a weekend getaway on this 7.6 acres primitive land. Sunsets and star gazing are amazing here. Bring your tent and setup in 2 different camp areas or wherever you prefer. Fires are permitted in the fire pits that are provided in two different areas of the land. Our land is divided in the middle where you are able to park. Bikes and atvs are welcome, there are trails for walking, a small hill by the pond that you can easily hike and open areas where atvs can fit all around the perimeter of the property. If an area isn’t open don’t attempt to use for your own safety. Please be aware that there are animals that visit us: Deer, rabbits and spiders, snakes etc. Firewood is provided and you can also gathered firewood from branches or trees that are laying around the property. Please do not cut or harm any trees. Because this is a primitive camping site there is no water or electricity. Make sure you bring your own drinking water or water for any personal use. Compost Bathrooms will have some water for showering but if this runs out you will have to provide your own, these bathrooms are covered with 3 walls but are pretty private a few feet away from the campsites. Instructions on how to use and take care of the composting toilettes will be posted. There is a pond towards the back of the property. This is collected rain water and it just sits there, there are small fishes in there but we suggest no swimming as it can have bacteria. We usually walk around it with rain boots. By the pond you will be able to see lots of beautiful birds while relaxing in the various hammocks provided as well as swings. Trash bins are not provided so please carry out your trash. Please help us to maintain our land clean. Since there is so many acres we are still in the process of cleaning out what the other owners left behind. We do have neighbors so please be mindful. Cows also roam around the property but are separated by a fence but you do hear them once in a while and sometimes you can see them up close. These cows do not belong to us so please let them be. A train passes near by too so keep that in mind. Any other questions you may have feel free to message me and I will respond as soon as possible. There is phone reception in this area so you don’t have to worry about losing cellphone service. One more thing, please enjoy our land and just have fun! We hope you book it soon :)

Our property is meant to be calming, fun and relaxing. Camping with class is what we like to say. We are constantly upgrading our areas and property to be safe and entertaining. Our pond is charming and the focal point of the camping adventure. We have a paddle boat and an electric john boat to toodle around in. Want to go fishing? The pond is stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and perch. There is also a small island we call “Angel Island” that you can fish from or just sit on the deck with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view. There is a riding/walking trail that is approximately 0.7 miles in distance and basically encompasses the perimeter of the back area. Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please. You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. However, we do have enough property to accommodate large parties, reunions or any other type of get-togethers. Come see us and enjoy time away from the fast paced city! You might hear the sounds of the coyotes yipping in the night or perhaps one of the great horned owls calling out from a big oak tree. You may also see some deer, rabbits, squirrels and even armadillos. We are rustic but classy. Time to get away and relax! At Buck Acres we have 100' tall hardwoods and pines that have been trimmed up 60' for the safety of you and your rig! Buck Acres is still under construction and it is a labor of love. The Navasota River Ranch is a 600 ac parcel of land bounded by more than a mile of the Navasota River on its west side and two tributary creeks on its north and southeast sides. The river bottom is wild and untamed, while the rest is rolling hills reminiscent of the prairie that once greeted settlers. Nearby is Bryan-College Station home of Texas A&M University To the west on Hwy 105 is Washington on the Brazos State Park. This is the location where delegates gathered to hastily draw up a declaration of independence before joining the Runaway Scrape to avoid capture and execution by the advancing Mexican Army. Farther down the road is the famous Blue Bell creamery in Brenham. The tour and ice cream are well worth the trip. On the property are miles of Jeep trails excellent for off road and 4WD vehicles. Guests might prefer hiking along these trails or strike out on foot trails and game trails. Thanks to the hunters who have come for the deer and feral hogs over the years there are numerous observation structures for viewing wildlife up close, or just enjoying the solitude of the deep woods. Three ponds offer bass and perch fishing from the bank or bring your own boat. And then there is the Navasota River...
