4 nights at Cummins Cozy Corral

Jeanna and Kris are good hosts, have sites with level concrete pads, hookups easily accessible to the trailer, free laundry in a shed between two of the pads, and the sites are surrounded by greenery. Jeanna made sure of connecting with us, ready to answer questions along with giving info on the surrounding area for dining, etc. It has been a great base for our time as we had business in College Station and family to visit in Houston. We would have to pay at least double for the same site/service back home in New York state.

Absolutely beautiful property. The campsite we stayed at for the weekend was exactly how it was described online- we loved it!! Plenty of fantastic hiking trails and a little late to go for a swim or take one of the canoes out in. Definitely come back!!

This is a wonderful place to stay! Jeanna and her husband were warm and welcoming from the moment of my arrival. Jeanna’s husband helped me get set up and made sure I had everything I needed. Jeanna became my contact throughout my stay, making sure I was satisfied with everything. It’s a very pretty spot with lots of trees and chickens roaming the property. As a single female camper, I need to be aware of my surroundings. I felt very safe at the fenced and gated, rural Cummins’ Corral. One of the nicest amenities (besides your host and hostess) is the free laundry they provide! I live in my RV full-time and as a Thousand Trails member, I am in need of a place to stay one week out of every month. With the pleasant atmosphere, the lovely hosts, the safe environment, and the great rates, I definitely consider Cummins’ Corral my new monthly go-to!

It's a beautiful campground with camping spots designed for those who like wide open spaces and others for those who enjoy secluded spots. You will need to be prepared to not have water at each campsite but it is provided at the check-in area. When we got there, it was pouring rain but within 15 minutes after the rain stopped, we were able to get around and set up the tent because the soil is sand and absorbs the water right away.

We loved our time at Outpost 203! We would definitely go again. We brought our pup and were able to camp with our tent.

My friend and I absolutely LOVED everything about 5D Ranch. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted and shown the way to our campsite. They were very welcoming and made sure to make us feel comfortable before heading off. We had an amazing time enjoying the sounds of nature, grilling and sleeping in the woods. We even got to take enjoy the on site ponds with free paddle boats and caught a bunch of fish! I would highly recommend 5D for anyone looking to find a relaxing get away, family time, or with friends! (I was at SITE 11)

We loved 5d! Campsite 9 was very spacious but also secluded. Only a 6 min walk to the bathroom. The tree canopy shielded us from some sprinkles and the hot sun. Trails were beautiful and we really enjoyed fishing in the pond. Nicely maintained land, no trash, and no loud neighbors. Just the great outdoors. Can't wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Sandhill Farms Tent Camping

Kevin’s land was perfect. I needed to get out of the city for a night and decompress somewhere private. Coming from the PNW this gave me a taste of home. Going in the spring it was lush and green, and we had a donkey, a horse, and a herd of cattle roaming where we set up. They were incredible hosts and showed us around the property and took us out to an oil rig down the road where we were able to walk back. If you’re looking for a place to call all your own, I would recommend it.

We had a fantastic family weekend at the Navasota River Ranch. It was so peaceful, no other campers anywhere in sight. We got to fish, foraged some berries, and picked wild flowers. At night we had a raccoon visiting our camp, but he only stole some bait from the boat. :) I would definitely be booking another trip there in the near future. The host William was very friendly. The weather was perfect and so was the atmosphere. Recommend 10 out of 10 :)

The property is inside of a gated community sometimes the gate is open with construction crews and sometimes it is closed and will need a code. The community that the property is inside of all of the lots are 20+ Acres each and there are not a ton of people that have actually moved out there yet. Keep in mind this is a developing Ranch Community so the roads are a bit JACKED UP at the moment to be honest, if you have a low slung car or a really nice car this spot may not be for you, SUV's Trucks, hell even Minivans probably will be just fine. There are tons of wild animals on the property from boars, deer, coyote, snakes, rabbits, turtles, big predator birds, and 2 mountain lions/cougars have been spotted on game cameras throughout the community. The Navasota River Ranch

The Navasota River Ranch is a 600 ac parcel of land bounded by more than a mile of the Navasota River on its west side and two tributary creeks on its north and southeast sides. The river bottom is wild and untamed, while the rest is rolling hills reminiscent of the prairie that once greeted settlers. Nearby is Bryan-College Station home of Texas A&M University To the west on Hwy 105 is Washington on the Brazos State Park. This is the location where delegates gathered to hastily draw up a declaration of independence before joining the Runaway Scrape to avoid capture and execution by the advancing Mexican Army. Farther down the road is the famous Blue Bell creamery in Brenham. The tour and ice cream are well worth the trip. On the property are miles of Jeep trails excellent for off road and 4WD vehicles. Guests might prefer hiking along these trails or strike out on foot trails and game trails. Thanks to the hunters who have come for the deer and feral hogs over the years there are numerous observation structures for viewing wildlife up close, or just enjoying the solitude of the deep woods. There is a riding/walking trail that is approximately 0.7 miles in distance and basically encompasses the perimeter of the back area. Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please. You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. However, we do have enough property to accommodate large parties, reunions or any other type of get-togethers. Come see us and enjoy time away from the fast paced city! You might hear the sounds of the coyotes yipping in the night or perhaps one of the great horned owls calling out from a big oak tree. The Rock Pit

Learn more about this land: The Rock Pit is a 5 acre swimming hole located in Trinity County that has been there over 50 years. Long ago they had dug out an area on a hill for rock on the dirt roads, and hit and underground water table. There are no fish in the Rock Pit, as the pH is 4.5, so no fish will live in it. I recall swimming there as a small boy, and wanted to share my memories with others. Depth ranges all over, but the deep end is around 15 feet. I have 5 kayaks currently, but bring yours if you have them, along with your vests. There is fishing in Lake Livingston, my place is north of it. There is access to Lake Livingston via White Rock Creek. A public boat ramp in on Highway 94, just outside Trinity. Or you can go back towards Trinity, to highway 357 and go to a ramp closer to the big lake. Tall pine tress, a few Oaks, and maple trees surround the place. Bring your mosquito repellant, as you are in the country! The place is raw right now, but I am planning improvements such as a few A frame cabins, a showering area and so on. So many things to do!
