And having developed so many great memories camping over the years, I can confidently say our resort is classic and old school. Change comes pretty slow on the Brazos.....and we happen to like it that way! Family, friends, kids and pets all love our amazing getaway; it's a rare gem best shared with good people. Every campsite is located directly on the river and all of them are huge. Firewood, ice, kayaks, paddleboards and generators are available at low prices. Great tasting water from our 500' deep well, clean restrooms and a camper dump station are located on premises. We are very pet friendly providing your pet is friendly.

Really nice camping spots that's not too far from Fort Worth! We had such an amazing time the spot was perfect for stargazing and relaxing. There's not really any Internet service it was very spotty, but that's what makes it even better. It's nice to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors. The river is right at the camp spot easy access for kayak and paddle boards. Our dogs also loved this spot!

Sherwood was a very accommodating and communicative host. The grounds were very clean and just as described. The water park was inactive due to the off season, and staying here made us want to come back when the park is fully operational. Great location only about 16 min to the Stockyards. Weekend Trip to Bee Mountain River Resort

This is a great camping spot for families. The hosts made our stay easy and checked in each day with any updates and or to see if we needed anything. Being able to get firewood, kayaks, ice, and fresh water from the hosts was convenient. The views along the river are amazing. Cell coverage is limited, which we liked. Wildlife is present all around the property, the coolest being the owls, whose hoots would resonate and echo off the river. Speaking of the river, the water is very calm in front of the camp sites, with most allowing for pretty easy entry. Plan on bringing life jackets for kids. This is a camping spot we will definitely be returning to!

Vast property with stunning views and lots of natural beauty. It was great to wake up to the sight of the river in the morning. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit of our time there but we still did our best to make the most of our stay. Be aware the campsites are pretty close together, so this might not be the place for you if you are looking for something secluded. We were fine with it but we did have to listen to a generator 24/7 at the campsite next to us which was a bit annoying. Ice and firewood are sold on property which is a huge plus, although the firewood we had delivered on the first night was pretty damp which made it hard to get the fire started. I assume this is not a problem when the weather is better. Overall great spot and hope to return at some point and have better luck with the weather, thanks Tony!

The host were very accommodating and friendly. The tent site that was reserved for us was the best Tent site had really good tree shade, space, privacy, and views! As mentioned in the description, cell service was little (T-Mobile) or next to nothing (Visible), which was perfectly fine for us and expected. Restroom near the site was great and convenient. Minimal road noise, we noticed the train sounds more. Overall great site and will be back again!

Wonderful, quiet spot in a heritage neighborhood on lake Whitney. Lots of outdoor seating, and a stunning tiny house with a full kitchen, ample sleeping quarters, and lovely baths. I wish I could have stayed longer for an evening around the fire pit! Kelly was super communicative, and helped me find the house in the dark when I got in much later than planned.

Gary’s place was just right for our overnight stays. Super easy 20-minute drive to visit our kids and grandkids in Fort Worth. Gary was a great host, really enjoyed chatting with him and hearing a bit about the old dairy farm. Our two grandsons (3 and 5) stayed with us for a couple of nights and loved seeing the longhorns and exploring the property. We’ll definitely be back.

Beautiful views, the largest tent site we've ever experienced, clean bathrooms with a flushable toilet, friendly service, and the sounds of nature. Weekend Trip to Burgers Lake Camping

I wasn't sure what to expect but was really happy. We got to the waterpark/campground around 5pm on a friday so the place wasn't too packed and they didn't charge us to use the pool that day. The staff, esspecially Sherwood who has big plans for the poace, were all super friendly, helpful and told us to pretty much camp anywhere that you could park. We had the whole place to ourselves that night and my boys and friends got to run around playing tag in the dark which they loved. The next morning we were able to pick out the best spots on the lake for the day and had a blast. Just know that apparently during the off season they let you make a campfire but during the pool season they don't. We were there the first week of season and they made an exception so if campfires are important, you might want to double check with them before hand. Other than that, I'd absolutely recomend camping here.

This was my 5th or 6th trip out to the cabin and I plan on returning many times. John is a great host, the lake is really nice with great fishing and swimming, cabin is very stout with good options for cooking and there is also great BBQ nearby in Stephenville. Now, it is rustic and a little wild. If you are scared of spiders or the occasional watersnake, maybe it's not for you but you're missing out! Made lots of great memories out here, highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Burgers Lake Camping

I was there the day before they officially opened and there was only a high school graduating class there. Got to spend the afternoon enjoying this beautiful, spring fed lake, complete with slides, fountains, diving boards (of all heights), and snack bar (they make an awesome cheeseburger!). Once they cleared out, I had the place to myself. Owners were very accommodating. Even though they don’t really offer space with power, they found me a plug to charge my Jackery. They also offered tips on what not to miss at the Stockyards. The camping area is grassy, level and very shady with tons of large pecan trees that were planted by original owners. The facility was very clean, hosts were friendly and it is truly a magical place to stay! It’s only about 15 minutes from the Stockyards, so very convenient if you’re planning to visit there. I was just passing through, but would definitely love to come back sometime! I am a single female, traveling alone and felt extremely safe. Don’t forget to hit the artisan well to fill up your water jugs on the way out!

Weekend Trip to Trickle Creek Ranch

I have a Ford Transit camper van, so I just needed a place to crash on the weekend away from the city. I really like that even though it feels I am away from the city there are stores and restaurants 10 minutes drive from the farm. I also appreciated they had a nice warm shower and a bathroom right by the area I parked. The fire pit is shareable, but it seems like no one cared for it, so I had it all for me 😅
