All tents are fully furnished with made beds and critical supplies, and have picnic tables, chairs around the fire rings, firewood, and charcoal grills. Our premier platform tents also have electric, heat, Keurig coffee pots, coffee and more! Vintage trailers have everything you need as well inside and out. Reservations are available on both Hipcamp and Airbnb. We even offer to decorate for you in advance for special celebration occasions.

Matt grew up here swimming, fishing and exploring in this creek...the creek has taught him more about life than anyone ever could. The property borders a small creek and has abundant trees, and wildlife. Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)!
Guests are required to communicate estimated time of arrival well in advance. When arriving, make sure to meet Aaron or a designate at the red gate before entering further into the property. If tent camping, please do not bring glass containers, also you must pack out all garbage and waste. Inquire ahead of time to see if firewood is available to be gathered on site, or if you will need to bring your own. Our 100 acre heritage property has been in the family for over 150 years. Since 2017, we've been operating our land as a Vegan, Regenerative-Agriculture Farm & Animal Sanctuary. We currently have 2 dogs, 3 cats plus a herd of 31 Cows, 4 Potbelly Pigs and 2 Spanish Goats. The cows and pigs are all rescue animals so, where as they are adapted to humans being around them, they are very shy and petting them is not allowed. The dogs, cats and goats, on the other hand, are very friendly and love to be pet and fed treats.
We are located outside of Dime Box, TX and are a 30 minute drive from the quaint, artist village of Round Top, and 12 miles from Lake Somerville SP.
Our property has equal parts rolling pastures and wooded thickets and ravines. There are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and gorgeous views of the Texas horizons....time your stay just right and you can stand directly between the sunset and the moonrise! We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property.
We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.

ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS! Camp Joy offers guests two docks available to use for fishing, lounging, getting in and out of kayaks on the property. The one shown was built as handicap accessible. This small lake is one of three lakes in the area called "Cade Lakes". Great for catching crappie, bass and catfish. Kids enjoy watching the turtles push each other off the logs seen around the banks. If you love to fish, the greatest fishing lake in Texas is a few miles away near Somerville, TX called "Lake Somerville". It's a scenic drive to the Overlook Marina and Lake Somerville Dam. Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Check for local events happening all around such as Aggie Football Games, Snook ChiliFest, Market Days on the Square in Caldwell and much, much more!

Quiet natural location away from the busy city. Located on a private access uneven dirt road so a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle is recommended. There is a firepit but please burn inside the cinder blocks areas and keep it under control (not too big). Do not burn when it is windy. There should be wood available near the firepit. If more is needed, please help yourself to the branches on the land. Please make sure to completely put the fire out when done.
There are 6 acres and you are welcome to camp anywhere you like, in the open areas or in the woody areas in the back.
We have a RV barn area that can be used for shade, sitting, eating, relaxing, etc. You can use the tables and chairs. There is also a white water container on the table that you can use for washing.
There is a 32 gallon trash bucket that you can put trash in but make sure lid is closed when you're done to keep animals out.
This site does have limited solar electric power in RV area. To turn on, flip the white switch on the surge strip on the wall behind the microwave. There is no running water so please plan accordingly.
There is currently not a toilet available but I'm planning on building a composting toilet soon. For now, use the natural way and make sure to bury.
For security, there is one camera on the property located near the front entrance and it is mainly for monitoring the front entrance area. There is also another camera near the north side of RV barn for security of storage room and RV.
This site can also be used for long term parking/storing your RV or vehicle but we are not liable for anything that happens. If interested, please contact me or use the app called "Neighbor". The RV barn currently already has a RV inside it so that parking space can't be used. Our long-term plan is to also make the RV available but we would need to install an in ground septic system and electricity first.

The property borders a small creek and has abundant trees, and wildlife. Beautiful views from every vantage with a high field on one half of the property and a low bottom land near the creek where there are many options for a relaxing, private stay. Chose big sky or a more secluded spot. Incredible wildflowers on display in the spring. The property is not bordered by close neighbors or dense housing, just more land so sunsets and rises are wonderful and open. Low ambient light pollution at night means the stars are very bright (and so are the fireflies)!

Our 100 acre heritage property has been in the family for over 150 years. Since 2017, we've been operating our land as a Vegan, Regenerative-Agriculture Farm & Animal Sanctuary. We currently have 2 dogs, 3 cats plus a herd of 31 Cows, 4 Potbelly Pigs and 2 Spanish Goats. We also have a hike-and-bike, nature trail that offers a 360 loop around the property.
We have a new construction Bath House on site for restroom needs w/ hot showers and composting potties plus a cold-water sink w/ non-potable water suited for washing produce, hands, dishes or camping gear.

ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS! Camp Joy offers guests two docks available to use for fishing, lounging, getting in and out of kayaks on the property. The one shown was built as handicap accessible. This small lake is one of three lakes in the area called "Cade Lakes". Great for catching crappie, bass and catfish. Kids enjoy watching the turtles push each other off the logs seen around the banks. If you love to fish, the greatest fishing lake in Texas is a few miles away near Somerville, TX called "Lake Somerville". It's a scenic drive to the Overlook Marina and Lake Somerville Dam. Several State Parks surround Lake Somerville, the closest from this location is "Birch Creek State Park" with beautiful hiking trails. Highly recommend the drive to check the Parks out. Also recommend visiting "Washington on the Brazos", the birthplace of Texas and is where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. It is also a State Park. The "Aggieland Wild Animal Safari" is outside of Bryan College Station and is a great place to take the kids to interact with all kinds of animals. Offers a drive-thru in which you can drive thru as many times as you want, as well as a petting zoo and gift shop. And, if you like shopping, there are lots of antique shops and wineries at Round Top, another scenic drive about 45 minutes away. And all the ice cream lovers must visit the home of "Blue Bell" in Brenham, TX which is only open to the public during the weekdays, not weekends. While in Brenham, kids love to skate at the historic "Silver Wings Ballroom", known as one of the best skating rinks in Texas! Check for local events happening all around such as Aggie Football Games, Snook ChiliFest, Market Days on the Square in Caldwell and much, much more!

Quiet natural location away from the busy city. Located on a private access uneven dirt road so a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle is recommended. There is a firepit but please burn inside the cinder blocks areas and keep it under control (not too big). Do not burn when it is windy. There should be wood available near the firepit. If more is needed, please help yourself to the branches on the land. Please make sure to completely put the fire out when done.
There are 6 acres and you are welcome to camp anywhere you like, in the open areas or in the woody areas in the back.
We have a RV barn area that can be used for shade, sitting, eating, relaxing, etc. You can use the tables and chairs. There is also a white water container on the table that you can use for washing.
There is a 32 gallon trash bucket that you can put trash in but make sure lid is closed when you're done to keep animals out.
This site does have limited solar electric power in RV area. To turn on, flip the white switch on the surge strip on the wall behind the microwave. There is no running water so please plan accordingly.
There is currently not a toilet available but I'm planning on building a composting toilet soon. For now, use the natural way and make sure to bury.
For security, there is one camera on the property located near the front entrance and it is mainly for monitoring the front entrance area. There is also another camera near the north side of RV barn for security of storage room and RV.
This site can also be used for long term parking/storing your RV or vehicle but we are not liable for anything that happens. If interested, please contact me or use the app called "Neighbor". The RV barn currently already has a RV inside it so that parking space can't be used. Our long-term plan is to also make the RV available but we would need to install an in ground septic system and electricity first.

Everything was as listed. We car camped and were able to pull right next to the water. The fire wood was free and in big supplies! We caught some monster bass in the little lake. The bathroom was clean and well kept which was huge for us. We were the only ones staying there this weekend so it was pretty quiet which was nice. Overall good experience

My family and I had great time there. The property is beautiful. Site 22 is perfectly secluded from other sites. It's the closest to the restroom. Trees provide excellent shade and wind break. We loved exploring all the trails. The host family is amazing. We had a great time meeting the resident dogs. They are very gentle and passive. We're definitely going to return.

I stayed at site 10. Very secluded and surrounded by dense forest. You won’t see anyone until you leave the campsite. Julie gave me a map of the ranch when I checked in that has trail maps on it as well. The trails are marked with painted lids. They can be a bit confusing at times but I suspect that will improve with time. I did not use the amenities so I cannot comment on those. Outhouse is right next to the camping area entrance by site 15. From what I could tell the campsites had some wood already there and you are allowed to use any fallen limbs as firewood. Enjoy!

This is a GREAT spot!!! Stayed here with family (8 adults) and dogs (4; different sizes and ages) — Daniel was a wonderful host! Before our trip he sent over a lot of helpful pictures and information. Finding the property was easy with Google maps and we loved being able to choose where to put our tents and cars.
The dogs loved exploring the land as much as we did. The fire pit Daniel set up made cooking easy, and having the covered trash bin was a big help. Most of the land is flat and relatively clear - one of the people in our party was able to use his manual active wheelchair to get around. The stars and sky at night were amazing to look at!
We were also blessed to be joined by a local kitty for the duration of our stay. We named him “Pocket” - he got along great with our (4) dogs, and with all of the people. He enjoyed pets and sitting on any free lap. If you see “Pocket” be sure to give him some love!

So a friend of mine recommended this spot and the family liked the idea of camping Christmas weekend so that's what we did. Booked the cute little camper and pitched a tent outside. It worked out perfect for a family of 4 adults & 2 littles. The camper is so adorable and was very comfortable. They've got a mini fridge, coffee pot w/ coffee provided and even had a TV! Guys were able to watch the football game on a big screen! Oh and did I mention it's air conditioned! Huge fire pit and the outhouse was pretty cool. 2 showers and toilet and just across from the camper which was very nice. Towels and shampoo were provided even. They had canoes to use at your discretion. A swing for small ones. Very much a nice & cozy spot and would definitely camp there again!

The property is amazing. We spend two night here starting Christmas Day.
It was right up next to the Colorado river. So kayaking was a must, but up stream, currents were quite strong. So fun and peaceful.
We were left alone and the bath house was a great addition for tent camping for two nights.
A wonderful fire pit to cook on, and our request for fire wood was delivered!
Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at 5D ranch! Julie is laid back and helpful when you need her. The campsites are secluded and private. We were near the outhouse on this trip which was a unique experience. And the campsite dog, Abba, hung out with our group the entire weekend and ensured no wild animals approached our site. Wonderful time as always, and we will be back!

With kids
Terry has shared the perfect little slice of heaven with campers right next to the lone star trail! I stayed with my 3 small kids and we had everything we needed and some. Peaceful, beautiful views of pond and trees, convenient location with bathroom, outdoor shower, outdoor kitchen and spacious sites. We had the place to ourselves and enjoyed horseshoe and disc golf along with getting a couple small hikes in. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend :)
