Low Meadow Farms (formerly Brown Bike Farms) is a serene four-acre meadow bordered by Burnett Creek. The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping.
There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek.
There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area.
Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite.
Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. Site 12 is up high on a hill, and Site 13 is open in the middle of the meadow.

Clayton Geneva Camp Ground began as a retreat for our family since the 70's. My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family.
Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile.
Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy.
Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

Greenbrier Tn. one of the first settlements here in the National park is only a scenic 30 minute scenic drive from the farm which will takes you through the arts and crafts community while avoiding the hectic hustle and bustle of town .
While visiting Greenbrier you can find a picnic area near the river and an outdoor pavilion with a large grill for your special events located there .
Several trail heads are located there in the Greenbrier community including Brushy Mountain trail Old settlers trail (several old settlements can easily be found here) Porters Gap trail.
There are too many local attractions to list within 15 to 25 minute drive , from horseback riding . tubing, rafting , smoky mountain gravity park to shopping outlet malls . READ !! After many visits, this was my first time solo tent camping at Out on the Creek. I appreciate the care taken to ensure each guest has a great experience. The grounds are ALWAYS very well maintained. The large (and always clean) picnic table, fire pit, & cooking grates, charcoal grill, & 110 electric appreciated. This year they added a beautiful wooden swing with shade canopy which I spent most of my time on! The creek was too cold yet to play, so I enjoyed watching & listening to it. It's always a pleasure to visit. Still my favorite campsite!

Angelica and Patrick have a wonderful thing going here. They are so friendly! There are cabins, platforms, parking, and tent sites located on a stretch of wooded land right beside the River, and a big barn/pavilion space very close by with clean bathrooms, a stage for performing (too bad the singer who they thought might come do a couple of sets couldn't make it), some really interesting farm equipment on display, church pews for weddings, and a mini-museum of Patrick's rocks and geodes from his days as a geologist.
At twilight Patrick puts on the Owl Call recording (as long as his favorite resident squirrel isn't nearby) and brings a couple of huge owls to camp. They sit in the tops of trees and talk to each other for a while. There are also some chickens on the property, a frog pond, and scores of bird feeders that draw a beautiful variety. Dogs are allowed to accompany campers if kept on leashes (for the chickens' sakes) and my dog had just as good a time as I did.
It was too cold to get in the water so we didn't take advantage of the kayaks or tubes available to rent, but we did all have the Costa Rican breakfast on Sunday morning, cooked to order by Angelica, and so delicious.
They were so accommodating. It was a wonderful weekend!

We will definitely be nearly stay here again. This place is beyond cool and has been owned by the same family for generations. I especially appreciate the wonderful home cooked meals and the ambiance of the creek and wild life. This family is also extremely knowledgeable about geology and high-quality coffee. If you are in the area and you pass this place up. You need to ask yourself, “what am I doing with my life”. This is a once in a lifetime kinda place.

Beautiful location, and a wonderfully scenic drive in. I didn’t stay by the river, but did walk down to the banks. It was so serene. I enjoyed the sounds of the frogs while watching the fireflies blink in the night. Would certainly stay here again.

Patrick and Angelica were warm, wonderful hosts. My fiancé and I stayed in our 24' camper van conversion, and there was plenty of space for the size of our rig + more. The camp is well kept, clean, and absolutely beautiful and right next to the river. Lots of opportunity for forest walks, sitting next to the river, and wildlife spotting. Our time there was deeply relaxing, I highly recommend staying!

This is an absolute gem of a campground. Site 10 is so perfect and surrounded on 3 sides by a gorgeous little creek. My sister and I tent camped with our 3 dogs and there was plenty of space to spread out the dog ties without them getting tangled up in things. It felt very private even with other campers close by on other sites. The bathroom was clean and the site was easy to access. The only thing was there is no dumpster on site so you must pack your trash out with you, but it was no big deal considering all the other perks. There is a small wood shelter where you can pay a few bucks for plenty of wood. There is even a few chairs and, a small charcoal grill, and a cooking grate available to borrow if you need them which was such a sweet touch! We were able to use the grate as we forgot ours. All in all, it was an amazing place to camp and we will definitely be back.

I checked in around 5pm on April 30th, 2026. I was shortly greeted by one the owners Aaron who was cleaning up the property before the rest of the campers showed up. His vibe was relaxed and fun. They have a bath bag. City water. Portable bathroom with toilet paper a pavilion with firewood for good pricing and maps/pamphlets of surrounding activities to explore.
As a local to Knoxville, this was a nice place to kick up my feet creek side while my dog exhausted her self. Spend 3 nights there, starbucks and lowes & a pet store just a few miles away.
Site #4 was spacious with a great area to walk through the creek. Fire pit was clean and operable with the portable bathroom a short walk away. The site is on the main strip of the gravel way, but it is a campground, so vehicle activity is to be expected. During the day most the campers left and i was left pretty much solo on the entire campground. Was a lot of fun with friendly and respectful other campers on the ground!

I loved tent camping so close to town in a secluded spot next to beautiful trees and a stream. The sound of the water made it easy to sleep after a day of adventure. The fire wood options made it easy to use the fire pit, and the picnic table was a level place to make breakfast.

Can’t say enough good things about this campsite! Beautiful area, amazing landscaping, everyone we met was so nice, helpful, & accommodating. We felt very safe in the area & we definitely will find ourselves back here in the near future!

Where to go
Anderson County
Campgrounds are scattered along the shoreline beside Norris Dam, which sits at the southwestern edge of the lake in Anderson County. Small towns with camping, glamping, and RV sites include Rocky Top, Norris, and Andersonville.
Norris Dam State Park
The 19 cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps at Norris Dam State Park merge Depression-era history with modern amenities. The sprawling lakefront park also has two campgrounds, both with tent and RV campsites. A marina and a Southern Appalachia museum are bonus highlights.
Big Ridge State Park
Lakeside campsites accommodate tents and RVs at Big Ridge State Park, another Depression-era park constructed by the TVA and the CCC. Watersports are popular here, but hikers have plenty of options too, with 15 miles of trails exploring the forests, hollows, and ridges. Campgrounds are also scattered across the towns of Maynardville and New Tazewell.
Knoxville
Tennessee’s capital and the home of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville is a convenient launchpad for campers looking to mix urban adventuring with paddling and fishing at Norris Lake. In Knoxville, ride the elevator to the observation area atop the soaring Sunsphere, then check out the quarry and the nature center inside the Urban Wilderness, a network of parks and multi-use trails scattered across the city. Campgrounds surround the downtown area.
