Low Meadow Farms (formerly Brown Bike Farms) is a serene four-acre meadow bordered by Burnett Creek. The campground is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and an even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in. It is a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. It is best suited for car camping, RVs, tent, and hammock camping. There are fire pits and picnic tables at each site with enough room for tents and RVs. Most sites have trees suitable for hammock camping all along the creek. There is potable water, firewood for sale, solar showers, and a bike wash stand all next to the covered communal area. Each standard site can accommodate 2 people to keep space between groups and lessen the impact on the land. Sites 10 and 13 can each accommodate 6 guests. If you have more in your group, we recommend reserving an adjoining campsite. Sites 1, 2 and 3 are off the main path to the left of the property, and still by the creek. Sites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all along the creek and gravel drive Site 10 is very private with creek access on three sides. Site 11 is private with creek access all along the front. Site 12 is up high on a hill, and Site 13 is open in the middle of the meadow.

The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. There is wildlife in the area so be sure food and trash are inside your RV or vehicle. Do not leave food or trash out as that will attract wildlife. We were there during a late Sept heat wave, so having full hookups meant we could run the AC for our little dog during the day, and the night time breezes were wonderful with the windows open. The sites are out in the open and close to each other, but we didn't mind at all. We would definitely recommend Andrew's sites!

8 nights at Ellis Cove

Ellis Cove offered us an amazing campsite! The campground is close to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge, but it is remote enough to offer peace, quiet, and a sky full of stars. The area is clean and well -maintained and right on n the river. We plan to return next year with friends.

It was very quiet. We were on site 5 the best in my opinion. We did not have pets this trip but they are welcome here. If you want a fire on your site you will need to bring a portable fire pit. They have a community one but we wanted to relax alone by the fire. The river was wonderful to cool off in. It is right off the road so there was some road noise but nothing bad.

This was a dream location for a very peaceful getaway. Our only regret is we had to leave to meet others, next time we stay parked. The river is so relaxing, the property is superb, and friendly owners. The fire pit area is perfect for a late night with friends.

I cannot even express, the love that has gone into this home away from home. It what we needed. Patrick and his amazing wife were the best Host! We left feeling like family. This will definitely be a destination spot for us forever. So many cool suggestions from Patrick to explore, in Williamsburg. The campground is beautifully taken care of. The water is right there out your tent or RV front door. Restroom, clean, well lit. They have so many amenities, very affordable. Next time we will definitely be getting all of the breakfast options! Getting ready to book our fall adventure!

7 nights at Patrick's Point River Camp

The campground was quiet. There were a lot of chickens and roosters running around. You could hear them crowing in the mornings. There were a lot of birds because they have well used bird houses everywhere. You can watch goldfinches and barn swallows of plenty that you could watch fly in and out. There were owls that you could hear at night. An eagle flies up and down the river occasionally. There are also quite a few deer that wonder in. There is a waterfall in walking distance if you don’t mind a slight hike. Rabbits were rather plentiful too. There is plenty of room to walk around. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we didn’t get to go canoeing due to all the flooding around Kentucky right now. It was nice to watch the river moving though. The down side, in a way, was the lights. They have security lights that are pretty bright but as long as you block all the windows at night (close all curtains) it is nice. It sounds amazing at night! The light, as I said is very bright. It was very quiet too and we were there from Sunday to the following Sunday. No loud parties and whatnot. There is some junk and whatnot sitting around but it isn’t distracting. It’s also not where you would trip over it so to speak and not near the water. The hosts were incredibly nice and helpful. We were able to sit and talk with them in the shelter. There is plenty of room to explore and for any kids to play. There is some things for kids to play on and disc golf baskets.

It is a beautiful view, flat area on site. Easy to set up. Rebekah is great host. I found that I needed 4 wheel drive engaged to access site. Once on top, flat with beautiful views, first time I got to see fire flies.

We had a great camping trip at Patrick’s. Staff were fun to talk too and get ideas about local attractions. Bathrooms and showers were always clean and had warm water. Our family chose a primitive camping site near the river and enjoyed privacy and quiet. Two of the days we were there had rain and we were able to hang out and dry out a bit under the main barn. Would definitely recommend the location as long as no doubt exists about ability to attend. Grandparents weren’t able to attend as per medical reasons and received no refund as per the policy.
