Fern Brook Nashville

This 37-acre timber farm was once part of a huge plantation owned by one of the first settlers in Tennessee. It is now registered and part of a Timber Forestry program with many old-growth trees (Tulip Poplars are Tennessee's state tree and there are some big ones here). There are steep hills and creeks weaving throughout this property. I love coming out here and escaping the city as you feel like you are deep in the woods yet still close to Nashville, Hendersonville, Old Hickory Lake and I-65. This property is surrounded by hundreds of acres of timberland which accounts for all the wildlife in the area. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent, hang your hammock, or camp in your vehicle and listen to the year-round spring-fed streams. Feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but know that you are still an Uber/Lyft ride away from downtown Nashville. You are also close to everything in Hendersonville, White House, Goodlettsville, and Old Hickory Lake. 1.5 miles from one of my favorite coffee shops, Authentic Coffee Co., and a handful of local restaurants (White House Pizza is a great one too and not far away). This campsite is on a 37-acre tract in the Timber Forestry program so it is all mature trees, hills, and creeks. More info on the property: There are nice year-round creeks so you'll always have water. Plenty of firewood laying around from fallen branches and limbs. Please don't cut into any live trees though. Each site is clearly marked and has a designated area. Please try to stay around your campsite out of respect for other campers. Each site has plenty of space. Don't be surprised to see animals, beautiful birds, and all kinds of wildlife. You'll also hear the woods come alive at night, especially the frogs during the spring and summer. The Owls are my favorite though. Details on the sites: There are 2 campsites close enough should you want to book multiple sites with a group, but far enough away where you will not be disturbed. Campsite #1 is the first campsite which is tucked in between two large hills right alongside a creek. Campsite #2 is a little further back in the property alongside the creek. This is slightly more open and right on the creek as well. Both sites have plenty of good spots for a tent or hammock. You can drive and park at both sites as long as you have decent ground clearance (Examples of vehicles that have stayed: Toyota Highlander, Honda CRV, Subaru Outback, Jeeps). Many cars including a Toyota Prius have also made it back though. I am constantly improving these campsites so expect tables, shovels, and all kinds of things to make your camping more enjoyable. There will also be new campsites coming soon, including an off-grid tiny cabin, and primitive sites that would require a hike to access. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. There are just 6 full RV hook up sites with electric, water, sewer and new gravel pads. There is free WIIFI, and laundry room on the farm for guests and shower/bathroom and restroom facilities at the main barn. There are plenty of lovely walking trails around the farms 130 acres. It is a quiet peaceful place, perfect for retired seniors and temporary traveling working professionals. This is a working horse farm, with several different breeds of horses. We do our own hay, and occasionally we have horse clinics. I have sliced off a little bit of heaven for the camping area, so you are still private but not too far from the horses and barns! Shelbyville town is just 4 miles away, and has the usual restaurants and shops you would normally find. So if you like dogs, horses and country music, bring your boots and come on down!! Fish for free! Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent in our hay field, next to the horses. Just a brief 5 minute walk away from the communal Cowboy lounge with Free Wi Fi. There are Catfishes in the pond, so you'll always have something to grill if you want to fish for dinner! It's lovely walking your dog on a leash around the ranch and hearing the coyotes of an evening and watching the sunsets. If you need more activities, Nashville is just one hour away, and Jack Daniels in Lynchburg is just 15 minutes away.

We are less than 15 minutes from I-24 Exit 97, between Manchester and Murfreesboro, just south of Nashville in Beechgrove/Christiana, TN. Only a short drive to Hop Springs and Bonaroo. From the top of the ridge, sloping paths call the experienced hikers while the views call those who just want to enjoy “being.” Hike the relatively undeveloped paths or stroll along the defined walkways. It comprises 63 acres of wooded ridges and hollows with exceptional hiking and distinct landscape features. Smith Fork Creek, which feeds Center Hill Lake, is visible from the campsite. Quarter Spring Farm’s history is murky and still being discovered. The house is over 100 years old. There are stone property walls that may predate the civil war. We believe this site was a Mississippian period settlement because of the large amount of artifacts we have found.

Greeter Falls Campground is located less than a half mile from the Greeter Falls Trailhead, adjacent to the 16,000 acre Savage Gulf Wilderness area offering over 50 miles of well-marked trails for every skill level. The .08 mile Greeter Falls Trail loop connects you to three awe inspiring waterfalls as well as the nearby Blue Hole swimming area. We offer many recreational options to help you enjoy the area including Primitive Tent spots, furnished Yurts (Bell Tents) and RV/Travel Trailer sites (each with electrical and water hook-ups). Unlike many RV camps where sites are over-packed into a cramped trailer park setting, all our sites are ensconced within sparsely inhabited raw timberland; with less than 3 sites per acre versus an average of 10-15 nationally. The best part about this site are the views! Relax on the side of the Cumberland Plateau while overlooking Burroughs Cove and the Elk River. There is an electrical box at each end of the graveled parking area (Sites 1 & 2) with 20 and 30 amp plugs. A water container with non-potable water is on site for your use. There is also an outhouse, picnic table, and a fire ring. We are located just minutes away from the The Caverns, South Cumberland State Park, Bigfoot Adventures, and many other attractions. The graveled camping area is fairly close to Hwy 50 so please expect to hear some road noise. Need firewood? Please let us know at least 48 hours prior to arrival and we can coordinate to have it delivered to your campsite before you arrive, enough wood for the night (and then some) $35.
