Our rustic campground is located on the outside western edge of our VERY small and quiet historic town, just 44 minutes south of I-90, 30 minutes from Sioux Falls or 10 minutes west of I-29 and just 8 minutes to Swan Lake for water fun! A short walk from the campground will take you "downtown" to the The Davis Bar or to the General Store for souvenirs, antiques, treats, basic groceries or to pick up more of our homemade jams! Pets are welcomed here at Solace Farm if they are on a leash while onsite. We will have a small convenience store open onsite this fall so you can enjoy your stay with easy access to needs and treats. At your check in we will meet you with a welcome gift of a jar of our homemade jam and a loaf of fresh bread to give your morning that little touch of farm charm. Our rustic little hobby farm is open for you to pitch your tent or small camper in your choice of spaces and we are open to ALL people. We are however unable to accommodate pull behind campers or RV’s in excess of 26'. Site number #2 is a pull through campsite for a pull behind camper, and sites #5 and #6 are pull though for a SMALL pull behind camper, all sites will accommodate tent camping and your drive directly to your site after check-in. Each camp site has a fire ring, picnic table or vintage chairs for you. Firewood is available to purchase. Group Discounts are available, please message us for more information. Our rural setting at Solace Farm offers bird watching, walking areas, great places to ride your bike, a nearby river to explore, playground, tree swings, the farm animals, evenings with stargazing, the communal fire pit, and a fabulous sunsets to enjoy. Please supervise your children at all times) The second Saturday of each month there is a Flea Market in downtown Davis and is a great time to book! The campground includes a 7 foot firepit with a tree swing and there is a grill and picnic tables for our campers to use. We welcome travelers on their way to and from the Sturgis Bike Rally in August as we are located on Highway 18, a safer alternative for motorcycles to driving on Interstate 90.Depending on the season, there is almost always something to pick, whether it be cherries, apples, mulberries, plums, rhubarb or something from our garden! The camp area is a few minutes from the main house, and feel free ask for input during booking to determine which sites have the most privacy if you'd prefer quiet time. We have been working on our “Glamper” and she is NOT currently available for use. Upgrades happen every year and we LOVE the feedback from our campersUPDATE DUE TO COVID-19: We our campers to practice social distancing, and respect all others. If you need any resource however, it is close at-hand. We are a rural South Dakota property. We live conveniently just a half mile off of I29 at the Flandreau exit but down a quiet dirt road. We love to travel ourselves but routinely have company staying on our property in their horse trailers, campers and tents. One recent visit from family out of CA in their camper had us considering joining the list of hosts for Hip Camp, as that is how they had been traveling throughout the pandemic and felt we'd be a good addition to the mix. So here we are! There are no amenities currently in the spot we feel works best but we'd love to see how this fits with our property and lifestyle and give it a try. A little more about us and where you would be staying, we are a combined family with four teenage kids coming and going. My husband is a farrier (shoes horses) and a former professional team roper, so we've got an acreage with horses. Keeping them company are a donkey, two goats, a few dogs and a varying number of cats roaming the property at any given time. While our horses are often in a separate pasture during the winter months, there is a lot of activity in the arena during the spring, summer and fall. Local kids and adults can often be seen training, roping, goat tying, or running barrels. We have never offered riding for visitors but may look into it for special weekend events as we embark on this new adventure. A little about the community we call home - it is an historic, diverse and cool little town worth exploring. We've got a lot of new development in the works with our tribal community and city, many great local places to eat and grab a drink, communities nearby like Brookings, Sioux Falls, and Pipestone where you can bike, hike, boat and fish, and enjoy being as alone as you want or together with the locals. We also work with a local tribal educator who is available to book time with if you'd like to learn more about the Native history in our area and a few words in the Dakota language. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table. The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. New for 2023 is a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing. Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups. My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 2 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire. When we were kids we spent time on this property riding bike, horses, and exploring. We have turned this 13 acre property into 22 site campground that we are excited to share with you. We have also moved a house west of the campground that is available on Airbnb/VRBO (Sweet Retreat, 5 bedrooms, 2 bath) Nestled in a bed of trees just 2 miles from I-90 and 1/4 mile South of the Luverne City Park. This property has 10 camp spots. Sites 1 and 10 have a boat landing. Sites 1,4,5, 6 and 10 have shades trees that can hold hammocks. All sites are right next to the lake. Site 6 has a dock that all can use. There is excellent swimming with a sandy bottom at the south end of the lake. The lake is stocked with walleye in the spring by the DNR and has other fish as well. It is also close to many lakes that are good for fishing. I have a 14' fishing boat with trolling motor, a paddle boat, a kayak, and canoe for campers to use for free. Firewood is available for $5/day. There is some hiking on the property and much near by. Biking is also good with small lakes nearby to visit. The camping here is very peaceful with wonderful views and the wildlife is awesome! 120 volt power is at all sites and 220 can reach sites 4 and 5. There is warm showers and flushing toilets. Also all sites are drive through on hard ground grass. Grates are provided for cooking over the fire. There is Wi-Fi internet that reaches sites 1-5.

Camp Carlow is located 2 miles from the beautiful Ponca State Park which offers hiking trails, a new swimming pool, a shooting range and play grounds. Tours are also available of the Cook Blacksmith Shop and Adams House Museum in Ponca.

The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table. The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. When we were kids we spent time on this property riding bike, horses, and exploring. We have turned this 13 acre property into 22 site campground that we are excited to share with you. We have also moved a house west of the campground that is available on Airbnb/VRBO (Sweet Retreat, 5 bedrooms, 2 bath) Nestled in a bed of trees just 2 miles from I-90 and 1/4 mile South of the Luverne City Park. Camping on private lake

This property has 10 camp spots. Sites 1 and 10 have a boat landing. Sites 1,4,5, 6 and 10 have shades trees that can hold hammocks. All sites are right next to the lake. Site 6 has a dock that all can use. There is excellent swimming with a sandy bottom at the south end of the lake. The lake is stocked with walleye in the spring by the DNR and has other fish as well. It is also close to many lakes that are good for fishing. I have a 14' fishing boat with trolling motor, a paddle boat, a kayak, and canoe for campers to use for free. Firewood is available for $5/day. There is some hiking on the property and much near by. Biking is also good with small lakes nearby to visit. The camping here is very peaceful with wonderful views and the wildlife is awesome! 120 volt power is at all sites and 220 can reach sites 4 and 5. There is warm showers and flushing toilets. Also all sites are drive through on hard ground grass. Grates are provided for cooking over the fire. There is Wi-Fi internet that reaches sites 1-5.

County Line Campground

The farm that County Line Campground sits on was once owned by the Snoozy family from the time of being homesteaded (except for the occasional break in the Abstract where it may have been used as card game collateral). Not until 1931 did the farm come to stay in the name of Harry Snoozy & family until his death in the 1980's and then the family trust sold to the current owners Michael/Susan Larson in 2001. I have rented and operated the farm since 2001. Harry spent his time operating the 151 acres of this farm, milking cows, raising Holstein steers, as well as sheep and hogs. He was well known for his off-farm work of shearing sheep and concrete work. Harry always stamped his cement work with the year he did it, the concrete her on the farm has the year as early as 1954 to as late as 1979 (there were some posts that had been cemented in dated 1981 but those have been removed for livestock pen renovation). Harry was well known in the area for other forms of "income" like handling black market fruit and transportation of illegal liquor. It was also said that during World War 2 that the now gone root cellar on the farm was the only place to get a bottle of whiskey on Sunday afternoon. According to Harry's nephew that resides in the area he also did time at SD State Penitentiary for of all things... stealing chickens. Despite the changed ownership of the farm 21 years ago everyone in the area knows it as Harry's. Learn more about this land:County Line Campground is a 4 site campground on the Lincoln/Turner County line. The camping area consists of a grass area with a variety of trees for shade. Fire pits and firewood provided. We encourage recycling so designated containers for aluminum/tin cans and other waste items provided. Toilet facility consists of a well kept block built outhouse original to the farm and a chemical toilet provided as well. County line is located on a gravel road just 3/4 mile from a paved road. County line is also a working corn, soybean, alfalfa, and cow/calf producing farm although there is no longer a house on the property. During your stay you are welcome to observe/participate in any of the daily tasks and duties of the farm. One of our goals with County Line is to help others become more aware of how production agriculture works on a sustainable level. You will be able to observe cattle grazing pastures as well as cattle being fed for market. County line is located just 2 miles from Centerville, SD where Total Stop grocery store, Centerville Steakhouse, Mushy's bowling alley/bar, Maria's Mexican restaurant, convenience store, Desert Inn bar, and public swimming pool at park in summer months. Due to South Dakota weather we only book camping April 1st through November 15th. We are in our "fledgling" year here at County Line and look forward to adding/improving amenities in the future Thanks for considering County Line Campground hope to see you soon and in years to come!
