Weekend Trip to Camp Moondog

The perfect retreat right on the river, the hosts were great, making us welcome then leaving us to enjoy. Our pup has a new favorite spot to retrieve in the water. And five minutes away Buffet Latino was serving a full Puerto Rican buffet at 9 am! The perfect exit!

It was our first time camping and it was a great experience from the beginning. Mike came to welcome us and show us the place around which was really nice. The space is great, the view is amazing, it’s crazy it’s so close to the actual city and you actually feel far away like others have said already. You can hear the nature, we didn’t see any animals, the river was super nice too. In general a great experience that I would 100% recommend.

It was a nice private spot with lots of branches to make a fire. The river is right nearby which is very nice. It is a great camping spot that is very convenient given how close it is to town.

Staying at Camp Dogmoon was an enchanting experience. The camp, situated right on the river, allowed for incredible views of the wildlife. We even heard beaver slaps on our second night. As I was leaving, I made a mistake and got my car stuck in the mud. The camp hosts quickly got me out of the mud and on my way. I would 100% recommend staying at Camp Dogmoon. It is easily one of my favorite campsites I have stayed at so far.

Land was great and clear for our trip. Felt secluded but a short drive to town if you forget anything, really the best of both worlds. Was very easy to navigate and the site was clean. Mike was super friendly and helpful the entire trip!

If you’re reading this review, you don’t need to read any others! Quintessential, totally classic, green, breathtaking views, and impeccable hospitality in North Carolina farm country! Steve has thoughtfully planned out and anticipated every need you could have on his land. Shower, cleaning table, dry firewood, fire pit, a swing set for the kids, fenced in Hipcamp for the pets, soft, green and manicured grass surrounded with trees for privacy, away from the road, quiet, clothes line, electric, potable water - everything!!! Look no further for your next Hipcamp in North Carolina - enjoy so many beautiful places to explore within 20-30 minutes! Plenty of green grass - level - for tents also!

7 nights at Serenity on the Saluda

This was a beautiful secluded spot where my husband and our two dogs stayed. Even with a little rain we had so much luck fishing and just truly enjoyed all the time spent there! We will definitely go back!

Patrick is an excellent host. Very attentive. Camp site was recently cleared nicely for our arrival with fresh cut grass. Toilet was clean and stocked with paper and hand sanitizer. Well marked camp with posted sign easily seen from river. Fire wood available. Amber responded immediately to questions on hip camp app. Patrick answered all questions regarding the camp site and river conditions.

Weekend Trip to Camp Moondog

This was my first time using hipcamp. Based on my experience with this trip, not only will I be staying at Moondog again but I'll also be using hipcamp more. The hosts were great. They went above and beyond and provided help and advice whenever possible. They were also quick to respond to any messages. The location is great. You're minutes from stores for last minute essentials and downtown Greenville is a short drive away. You're right on the river and it feels secluded. We were at the far out and the site was clean. There is a hill but anyone moderately fit will have no problem with it and the hosts even helped transport our items with their four wheeler. I would highly recommend this place.

Great spot by the river! Very peaceful and beautiful with the river flowing past. Host greeted us and helped carry some stuff down to the site. It’s very private, but you’re not far from town. We were able to go into Greenville (downtown about 15 minutes away) to walk around town and get lunch and Walmart (5 minutes away) to get some supplies and ice. The river is about a 10 ft drop from the site, so maybe worrisome with kids but it prevented our dog from getting soaking wet. We climbed down for a little swim when it got too warm. Would love to come back!

This was me and my boyfriend’s first time camping and we absolutely loved camping on John’s property! He was very kind and helpful. Very spacious and private area. There is a lot of space and privacy between you and the RV/Tent camp site. There are a couple spots to fish and the river was so calm and peaceful. This was the perfect campsite, and even for us rookies it was the perfect amount of primitive. The outhouse was clean and well kept as well. It’s closer to the Tent Site than the RV/Tent site if you are wondering. Less than 10 minutes to town if there’s anything that you forgot to bring. We loved it and are already ready to go back!

We had a great experience at Emberglow. Their staff was friendly and helpful, the campground had a ton of amenities, was perfect for our young family and is very well taken care of. We plan to return soon!

2 nights at 3 Creeks Camp and Nature Preserve

We had the whole camp to ourselves which was so nice. It was quiet and there was a fun creek for the kids to play in. Some of the bathrooms could use some more upkeep but other than that we had a great stay and Damon was very nice!

Pisgah Riverbend

This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest. Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability. Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards. Enjoy a short day trip to the Clemson University campus area and it's surrounding attractions. We are only 40 minutes from Denver Downs Farms where there are a lot of exciting festivals and events throughout the year. In just about 2 hours you can be in the Asheville area where you can enjoy and take in the local attractions and gorgeous mountain views. Another short jaunt into Georgia takes you to Hartwell and it's quaint southern atmosphere near Lake Hartwell. Additional short trips and you'll find more water, fishing, fun and sights on scenic Lake Russell and the Savannah River. You are also welcome to hang out here on the property with us too and enjoy visiting our animals. ASK ABOUT OUR SANCTUARY TOURS.
