Weekend Trip to Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

We really enjoyed our time at Craig’s site! The campsite (2) felt very private. We have three boys ages 16 years to 4 years old and they loved it as well. We also brought our two fur babies. The river is just feet away from the campsite and was perfect for floating. We brought sand toys as well which was perfect for the sandy area. The bathroom was a fantastic plus. Craig was fast to respond with any questions we had. We can’t wait to come back!

This worked out well for a night stay in the Brevard NC area. The site is on a residential property in a neighborhood, but there is plenty of space and privacy from other homes.

Weekend Trip to The Confluence

Beautiful piece of property right on the Mills River. Had a great time camping myself, and even with other campers in the other spots was still very secluded. Short walk to River access or the outhouse (which was way cleaner than I expected). Saw a few groundhogs and swam in the River. In my spot there wasn’t too much to come by for hammock setup, but there is plenty around. Phil even came by and checked on me in the evening. Had a great time and I will be back.

Awesome retreat!! Very quiet. Owners are super nice. The hot tub & Mountain View was awesome. Definitely returning. Probably my favorite place to go.

3 nights at Little River Hideaway

We enjoyed a wonderful quiet weekend at this somewhat secluded campsite. Very large space with full hook up, large enough for two campers. This is in a residential neighborhood with a nearby, beautiful community garden, not in a campground. Host Jann was an excellent host, clear directions, and information was provided upfront. The location worked well for us as we used it as a homebase to do day trips to Dupont forest and looking glass hiking, town was about 15 minutes. The WiFi was helpful to stay connected since there is no cell service much of anywhere in Pisgah. We will definitely be back!

We loved this space, and the other two spots looked great also for different reasons. Our space was very peaceful, felt very secluded, and was generally very quiet. Lots of trails around to explore, and the bathhouse was very clean. Clayton was very responsive and helpful. We look forward to returning soon.

Weekend Trip to Indian Creek Rental's Mountain Camp

My partner and I had a great stay in the Moonshine camper! The site is awesome with outdoor furniture and cooking equipment provided. The restrooms are also very close and clean. We are already looking forward to coming back in the future!

3 nights at Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

Loved the quietness and the feeling of being totally remote being do close to Greenville. It was perfect for friends to be able to come up for the day to enjoy the river with us, but allowed us to still be "camping". The facilities are just a described and the hosts are great communicators. We will be back.

1 night at At the Ridge Camp-Riverside Escapes

Super sweet and helpful staff! Bed was comfortable, river outside the cabin was absolutely beautiful. The cabin as clean and adorable. So many things to do nearby! Reception isn’t great but there’s a community center right up the road not even half a mile with open network that works great and they do have a WiFi spot on the campground as well. The cell service was not even close to a deal breaker this place felt like a home away from home! We absolutely loved it!

This is an older campground that doesn't seem to have a lot of customers these days, but it's still a nice place to settle down for a little while. We had the place mostly to ourselves, and enjoyed sitting outside and watching the fireflies in the trees. The campground is an open, grassy field that is part of a cute family farm along a small road that doesn't see a lot of traffic. There are nine sites, not crowded at all, but with no trees or anything between the sites. The water and 30 amp electric were reliable. Tracie, the hostess, and her daughter were good friendly hosts that checked on us daily. The bathhouse is very old and doesn't seem to have been updated in a very long time, but it was clean when we arrived and there was a flushing toilet, a shower and plenty of hot water. There's only one spot each for men and ladies. We did not have cellular voice nor data service in the campground but with the open skies, the Starlink worked great. There was one older camper at the top end of the campground that appeared to be occupied by people that lived in that site. Another small camper was parked in another site that was overgrown with weeds; no one was at that site while we were there and I wondered if the camper was derelict. These two didn't directly affect us at all, but it did give a sense that the campground had seen happier times. Overall, not a bad place, basic hookups and close to town.

Serenity on Saluda was very nice and peaceful just what we like! And the hostess was very nice and accommodating!

This was an amazing site with gorgeous wooded surroundings and privacy to just relax. Highly recommend if you enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. The bathroom was super nice. The trails were a fun addition when we didn't feel like venturing out. Clayton & Tiffany's directions were spot on! We had no issues finding the site and had a great time.

Raven Rock

The first camp site is just below the water fall and the other site over looks the pond. The property is very remote and private.

Nero Coffee is a coffee brand based in the mountains on Western North Carolina, so when you camp at Nero Coffee + Camp you can enjoy a great cup of coffee (free coffee in my "coffee shed" on property!) and enjoy a relaxing spot in the mountains. Nero Coffee's mission is to create connection between people through sharing great coffee and conversation outdoors. I started Nero Coffee in 2019 and purchased 6 acres near DuPont State Forest to share my land and create my own coffee campground to continue growing the mission. Update for 2024! Nero Coffee's Camping Spot has three ways to camp. Site 1: Glamping in my custom built (and way too adorable) mini A frame cabin. This cabin is tucked in the rhododendrons for complete privacy. Enjoy the super comfy bed and unique lifting side door to let the outdoors in :) or Site 2: Camping with room for up to 8 guests. There are multiple sites and so much room to spread out for groups up to 8 people. This year I am only opening tent camping for one group at a time so you can experience the mountains in the most peaceful setting. The upper camping area has plenty of flat areas for vans, cars, trucks and tents, and if you don't mind carrying our tent down the hill, the lower creekside camping area is THE PERFECT stargazing spot. There's plenty of room to set up any size tent down there, too. basically, You have the campground to make yourself totally at home. Site 3: Simple Car Camping Spot - Just want a spot to pull over camp for the night close toDuPont State Forest? We can make that happen. No tents allowed here, but it's a peaceful alternative to a cracker barrel parking lot. ----- Once you set up camp feel free to visit the Coffee Shed - It's a small shed on the property by the house that has everything you need to make a great cup of coffee. Coffee is always free. :) I have fire pits, tables an, if I am home, I have a super cute corgi that roams around the property throughout the day. If you spot me outside feel free to say hi or ask any questions about the area. I love helping guests find new places to explore. You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :) ------- Larger group? Want an indoor bath and shower?? If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. It's honestly the perfect spot for private, group camping and glamping up to 15 people. Just send me your date request and I will share a link to book if your dates are available. (2 night minimum for all full campground requests)

The Quack Shack

This site is accessed via a short trail through the trees down a gentle, sloping hill, and finally by a short stairway, and as such it may not be easily accessible for campers with limited mobility. Located on the grounds of the Duckpond Pottery, The Quack Shack is a secluded treehouse perched along the banks of the French Broad River. The structure is an 8x10 A-frame that transforms via a hinged wall into an open-air cabana with a charming deck that affords spectacular views of the French Broad River and surrounding countryside. The interior of the Quack Shack, with its vaulted 11-foot ceiling and earthen plaster walls, provides a warm glow in a rainforest environment. It is furnished with a comfortable seating area surrounding a coffee table that can be easily converted to a full-size queen bed at night. On the outside deck are beach chairs and a chimenea available for use. The quack shack has electric power (1 outlet only). Amenities include a bathroom located a short walk away at the main building as well as an open-air on-demand shower located off the bathroom on a deck overlooking the French Broad River. Morning coffee and tea is available at The Tea Hut located just a hop, skip, and jump from the treehouse. NOTE: The Duckpond Pottery is a working studio pottery and gallery that is open to the public. It is also home to occasional open-air house concerts on the deck at the pottery. The host generally blocks concert dates, however, it is worth double-checking with the host that there will not be a concert if you desire a quieter experience.

This RV site is on our property where we first lived in a mobile home. We love camping and thought what a great place for a quite retreat. So we made the site into a full hook up RV camp site. Beautiful location with a view of Table Rock located in the Historic Oolenoy Valley. Our property is located in Northern Pickens Co. of South Carolina. Plenty of trails, boating, biking in the area or just sit under your awning and enjoy the wildlife. Important please read! There is not evening shade in July and August, However, there are shady spots very close to the camp site that you can enjoy. Where your camper sits the Sun goes down at the front of the camper. It is typically not an issue until mid-July and August. If you need additional details, please contact me. There are two homes near the camp site. The one behind the site is our home. Just me and my wife, currently no pets. The other home is a small white farmhouse that I currently rent to close friends. Chris and his wife and two well behaved kids. The kind of neighbors' people dream of! In five years of renting this site I have only had one couple that felt uncomfortable with the homes on our driveway. The Confluence

This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River as well as shaded private mountain trails. This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company. Four-wheel-drive is recommended for rainy weather.

Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. Cherryfield Luxury Group Camping exceeded our expectations. The shelters and grounds were prestine and the covered platforms were definately the way to go car camping. Our tents stayed neat and the covered shelter kept us dry and cozy as we watched the rain on our second night without a fly on our tent.This campsite has thought of everything. There are grills an firepits beside each platform (each platform is large enough for 3 four person tents) and there are two common shelters with electricity and GORGEOUS bathrooms. It is funny to say, but the bathrooms were nicer than many hotels we've stayed at... large tiled shower with digital temperature controls, excellent water pressure from the large rain shower head, and, as a bonus, surround shower heads for that extra special something. I have never been excited by a shower or bathroom at a campground, but I made sure to shower before leaving because the experience was so zen. There is ample lawn space to play games, set up additional tents, and spread out for privacy, even during larger group gatherings. There are grills and grill tops by each fire pit making campfire or grill cooking easy, but delicious local restaurants just 10 minutes away also offer catering style menus that makie car camping and group gatherings even easier (the local BBQ and Italian were terrific). The grounds are meticulously kept and there are sturdy bear boxes to protect food and trash to help keep unwanted visitors from troubling guests. While we enjoyed some activities away from Cherryfied, we could have easily spent the entire weekend at the campsite. Not only are the grounds spectacular, but there is an easy walking trail to a lovely moss covered waterfall just steps away from the campgroud. The sound of the waterfall can be heard from the campground. It added ambient atmosphere and lulled us to sleep each night. The hosts were terrific and offered many suggestions for take out meals and activities. My only criticism is that the weekend went by too quickly. I did not realize how much my family needed an escape of this sort until we got the Cherryfield. I recomment Cherryfield without reservation. Take good care of this special place. We cannot wait to return.
