My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Neal Creek Primitive camping by the creek is located on private property. The two large campsites are approximately 300 feet apart and are located right beside the running creek. If you are looking for peace and tranquility in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this privately owned, primitive campground is a great place for your tent! Nestled in Medford Mountain at about 1200 ft., each creek-side slip has a magnificent view of the 1532 ft. mountaintop. Whether surrounded by spring blossoms or fall foliage, animal and leaf lovers often see turkeys at dawn and deer at dusk. Foxes and bobcats have also been spotted on occasion. It is important to note that bear and coyote roam freely on the adjacent mountaintop, although are rarely seen or heard. Proper wilderness precautions must always be taken while camping. Aside from the flora and fauna, one of the biggest attractions is the star-filled sky. On a clear night, it is imperative to take a break from your private campfire to appreciate the Milky Way. You may also enjoy the meteor showers in August and other celestial events. Not to be outdone, the day sky does not disappoint. If a pop-up shower passes through, a double rainbow is often left in its wake. In the surrounding area, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy during the day. In a half hour or less, you may go horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, tubing, fishing, hiking, and climbing. Public access to Lake Lure is less than 15 mi. away, but access to a lakeside road with amazing views is only a couple of minutes away. In addition, there is a little-known waterfall about 8 minutes up the street. If spending the day on site, be sure to walk the trail on the opposite side of the creek and hike up the hill for a different view. In addition, badminton, volleyball, ladder ball, cornhole, Yardzee, croquet, bocce, frisbees, footballs, board games and books are available for free rental. Plus, children may enjoy gem mining in the creek (for an additional fee). Of course, everyone can play Slapsquatch on the grounds for free. *Last minute decision? No worries! 7 nights at Cedar Grove Farm RV Site

The site was amazing and the only one allowing for great privacy. The site also has full hook ups, great water pressure and the star gazing was wonderful. Starlink had plenty of open sky to connect us to work with a 99.8% connection. We will absolutely be coming back while visiting family in the area. Thank you Chad and Julie for the amazing stay. We look forward to the next visit! 😊

Easy to find. The area was cleared well with nice trees for hammocks. The firepit was great and portapotty clean. Although there were other campers there, the spot still felt private. It was relatively quiet, some road noise.

Weekend Trip to Bigfoot Brook Campground

The Bigfoot campsite was perfect for the needs of our group of 8 adults and Regina's hospitality was amazing, including the laughs she provided when she came to visit. We enjoyed all the subtle things that have been done, the Sasquatch, the binder with all the info and the party poppers to throw in the fire that created the different colors. All made for an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this campsite and wish Regina continued success as she continues to evolve the site.

There was enough space for large tents and several hammocks. We caught several different fish. There is a small charcoal grill and a nice fire pit, swing, and picnic table. The privacy is nice, and it’s not a bad walk with your gear especially with a wagon. We are so grateful to this space so close to home and can’t wait to get back out there. Thank you for sharing such a lovely space.
