A real cool place in the middle of an urban setting, who would’ve known that you could have a waterfall and climbing rocks and a great place to set up your tent. Of course you hear traffic because it is in the city, but my goodness it was great.

I loved that the showers had hot water! They also had portapotties available and firewood for sale. Clean drinking water was available. The primitive sites had plenty of trees for setting up hammocks but be wary of brining any tents larger then a 10'x10' space.

Weekend Trip to Mtn. Magic Vintage Camper

My roommate and I loved the camper! It had 1 ac unit and 2 different fan systems so it was always cool in the camper! Even through the sunny heat! It was nice and peaceful! Susan greeted us and made sure we could communicate, after that she left us to our whole two night stay! The nights are amazing! You can see so many constellations even with a nice campfire, which Susan had all of the necessities for! We had amazing Hikes/trails nearby too with amazing views!

It is a really nice property with tons of shade. The amenities offered are really nice for a primitive style campground. Its a great place to bring the family, and best of all, dog friendly.

2 nights at Rustic Hillside Hideaway

I loved this place, but my girlfriend loved it so much I had to promise that we’d come back! Cute tiny house with AC and a clean bathroom, the hot tub worked well, nice thoughtful touches like some extra toiletries and coffee and tea, and the hosts graciously had a camp fire already going when we arrived. It’s nearby some good hiking, low light pollution so you can see the stars, and there’s even a few fireflies at night. I recommend.

Went on a last min camping trip and the host was very responsive when I asked questions! The site was amazing and super close to the common grounds with the grills and hammocks and THE VIEW!! 🥰 the portajohns were so clean and a short walk! Will definitely come back again!

This campground was cute. There were lots of helpful signs around, and the porta potties were very clean. Definitely check out the overlook at sunset. However, if you’re not cool with spiders this place is not for you!

I loved this place, if you have a small vehicle, go with clear weather. Each place has its picnic table and a fire pit. It is high up in a hill, you can see the starts with a naked eye.

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

It’s not the Ritz, but it’s not the Spitz”—Adin’s words when he welcomed us to this peaceful, private, camping the easy way, river escape. Total privacy the whole stay—we floated, relaxed, and never saw another soul, even with a campground down the road. We drove a front-wheel-drive truck with no issues, though after rain, the private entry turned to Carolina mus, so we used Adin’s driveway instead with no problem. Becky’s store to the right has snacks and firewood (no alcohol); Polkville to the left has groceries and drinks.

This campsite is well thought out! Magnificent views and large campsites! Showers, misting station, plenty of clean outhouses, hammocks and grills for those who want to travel light and even blazed hiking trails! Lots of bugs but what else can you expect? It’s hot and it’s summertime! Bring the proper gear and you’ll survive! Great communication and we even had wood delivered right to our site last minute!! We will be back for the fall colors!

We stayed here for the 3rd year this year. Still didn't disappoint had a wonderful view of the waterfall. The kids loved swimming all around and exploring. Swinging by the fire at night is my favorite. I would recommend this spot to anyone(and I have) it's close to our home but far enough to unplug and unwind. Scott is an amazing host, can't wait till next year!

Waterfall camping close to CLT

My Neighbor has started his own Campsite, "The Swimming Hole". If mine is booked up and you still want to camp, look him up. His is better suited for small groups but has much more privacy. We have a new road to the campsite; you can now drive down with two-wheel drive vehicle or RV down and park near your tent! There is plenty of soft sand to set up one tent or ten tents; large groups are welcome for an extra fee. A Porta-Potty is available at the campsite. Swimming is usually possible at the base of the falls; however, large amounts of rain can change conditions and make it unusable. I should also add, this is not a completely private campsite deep in the woods. The camp is visible from a shared driveway, and my residence is up a hill that overlooks the area. Also, I do not own the land on the other side of the stream. Occasionally, the owners of that land will spend a weekend afternoon enjoying the waterfall view also. Still much quieter and more private than a regular campground. Glamping tents and additional camping tents are available through a local company. Look in the pictures for the tent with red, white, and blue balloons. Message me for details. Close to US National Whitewater Center (mountain biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking), Kings Mountain National Military Park (Horseback riding and history), Crowders Mountain (Hiking), 3 miles off of I-85 and US-321 for people passing through.

Adin`s river cabin

My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

So bring your tents, campers or your small RV and come and setup down by the babbling creek. If you don't have or own a tent, we have a large 6-8 person tent available for a small rental fee too. Build a nice fire in the fire pit. The firewood and kindling is provided. The campsites are semi-wooded areas with plenty of shade. They are very large private, peaceful and quiet sites. View the stars at night, play in the creek during the day or if you are into biking or hiking, go to the Overmountain Victory trail located about 15 minutes away and enjoy the 6.7 mile loop around Lake Whelchel right off I-85. Local attractions: Biking, Hiking, Climbing and Horse trails - Kings Mtn National Park, Kings Mtn State Park, Crowder's Mtn State Park, Overmountain Victory Trail Segment - Lake Whelchel. Two Kings Casino is just a 10 minute trip right up Interstate - 85, exit 5 Convenient stores/restaurants within minutes from site.

If you are looking for peace and tranquility in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this privately owned, primitive campground is a great place for your tent! Nestled in Medford Mountain at about 1200 ft., each creek-side slip has a magnificent view of the 1532 ft. mountaintop. Whether surrounded by spring blossoms or fall foliage, animal and leaf lovers often see turkeys at dawn and deer at dusk. Foxes and bobcats have also been spotted on occasion. It is important to note that bear and coyote roam freely on the adjacent mountaintop, although are rarely seen or heard. Proper wilderness precautions must always be taken while camping. Aside from the flora and fauna, one of the biggest attractions is the star-filled sky. On a clear night, it is imperative to take a break from your private campfire to appreciate the Milky Way. You may also enjoy the meteor showers in August and other celestial events. Not to be outdone, the day sky does not disappoint. If a pop-up shower passes through, a double rainbow is often left in its wake. In the surrounding area, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy during the day. In a half hour or less, you may go horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, tubing, fishing, hiking, and climbing. Public access to Lake Lure is less than 15 mi. away, but access to a lakeside road with amazing views is only a couple of minutes away. In addition, there is a little-known waterfall about 8 minutes up the street. If spending the day on site, be sure to walk the trail on the opposite side of the creek and hike up the hill for a different view. In addition, badminton, volleyball, ladder ball, cornhole, Yardzee, croquet, bocce, frisbees, footballs, board games and books are available for free rental. Plus, children may enjoy gem mining in the creek (for an additional fee). Of course, everyone can play Slapsquatch on the grounds for free. *Last minute decision? No worries! Check out our equipment package for two. We also sell firewood and rent tents, hammocks and other equipment separately.
