We had a wonderful weekend getaway here. We were in an RV and appreciated the full hookup on the campsite. The separate bathhouse was awesome and a nice bonus. Sitting beside the river with a fire going in the fire pit was so peaceful. The host was very responsive and kind. We highly recommend this Hipcamp site and will be back!

We had the best time at this Hipcamp! The drive up was so fun. The space was very clean and well maintained. The only thing I would pre-warn people of is the strong winds up there! We were a little underprepared for those and it did get very chilly. Otherwise it was a beautiful, relaxing, and great weekend getaway.

We enjoyed our stay in Miranda's camper. Our kids loved the experience of sleeping in a camper, ample enough for a family of 4. We enjoyed the marshmallows Miranda had left for us to enjoy by the fire, that was graciously ready with firewood. The location is great as well, near to all the stores in Denver.

Great spot next to the river with facilities. There is still a lot of Hurricane Helene damage present. We tried to trout fish, but had no luck. Maybe next time....

Me and my wife used this site for a last minute getaway. The hoste was very informative and the site was clean with wonderful views. The platform was a plus, along with the outhouse. We do wish the outhouse had a spot to hang the toilet paper. We also liked how the host had hooks on the posts for us to hang things. We will be visiting this site in the future.

I had a fantastic time camping in the yurt! It was spacious with two comfortable cots, and the wood heater added a cozy, authentic touch to the experience. The location was easy to find and access, making it hassle-free to settle in. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, which was a nice bonus. I loved the little creek in front of the yurt—it was so peaceful hearing the water all day. The shed with EcoFlow generators was a thoughtful touch, providing a small charger for the yurt. Being completely unplugged with no service was refreshing! My dog had a blast, too. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and immersive camping experience!

This was my first ever glamping experience and i couldn’t be more happy about it. This camper is in a quiet wooded neighborhood. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Miranda and her husband(whose name i cannot remember for the life of me) were perfect hosts! They thought of absolutely everything to make my stay cozy and relaxing. Even when i had silly questions, her response time was very quick and she helped with anything needed. I also had my dog with me and even she said this was 5 stars. Definitely would recommend!

Farmer Sprout was a standout host—responsive, welcoming, and truly professional. From the moment we booked, communication was seamless, and any questions we had were answered quickly. Super cute spot! The host was super responsive. It rained a lot but I stayed dry inside the yurt. I suppose I should have expected it but the cots are, well cots, not beds. I’m glad I threw my sleeping mat in at the last minute. I slept comfy and cozy on a wet cold night.

What a great time unplugging from the world with my dog at this amazing camp! It was very well-stocked and there were very easy instructions for everything from the camp’s location to how to use the Ecoflow for lights! Location was pretty secluded, not too far from the road and it was cool to see the farm in front of the camp. My dog enjoyed the creek and the white noise from it was perfect for our sleep. Communication from the host was excellent! I bought some eggs and micro greens from them which was a nice add! Glad to hear they weren’t very affected by the hurricane and was happy to contribute what I could to the local economy.

Bigfoot Brook Campground

If you are looking for peace and tranquility in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this privately owned, primitive campground is a great place for your tent! Nestled in Medford Mountain at about 1200 ft., each creek-side slip has a magnificent view of the 1532 ft. mountaintop. Whether surrounded by spring blossoms or fall foliage, animal and leaf lovers often see turkeys at dawn and deer at dusk. Foxes and bobcats have also been spotted on occasion. It is important to note that bear and coyote roam freely on the adjacent mountaintop, although are rarely seen or heard. Proper wilderness precautions must always be taken while camping. Aside from the flora and fauna, one of the biggest attractions is the star-filled sky. On a clear night, it is imperative to take a break from your private campfire to appreciate the Milky Way. You may also enjoy the meteor showers in August and other celestial events. Not to be outdone, the day sky does not disappoint. If a pop-up shower passes through, a double rainbow is often left in its wake. In the surrounding area, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy during the day. In a half hour or less, you may go horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, tubing, fishing, hiking, and climbing. Public access to Lake Lure is less than 15 mi. away, but access to a lakeside road with amazing views is only a couple of minutes away. In addition, there is a little-known waterfall about 8 minutes up the street. If spending the day on site, be sure to walk the trail on the opposite side of the creek and hike up the hill for a different view. In addition, badminton, volleyball, ladder ball, cornhole, Yardzee, croquet, bocce, frisbees, footballs, board games and books are available for free rental. Plus, children may enjoy gem mining in the creek (for an additional fee). Of course, everyone can play Slapsquatch on the grounds for free. *Last minute decision? No worries! Check out our equipment package for two. We also sell firewood and rent tents, hammocks and other equipment separately. Your car is parked within feet of your deck so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some roofs are full size, some 2/3rds and some 1/3rd, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck has sun and rain curtains for helping keep comfortable in normal weather. Dogs enjoy a two gate system so quests and dogs can be leash free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned weekly. Lights and electrical is 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets fans, etc. I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low level string lights so one can see the night sky. Many of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, fickle solar shower and pop up changing room along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial wipes. I provide various size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away and All Trails is a great app for finding trails suited for your interest. Be respectful to the place and please be friendly to the people you meet. Learn more about this land: Private Glamping Decks with a view that pictures do not do justice. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well socialized dogs. Help me keep it dog friendly. Never block the road with a park car.

The Earth Center Camp

25 acres of woods, running creek and pond for fishing and boating. 4 wooded rustic camp-sites and two sites close to Office and Bathhouse with showers and toilet. Some supplies can be purchased at Office including wood for fires. You are also allowed to gather your own while it is available. Walk in campsites, we will four-wheel your gear to you. plenty of parking space on land. Located in the middle of farm land 30 minutes from Marion, Morganton or Rutherfordton. One hour from Asheville, Hickory and Shelby NC. Pets are allowed but must be maintained at all times as not to disturbed other campers. Some campsites offer multiple tent space for larger groups. (contact host for details) The creek that runs the length of the property is called "Hopper's Creek" It runs from Vein Mountain where gold was found. If you like to pan for gold, you can try your luck along our creek bed. Ask for more details when you check in. Cell service is a little sketchy here but we do offer a wifi hot spot for you to stay connected to outside world and a place to charge your phone. If you a motorcyclist you might have come to enjoy the motorcycle mecca of our area. One of the favorite and well known rides is “The Diamondback on NC 226A, starting in Marion NC. This ride is only 22 miles from our camp. There is also The Blue Ridge Parkway and Lake James Loop that includes “The Devil’s Staircase. Make The Earth Center Camp your base. We do offer long term parking for those who have trailered their bikes here. The Earth Center has plans to create an even more magical place with more amenities and sites (including Glamsites) in the future. Come be the first to enjoy the land and come back to witness the changes. Please carefully read details of each site when choosing your options of rentals as each site differs on number of guest and tents allowed. Our rates are discounted now so enjoy while you can! Camp Policy: 1.For your safety our gates are kept locked. Our business hours are 8am to 10pm. No check-ins before 8am or departures after 10pm.
