Melissa and Adam have a little slice of heaven at their Coweeta Creek Campground! Our Premium Campsite #1 was right by the creek and with plenty of space between us and site #2. Trees, bushes, and hostas keep the landscape natural feeling. And our dog loved playing in the water! Neighbors are a good distance away, which helps you feel like you're away from it all. The site had great access to wi-fi, power, and water as stated in the description. We only wish we could have stayed there longer.

If you’re reading this review, you don’t need to read any others! Quintessential, totally classic, green, breathtaking views, and impeccable hospitality in North Carolina farm country! Steve has thoughtfully planned out and anticipated every need you could have on his land. Shower, cleaning table, dry firewood, fire pit, a swing set for the kids, fenced in Hipcamp for the pets, soft, green and manicured grass surrounded with trees for privacy, away from the road, quiet, clothes line, electric, potable water - everything!!! Look no further for your next Hipcamp in North Carolina - enjoy so many beautiful places to explore within 20-30 minutes! Plenty of green grass - level - for tents also!

Patrick is an excellent host. Very attentive. Camp site was recently cleared nicely for our arrival with fresh cut grass. Toilet was clean and stocked with paper and hand sanitizer. Well marked camp with posted sign easily seen from river. Fire wood available. Amber responded immediately to questions on hip camp app. Patrick answered all questions regarding the camp site and river conditions.

Craig and Sarah’s property was an excellent spot. The location felt peaceful and secluded, with minimal noise from the highway. Surrounded by nearby wildlife, the area retained its beauty even in winter, enhanced by the comforting presence of the river. The site was clean, and the bathhouse was a great bonus. The owners were very responsive, promptly replacing a broken space heater in the bathroom, which was much appreciated. The hot water was a lifesaver during the harsh winter conditions. Additionally, the property was conveniently close to stores for emergencies, adding extra peace of mind. Overall, as a large family, we thoroughly enjoyed Craig and Sarah’s property and would gladly return, even after enduring the harsh winter event over the South during our stay.

Nice little spot with a beautiful view! We ended up cutting our trip short due to the cold and high winds but we plan to come back when there’s better weather! Definite mountain feels even though you’re still in SC. Not as quiet as we expected though. You can hear vehicles on the main road the entire time from the camp site but eventually it just becomes white noise. Overall, great experience!

Beautiful farm with ample space for camping and wandering. The lake was gorgeous Cows, llamas, horses were a big hit with the small kids. Very cozy distillery onsite perfect for a drink or two and watching the game on the TV. Chatooga Belle Farms has something for everyone. Indoor cabins, RV sites, or secluded areas for tents You will love this place!

Chattooga Belle Farm – They Built It! By Tracy McCoy I wonder if when standing on the sprawling in upstate South Carolina, just a short hour trip from Greenville, Ed and Kitty Land heard a small still voice say, “if you build it, they will come.” While there isn't a baseball field on the property, that's about all that is lacking. Chattooga Belle Farm began as an event building set on 138 acres with a small seasonal retail store. Soon people found their way to the soon-to-be full-fledged farm and they felt it; that feeling that you've found a very special place. Peaceful, majestic and unlike any other, Chattooga Belle Farm is quite possibly the perfect place for any event and most certainly an ideal place to pledge your heart and life to another. Since the Lands opened their doors in 2010 they have come. There have been families, couples, groups, the media and fruit pickers who have all visited the farm; and they return year after year. Having been written up countless times across the southeast, US and more recently featured on The Today Show, the farm just keeps growing and getting better. With a history of growing sweet juicy apples, the soil in this part of the world has proven to be excellent for peaches, muscadines, scuppernongs, and blueberries. The farm also grows exotic fruits like persimmons, paw paws, Asian pears, figs, and more! The landscape is picturesque and the mountain views are truly breathtaking in every direction. The farm hosts farm to table dinners that sell out year after year. Their U-Pick fruit opportunities evolve throughout the season with something always coming in from early summer through fall. A list of available fruit is updated often on their website, upcoming events and information about cabin rentals on Horseshoe Lake. The recent addition of a distillery on the farm means the fruit is grown, fermented, distilled and bottled on the farm. The distillery is open year round Monday – Saturday. ged in oak barrels and aged to produce some of the finest liquors made in these mountains. The farm store is complete with fresh produce (in season), canned jams, jellies and bottled ciders. Grass-fed, natural, antibiotic-free Black Angus beef is sold in the store. The cattle are raised on pasture which produces some of the healthiest beef you can buy. Using only natural, humane and environmentally sustainable practices, the Lands and their staff raise beef as nature intended. Bringing the best to your family has never been easier. Belle's Bistro at Chattooga Belle Farm serves salads, sandwiches, burgers and soups made with the freshest ingredients possible. The bistro is open for lunch Tuesday – Sunday from April – October. Coweeta Creek Campground has water, electric, and septic on Sites 1, 2, and 3 as well as a firepit and picnic table. The bathhouse allows for hot showers and flushing toilets. Site 4 is for tents or small pop-ups. Each site is gravel, shaded, and sits along the peaceful Coweeta Creek. The campground property has a large field for games (kickball, soccer, volleyball), as well as a flat 1/4 mile loop which you can view our mini homestead farm. We have chickens, bees, vegetable gardens, and a small fruit orchard. We recently added a 1/2 mile trail, called Turkey Foot Trail, through the wooded area. The campground is somewhat secluded (some neighbors across the creek), but only 15 minutes from Franklin, NC and 15 minutes from Clayton, GA with plenty of shopping/restaurants. Once you are at the campground you won't want to leave the beauty of the creek! Strong Wifi is available at all sites. Network password will be provided before arrival. Property History: Coweeta Creek Campground WAS a 20 site, thriving, family/church oriented campground from the 1970's that was later sold, then neglected. My family purchased in 2022 and are are opened a few camping sites for a more family friendly, intimate setting. *Please send us a message if you are interested in renting out the entire property for family reunions, birthdays, or other events. There is potential for 10 sites with water/electricity along the creek, but we don't advertise it!

This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest. Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded. Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability. Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards. We have lived in the valley of a farming community for 11 years now. We've been overwhelmed with the beauty outside our window. The view from your RV is acres worth of a working farmland surrounded by mountains. You might catch a farmer driving his tractor down the road, a person on horseback or a team of cyclist bike pass by. But you never know what surprise the sky has in store! Fortunately, we are a quarter of a mile from highway 64 that leads to everywhere, as in hiking, kayaking, mountain biking etc. We are centered between Pisgah and Dupont National Forests, Panthertown Valley, Bracken Mountain Preserve and Gorges State Park. We are in the heart of the cyclist route for all the major road bike races and less than 10 minutes from downtown Brevard, NC.

Family-friendly farm camping near Clemson guide

Overview

This college town on Lake Hartwell brings youthful spirit to the great outdoors. Home to Clemson University, the town has a small but busy downtown, parks, and waterfall hikes. The Chattahoochee National Forest is nearby, just over the South Carolina border. Campgrounds dot this eastern section of the lake, including in the nearby towns of Pendleton and Anderson. The US Corps of Engineers maintains several camps, including Twin Lakes and Springfield, plus Oconee Point and Coneross Campground across the lake. All offer RV sites and tent camping. Saddlers Creek State Park is the most popular lakeside camping area, with a fishing pier and waterfront sites. Clemson also has private campgrounds and RV parks, including options for cabins. Lake Hartwell is excellent for fishing striped bass. Rent a boat at the Clemson Marina, or launch your own at Twelve Mile Recreation Area, which has a boat ramp and picnic area. Many locals prefer Lake Jocassee for a swim. The lake is located about an hour north and has clear waters that stay cool year-round.
