Loved this campsite! It’s right by the lake with a beautiful view especially at sunrise and sunset. The spot was clean, quiet and perfect for a relaxing weekend. Great place to unwind, fish or just sit by the water. Alex has firewood at the entrance to the right under an open shed. I recommend grabbing some before you set up camp because it’s a good distance from the camp site. I thought that was a really nice bonus. Thank you Alex! Definitely coming back!

Alex's lake site was a great place to bring our rigs for a fishing weekend. Other than a few fallen trees the site was clean and quite open. The lake had fish jumping the entire time we were there and was smooth as glass. We managed to actually catch a few.
Only a few things to note:
-It's on / near a farm. So you better be used to farm sounds (cows, roosters, dog pens, gun shots). And seeing an occasional side by side or 4 wheeler isn't unheard of.
-While our overland rigs were more than capable of making it to the campsite I would NOT recommend a passenger car. The farm road isnt well suited to low-slung vehicles and even the entrance near the paved road might be a bit of a challenge to a car to navigate
- There is a metric ton of firewood right after you get on the path to the campsite. Even though we brought our own we ended up using and splitting a few cords from the pile (Thanks Alex!)
-Site 1 is at a ~3 degree slant so you may need to plan to level out a rig or sleep with your feet pointing downhill.
Overall the site was great. Perfect spot to get away for a bit and fish. We had 5 campers total and had AMPLE room to spare. I can see at least 10-15 fitting there comfortably. I would absolutely camp here again

Absolutely awesome campground, beautiful scenery, very quiet and relaxing. William and his team go beyond to make your stay comfortable and are super accommodating. This place is a gem set in the heart of scenic Georgia, very close to all the vineyards and beautiful little towns close by. There was a large mowed plot waiting for us when we arrived complete with stone fire-pit, tiki candle, then William brought us a bundle of wood for the evenings fire. We sat and watched the Eagles that nest here dive down to catch fish from the beautiful stocked lake on this property. We would come back here in a heartbeat, we think this is going to become our goto campground for many years.

🌿 5 Stars for the Owl’s Nest in Clarkesville, GA! 🌿
We just returned from an unforgettable 4-day stay at the Owl’s Nest, and we can’t say enough good things about this little slice of paradise. Tucked away in the beautiful Blue Mountains of North Georgia, the property is peaceful, private, and absolutely gorgeous — the perfect spot to unplug and unwind. 🌲
Our host William was fantastic — incredibly accommodating, hospitable, and friendly. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel right at home and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The site is well-marked and easy to find: just follow the Hipcamp signs — the parking lot is on the right , and the clubhouse is on the left. When you see those landmarks, YEP — you made it! 🙌
We spent our days hiking to waterfalls (Hemlock Falls, Anna Ruby Falls, Unicoi and Moccasin Creek State Parks), watching ducks and hawks, and soaking in the peace of the woods. 🦆🍃

I loved this hip camp I even extended my night an extra day! I enjoyed the water views and that it was very peaceful. It very close to Helen, Unicoi and other places to hike or explore so awesome location.
I am not really sure how it’s set up though….if the lake site numbers matter or if it’s just first come first serve but I enjoyed it.
The owners and other people that live on property were nice! And they have a full kitchen thats shared with the people who live there and bathrooms shared with them as well.
For a campsite it’s nice amenities. Also includes free fire wood which is awesome!

What a beautiful and amazing place! The campsite is peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature — the perfect escape from the busy world. Everything was well-maintained, and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. The owner was super helpful and welcoming, providing clear directions and support whenever we needed it.
