Weekend Trip to Harmony Glen

June greeted us along with her furry friends. The land was gorgeous to walk around on. Wish we could've stayed more than 1 night but would look this place up to stay again. One thing to note on the driveway, we have a 23 ft RV and it was narrow for us with a tall leaning tree on one side and bushes.

3 nights at Little River Hideaway

Not a bad spot with full hookups, wi-fi, and convenient to a nice area in the mountains. We visited some waterfalls and the town of Brevard on our stay. We didn’t quite expect to be visibly right next to a house through a small patch of trees, but the neighbors were extremely quiet and we didn't even know they were there. We even parked our truck so as to block the view of the house. Being that it was spring , there was a little activity in the community garden across the small entrance, but nothing bothersome. Our first night, we enjoyed a stroll through it to see all the pretty little garden “lots”. The stream down the little path is also pretty, but there’s not much hang out room, so we didn’t find ourselves down there much. We did enjoy having the picnic table on site and the host had great communication via Hipcamp, I felt like if we needed anything they would be responsive. If we wanted to return to the area, we would definitely stay again.

1 night at Serenity on the Saluda

We were so lucky to find this spot last minute — and it turned out to be perfect. The site is perched on a beautiful, secluded hillside with total privacy. Our dogs loved it too — being able to roam off-leash was a huge bonus. The host was super accommodating and quick to respond. Firewood was available to pre-purchase and was delivered to our campsite!!

June has a wonderful spot to camp or park a small rv. As an FYI, I have a tall roof long wheelbase Sprinter, and I wouldn't suggest trying to fit anything any bigger down the driveway.

Weekend Trip to Nero Coffee Camping Spot

What a phenomenal trip! My friend and I camped out at Katlyn's group camping spot. Her in a tent and me hanmocked in the trees. It was so beautiful and peaceful! Katlyn was out of town, but sweet enough to offer us use of her bathroom for showers, etc. and the coffee setup in the kitchen was great! So many options.. drip, French press, pour over, etc. It rained like holy hell overnights, but we still really enjoyed ourselves, and the hot showers were amazing! Also, the A frame looks super cute... Can't wait to stay there next time!

Hot showers, beautiful woods, sick trails, and even a hot tub all hosted by super nice folks. Good times!

Weekend Trip to Bell’s Scenic RV Pasture

This was our first RV camping trip. We enjoyed the location. Very calm and pleasant. Close to the many things to do in thee Bevard NC area. The large fenced area is great for dogs. They got to wander and sniff as we set about making coffee and other camp chores.

David's farm was very beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed walking to the horses each morning. Both David and his wife were very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful spot by the river. We paddled in on the French Broad River Paddle Trail, which is awesome. This was a great spot that is very well maintained.

Weekend Trip to Little River Hideaway

Loved our stay with our little camper and two dogs. It was nice and clean. The raised porch was perfect us to place our 12x12 canopy over to escape from the rain and sun. Nice groomed trail down to a private water spot on the river. We will def be back!

Very cool, secluded camp spot in the forest. Communication and instructions from the host were great, would highly recommend. Even had a short visit from the big, fluffy white dog, was friendly, sniffed around for five minutes then mosied back to the house. If you’re in a 4Runner, truck or campervan make sure you have a way to level out your rig. Thanks!

We loved our camping experience on John’s land. It was peaceful, beautiful. We had all the privacy and seclusion we wanted while at the same time, John was available if we needed anything. we camped on the hill top and at first were bummed that we couldn’t be at the Riverside, but once we got to our campsite, we loved it. We could still hear the river and had a beautiful view of the sunrise. would definitely stay again.

EXCELLENT property. Quiet. The host, John, is friendly and accommodating. Directions are accurate. Property/sites are easy to get to. Both tent sites are directly on the river and spacious. Plenty of trees for shade. If you are looking to fish directly from your site- chose Tent/RV site or there are fishing opportunities further down the bank. I will be returning!

Weekend Trip to Serenity on the Saluda

The site was scenic right by the river and we'll set for a couple of tents. Awesome views and quiet surroundings. No camp sites were directly adjacent so you won't feel like you're in a group camping environment (like state parks). Super easy to get to. Thanks and I look forward to visiting again.

Weekend Trip to Pisgah Riverbend

Patrick is a wondeful and accomdating host. Site 2 was beautifully shaded just as the picture shows. There was a good amount of rain before and during my stay. The recommendation for 4WD is a fair one. It set and met my expectation, and met that expectation. It's of course relative to your comfort level. I had my minivan and was ok. Thank you for sharing your space with us.

Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is always recommended. Message us with any questions. Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. No tents allowed here, but it's a peaceful alternative to a cracker barrel parking lot. ----- Once you set up camp feel free to visit the Coffee Shed - It's a small shed on the property by the house that has everything you need to make a great cup of coffee. Coffee is always free. :) I have fire pits, tables an, if I am home, I have a super cute corgi that roams around the property throughout the day. If you spot me outside feel free to say hi or ask any questions about the area. I love helping guests find new places to explore. You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :) ------- Larger group? Want an indoor bath and shower?? If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. Most of our 12+ acres are wooded and our property backs up to thousands of acres of public forest land owned by Clemson University. A trail connects our backyard to the main network of hiking/mountain biking trails in Clemson Forest. For those familiar with the forest, our property is in the vicinity of Wildcat Technical, Wounded Road, and Chainbreaker trails. As private and wooded as our property is, we are only 10-15 minutes from downtown Clemson and less than 10 minutes from the small towns of Central and Six Mile. Lakes Hartwell and Keowee are also short drives. We currently offer a single campsite, which can accommodate several tents or a camper van. Our campsite features a composting toilet outhouse, and water is available from spigots at our house. Though fairly close to our house, the campsite has a very private feel due to being completely surrounded by a hardwood forest.

Overview

This college town on Lake Hartwell brings youthful spirit to the great outdoors. Home to Clemson University, the town has a small but busy downtown, parks, and waterfall hikes. The Chattahoochee National Forest is nearby, just over the South Carolina border. Campgrounds dot this eastern section of the lake, including in the nearby towns of Pendleton and Anderson. The US Corps of Engineers maintains several camps, including Twin Lakes and Springfield, plus Oconee Point and Coneross Campground across the lake. All offer RV sites and tent camping. Saddlers Creek State Park is the most popular lakeside camping area, with a fishing pier and waterfront sites. Clemson also has private campgrounds and RV parks, including options for cabins. Lake Hartwell is excellent for fishing striped bass. Rent a boat at the Clemson Marina, or launch your own at Twelve Mile Recreation Area, which has a boat ramp and picnic area. Many locals prefer Lake Jocassee for a swim. The lake is located about an hour north and has clear waters that stay cool year-round.
