Site 25
We paddled into Pisgah Riverbend to camp at Site 25 and were a bit disappointed with the official take-out. We had 4 kayaks and could basically only land 1 kayak at a time, unload it (carrying all the gear up the steps), then finally bringing it up the steps before landing the next kayak. We found that the river access at at Site 26 was much more suitable for loading/launching the next morning.
We enjoyed the fantastic fire-ring and picnic table within Site 25, burning 2 bundles of wood that they had available for sale nearby.
We had to be careful of the poison ivy that was present (as to be expected) around the perimeter of the campsite, but it was also present (a small amount) right in front of the firewood shed.
While the site and campground are quite far from the entrance (1 mile according to the details), it's actually quite close to a road across the river that's relatively busy.
Overall, it was a tough day on the water as we paddled 16 miles that day starting from the next campground upstream. It was awesome to swim/bathe in the river after setting up our site. We didn't have any luck fishing there, but we're not very good fishermen.

Great spot for camper van; private with trees for the hammock. Dog enjoyed walks on your road and by the cornfield.

Spot on the River
We had such a great trip! Upon entering, you’ll drive past rows and rows of corn before pulling up the camping spots. It was very easy to find and each spot was clearly marked. We loved staying in the back, which was a hit further down the road from the front spots. We drove in with a Chevy Express van (no 4-wheel drive) and made it in just fine, granted there hasn’t been lots of rain lately although it was lightly raining that day/overnight. Spot 23 has a nice little alcove where we set up a hammock and van camped. The picnic table and fire ring were clutch and both well used. No matter what spot you stay in, you’re very near to the porta potty and fire wood spot. The back camping spot opens up to a large field which was great for walking the dog around, it also has direct access to the river and the pull out spot for boaters. We booked this spot on a whim, wanting to get out of Asheville for the night and received access instructions right away with fast response time from the hosts. Located in close proximity to Pisgah and DuPont, even closer proximity to two breweries. Lots of options for food and shopping near by if you prefer to eat out. High recommend this spot, we’ll be back for sure.

Great communication with owners. Easy to find and access. Conveniently located near Brevard and the national forest. Fire flies are great!
