The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing, hiking and canoeing. Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters. Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels. There are bike lanes on many of the major roads. We've personally found it to be super fulfilling to distinguish our real desires and needs, from the ones we've been groomed to pursue. I stayed at Heart of the Lowcountry while exploring Beaufort & couldn’t find a better location that was so close, especially with electric hookups at a reasonable price. The site is near the main road, but I didn’t hear much traffic at all during the night. There’s a huge open space perfect for walking my pup & stretching your legs. My neighbor was incredibly friendly—she even introduced herself & offered me dinner since I couldn’t find any fast food nearby, which was such a kind gesture. A thunderstorm rolled through during my stay & soaked the ground, making it a bit messy to walk around, but it didn’t take away from the peaceful vibe of the property. Overall, I had a great, quiet night & would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience and highly recommend camping here. Curt was very responsive and helpful, and he sent clear instructions before our arrival. We arrived after dark, and he personally came over to help us get oriented to the property and its amenities. He has done an incredible job. Every detail is not only well executed but truly artistic. Curt clearly cares about the experience and goes above and beyond with his hospitality. For context, I spend over 100 nights a year in my camper van and have stayed in many places, and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Final word: great value and well worth the price

We're Charleston locals and wanted to do something fun and spontaneous and be out in nature. We took our SUV out there, spent the evening grilling steaks over the fire, enjoying the hot tub, and watched a movie in the gazebo before sleeping in the back of our SUV. This place has everything: - firewood on site to purchase - water and electrical hook ups - high speed internet - Smart TV under a bug-screened gazebo, so you can eat and chill while watching a movie - fully furnished bathroom with a washer/dryer if you need to run laundry or just dry off your towels after the hot tub - outdoor shower with hot water It was a really cool date night and gave us a chance to get away from work and the city for a quiet night by the fire

Last couple times we only saw the livestock from a distance, this time they came up and introduced themselves too us as they were checking on camp. What a pleasant experience to have morning coffee with a ?mini? Donkey. :)

The property really shows their background in furniture design and building. Loved the bath house/ toilet he built . The free range chickens and the solar panel areas were a great design feature. The Sanctuary at Edisto river is amazing! I originally booked just a few days during Christmas, but I loved it so much that I extended my stay through New Years. Dustin was very welcoming and engaging, while also giving us space to enjoy the property. My favorite parts were: - The beautiful outdoor shower with a rain shower head. - Access to FREE laundry in an inviting and well designed bath house. - The Gazebo was fabulous! Loved relaxing on the sectional couch while watching TV and enjoying the beautiful view of the river and large patio. I would 100% go back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique glamping experience.

Our stay at Heirloom Hamlet was nothing short of picturesque, morning fog coming up through the trees and an incredible old oak at the center. Our timing did not allow us to fully enjoy the property but that tiny bit we saw will definitely have us coming back. The dog has decided that this is her new favorite place and did not want to leave. The Small Bathhouse has some really nice touches that really showcase how much Curt and his family value hosting as well as creating a very eco-concious space that reminds us of the importance of all doing our part. One thing we do know- this may not be right for some folks and that’s ok, but definitely a place that we will visit again.
