The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Enjoy the private back acre of our 2-acre parcel. RV parking is separated from the main house by a barn and Morton building. Set up camp overlooking what used to be a grassy yard, but is now a walkable wildflower meadow. Enjoy the meadow paths and entire property's yard. Pets are welcome, but must be leashed at all times - our dog is friendly, but will also be leashed when outside. The house and barn were built in the late 1800s and are currently being restored. There will be no construction activity during your stay, but there may be assorted projects in process visible near buildings. Please do not enter buildings unless accompanied by a property owner. Greene Kitchen Farm has been farmed by the Greene family since 2013.  If you step back in time a few owners, the Kitchen family with 8 boys and a girl farmed the land that surrounds the little tributary to Montour Run.  The Greenes have been pasturing the majority of the land in nature's image with an eye toward biomimicry and an agro-forestal, savannah landscape.  The herbivores pulse through the landscape with flocks of birds following them.   Since the livestock have been fenced out of the creek, a little jewel of a wildlife refuge traverses the farm from northwest to southeast.  This riparian zones shades the creek, protects the water quality, and provides great habitat for coyotes, minks, eagles, white-tailed deer, groundhogs, hawks, squirrels, woodcock, and a variety of songbirds.  Greene Kitchen Farm camp sites are situated on this varied section of brook.      Learn more about this land:Bring your tent or park your pop-up along the spring at Greene Kitchen Farm. Let your children and dogs roam free without a leash. This property is remote and private. There are no neighbors nearby. This location is; twenty minutes north of I-76 Turnpike Willow Hill Exit forty-five minutes from Raystown Lake one hour and thirty minutes north of Gettysburg one hour and thirty minutes south of PSU three hours east of Pittsburgh three hours west of Philadelphia five hours west of NYC There is some cell service, but it is limited. Can you hear me now? Be sure to save site information on your phone before you leave, in case you lose cell-service. This is not Alaska, but it is not a KOA campground, either. We recommend you print of bring a paper map. Your GPS will not bring you to the exact driveway location. You need to be personally observant. This is the top of a mountain ridge. The access lane is steep, rocky, and has water erosion ditches you must drive over. Do not attempt this if you have a low profile car or a new/fragile camper. 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Low profile and fancy cars are not recommended. This camping site is for those who want to live ruggedly like Lewis Clark. To see the water ditches you must drive over, go to YouTube and search "Wilbur's Shed - Blairs Mills", and it is the account of a cat with a white face. This location is in a mix of farmland and mountain Appalachia. You will see common species such as chipmunks, squirrels turkey and deer. Many bird species. There are also porcupines, skunks, and black snakes around. You may also see black bear - it is rare, but possible. You are visiting wildlife species in their natural habitat. Please be self-aware of your own level comfort with wildlife. Once again, this is not an RVs park where you will socialize with a hundred other campers. This is primitive and isolated. This is an ideal camping spot if you want to escape from people. Nearby is the Tuscarora Creek which is excellent for trout fishing. The Tuscarora has a small but lovely window for kayaking from mid-March through the end of May. Please contact the host if you would like help to plan some paddle logistics. Rental through Hipcamp does not include hunting or the use of firearms, nor the use of dirt bikes and ATVs.

Great little spot to camp for a few days on their farm. Erin and her husband were great hosts. The camping spot is downhill from their barn and home. It is close to a road, but there's barely any traffic, especially at night. It's close to Lock Haven and offers great access to the PA wilds. What makes the site the most unique is the fact that they have full hookups and you park on a large concrete pad. I highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a clean, easy place to camp for a few days to explore the local area.

This site has everything, even though it's next to a road with moterate traffic, there's a big area that was mowed for the kids to play or for dogs to run, there's water, septic, electric, wood and it's shaded, it will handle big rigs, everything! We even saw a bear! We spent most of our time at Whipple Dam State Park that was around 2 miles from the site. We also enjoyed Green Wood Furnace State Park about 7 miles away, there's lots of hiking, fishing, swimming, everything in the area!

Our third time here and finally got to do some fishing just across the road. We visited the Amish Country this time and a couple of wineries, but most of all got time to just relax and recalibrate. Wow, what a great campsite and wonderful hosts! This is a truly special spot set on beautiful farmland, complete with a peaceful stream, a blueberry patch, and an amazing variety of birds. One of the coolest features was the fresh vegetable garden surrounding the campsite, which added so much charm and character to the experience. The setting was quiet, scenic, and relaxing—perfect for anyone looking to enjoy nature and unwind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will gladly return.

This is a paradise spot! Kevin keeps the property in perfect condition with plenty of firewood. Explored different state parks and hike around the area. Kevin also has trails on the property which was great after cooking dinner. I look forward to coming back and exploring more of the area! Kevin mentioned a placed called 1,000 steps, so that will be on the list next!

My wife and I stayed for a three-day weekend getaway. The space was exactly as described. There are two neighbors on either side but honestly we never seen either neighbor the entire stay. The area is beautiful, peaceful, and very relaxing. There is a very busy frieght train track a few hundred yards from the site. It was slightly annoying at first. But honestly, it really didn't bother us. There is a very nice fire ring and picnic table on location. The owner provided plenty firewood. The site was level and easy to access. I did a full day Kayak trip (5-6hrs). Put the Kayak in at the free McVeytown boat ramp and floated right to the sight. The Juniata river was beautiful and fishing we pretty good( 4-5 fall fish and about a dozen decent sized smallies.). Just be warned removing the Kayak was a little tricky, you have to pull/carry it up a pretty steep bank with a small set of metal steps. But totally worth it! Ben was a great host and rapidly answered any questions we had. We will be back many more times and would recommend it for anyone looking to relax with a beautiful view the the river.

We stayed here for our last third time.As always a great location to bike Pine Creek trail but this time we forgot out bike batteries and our host gave us some revommendatiins to see a great Amish greenhouse and ended up visiting sever other Amush businesses in the area. Just a great place to relax and recover. They also gave some great advuse for fishing up thr nearby creeks. Will be back to fish soon!

The whole experience could not have gone better. The site is near the road, which is convenient, but still secluded. It is well kept and has everything you need. The water, septic and electric are all newer and easy access. The owner, Kevin, made a point to stop by and introduce himself. We would definitely stay at the site again.
