This place is phenomenal. You can see that the owners really care, everything is so nicely made in clean like I really upgraded Hotel. The hot tub took me about six hours to get my desired temperature. Part of it was because I didn’t know. I have to close the door while it was burning. But after all, it was well worth the work! I have noticed over the years there are two types of places, one, is where the owner wants to make money and have no choice, but to serve so he can collect from his guest money. Two, an owner that wants to serve his guest, but has no choice and have to charge money in order to stay open and be able to serve more people The owners from this place are from the second category, they want to give and serve their guest. You can feel it in every aspect. Thank you

I loved Andrea’s place!! It was really nicely secluded and had everything you’d need for a glamping getaway. We have a really reactive dog who barks and gets anxious at the sight or sound of nearly anything and she was so calm at this cabin. We had no issues driving in our non 4WD car or finding the place, it was all very easy. We really enjoyed the fire and seeing the stars at night. I’ll definitely be back.

I booked our stay on Hipcamp. Nowhere on the site did it say you could not drive up to your campsite. Ferncrest’s own site says that but it was not on Hipcamp that I saw. That really was something that I was extremely disappointed in. The whole purpose of renting there was so that we wouldn’t need to unload all of our gear and reload it back up. We wanted to leave our camping gear in our truck and pull things out as needed. Although there was a driveway at the campsite and a perfectly good circle road around the campsite, Ferncrest had it blocked off and we had to bring all of our gear down to it with a wagon. We chose this to save ourselves from all of the camping hassles. So I personally probably would not come back. With that said … Ferncrest was AMAZING in every other aspect!! I would HIGHLY recommend it. The tent itself was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The view was exquisite!! The beds made us all want to stay in them. The owners were very thoughtful of the needs of their guests.

My husband, dogs, and I all had an amazing mini trip at Andrea’s cabin! Our dogs can be scared of strangers so we try to pick secluded spots and this cabin was perfect. We didn’t see any people, though we did hear dogs barking in the distance at night but that’s no biggie and my dogs we’re pretty quickly unphased. We did also hear coyotes not far away, so just be smart about camping around wildlife, as one should be! The cabin was so clean, the cots, outdoor shower/sink, grill and cast iron fireplace were amazing accommodations and there was firewood for sale as well. There’s also a hammock, fire pit & swing! We had an amazing time just relaxing in nature with our dogs and looking at the super bright stars! Our dogs had so much room to roam/run around and they had the time of their lives. Highly recommend this cabin getaway!!

The cabin is super cute, stocked with amenities (lighting, little power generator, fan, firewood), and located on beautiful private land. The shower heater worked great and didn’t run out. We had a fun and relaxing stay. FYI There’s no cell service once you get to the area, so make sure you know the coordinates for the cabin. The hosts live nearby and were able to guide us.

We had a great weekend at Brian and Joanna's Fern Crest Campground. It was a last minute trip for us. We booked a Dome with 2 double beds and a hot tub. (no King hot tubs available) We knew it was going to be a rainy weekend but that was ok because we just wanted to relax. We love the vibe of the campground and what Brian and Joanna have done with it and hope to see it continue to grow. The campground is not too far off the road so you can hear traffic going by but it wasn't to the point of being distracting. The domes were clean and adorable. The only thing that would have been great would be either hangers for the rack or some hooks near the door. We had umbrellas and raincoats and nowhere to really hang them up while they were wet. The retro ice cream and coffee campers were such a great addition and the woman at both, I believe her name is Sue, was so nice and personable. She was helpful with any questions we had and gave suggestions for things to do in the area. Because of the rain, we ended up pushing the beds aside in the dome and put our camping chairs up in front of the window and used the cooler that came with the dome as a makeshift table for us to play games on and eat from. The beds were comfy and the linens were soft and smelled fresh. The bathrooms and showers were also clean and the soaps, shampoos, and conditioners all smelled great. We will definitely be staying here again and hopefully bringing friends and family with us! Thank you for such a great stay!

Absolutely wonderful experience in the tiny A-Frame! A weekend of massive storms and lots of rain, but we still enjoyed every second. Felt decadent to be in the hot tub while it rained 😜 The AFrame and bathroom were immaculate and everything was easy to find and navigate. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was a projector in the house and access to movies and shows. The pond was beautiful, a real gem! Filled with salamanders and fish. Was way too cold to get in, but there was a paddle boat available and fishing rods. Highly recommended!! Thank you Jean for a fabulous stay!

Weekend Trip to Cabin Getaway

Highly recommend this quiet, cozy cabin!! It was the perfect place for our annual get away for my Mom and I during a rainy, cold Memorial weekend. Absolutely no issues getting to the cabin - even after lots of rain -the field was a little muddy in spots but completely manageable, and drive through woods was mostly gravel. Hosts had a fire started before arrival to take chill and dampness out of the air and dry firewood was available to purchase right at cabin. We were also pleasantly surprised by the portable battery (for charging phones or powering the pump to blow up air mattresses) and solar overhead lights. Porta potty was very clean, as was the outdoor kitchen area and outdoor shower. Cleaner amenities than most campgrounds and much quieter!!
