We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. Turtle Ridge farm is 35 acres of scenic beauty in historic Chester County, Pennsylvania. Secluded and private. Hiking and fishing available. Turtle Ridge Farms borders the Brandywine River and about 1,000 acres of woodland park. We try to be a unique host farm experience. We will have contactless check in available upon arrival. Campers will fill out the registration form on the front porch and then go to their site. A note about fishing. Fishing is available in the Brandywine River behind our farm, in Hibernia Park, at Springton Manor catch and release pond, and also at Chambers Lake in the park. 35-acre bucolic farm with goats, sheep, chickens and geese. Sites are near our one acre pond and each site has a fire pit. Our farm borders the 1,000-acre Hibernia Park with its historic mansion, extensive woodlands, hiking trails and along the beautiful Brandywine river. Lots of wooded areas, trails, rock outcroppings and beautiful scenery. The entrance to the park is through our farm gate near Site 2 and then down a trail. There is an indoor powder room with flushing toilet and sink for campers to use and a small camp shop. Wood is available for purchase. We are located 5 minutes from the hospital, 10 minutes from grocery stores, 30 minutes to Amish country and Longwood Gardens. We purchased our dream homestead in 2020, and we would love to share it with others as we build it to become bountiful and as self-sustaining as possible. It is not in the middle of nowhere....it's in the middle of everywhere! Learn more about this land: Camp next to a peaceful trickling creek just outside Phoenixville and Kimberton. We are a suburban oasis, surrounded by a little bit of everything.  Our homestead has plenty of activity including kids, dogs, and chickens, bees and goats! We have a fully wooded area available to explore across the creek, and weather dependent- the creek is a great place to stay cool. You'll see lots of growing fruit trees in our developing orchard and we are happy to share our vision for this beautiful land! We have two campsites available for you to choose between for your stay. Both sites are along the creek, however, one has a view of some nearby houses and is a short walk to the parking spot [Creekside]. The other site is more secluded, past the tree line, but a further walk from where you are able to park. [Hillside] If needed, we are happy to lend you a wagon to haul your gear. Please let us know if you have questions and your preference of site. We have a cabin-like bathroom and partial kitchen you will have access to during your stay. We always have cold water available for purchase in the fridge. There is trail access easily accessible from our home (the closest is approximately 1 mile), for paved or natural trail exploration. We are are a great stopping point for cyclists enjoying the area. It's a short drive to downtown Phoenixville with some of the best breweries around. Phoenixville is home to a great farmers market on Saturday mornings and numerous festivals. Also, close-by is the lovely quaint village of Kimberton, home of the best organic grocery store and many opportunities for hiking and small farms.

The camp sites on our farm are dry (for now) but we DO have a toilet that is cleaned regularly right by the sites. We have three leveled gravel RV/Camper spots, which are large compared to most campgrounds. The sites are pull through for most RVs and Trailers. We provide fire rings and campfire wood (assuming we have it available). Our farm is an operational farm with livestock and you will be camping right by our horse pasture. Our location is convenient. We are right off of I-81 and State route 22. Minutes from Hersheypark, Hollywood Casino and Penn National Race Course, The PA Renaissance Faire, as well as Ft. Indiantown Gap and Memorial Lake State Park. If you are a hiker, the Appalachian Trail is minutes from our farm. Our sites are easy access off the main road. We will be decorated for Halloween. We are currently working a scary trail. Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. Thomas was fantastic, we rolled in very last minute, not to mention in a new-to-us camper we had never slept in before :) He was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. I had an amazing time camping on Scott's property! Very peaceful! Multiple campsites , some in the open and some secluded. I felt extremely safe & alone despite a few houses being visible in the far background. This is a great place to solo camp or even bring kids. Please be wear there are hunters out and its alot of them. So you may hear gunshots and dogs but thats what the outdoors is all about! 10 out of 10 !

This is the second time camping here and it was just a wonderful as last time, even in the cold weather. I loved how 2 of the goats came to greet us and looked so happy to see us! Lovely place for a peaceful retreat for a chilly November weekend, even with a 5 year old. Sandy and John were such kind and welcoming hosts. The red cabin is an updated church camp cabin, with electric radiators and a modern wood stove for heat, a pretty cool composting toilet (indoor), sink+shower, simple kitchen with induction stove, and 2 bedrooms with linens and towels. Our 5-year old loved the tree house, fairy house, labyrinth, meditation stations, boat and Pooh's house and library. And we got really good at shuffleboard! Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

Fantastic stay! The farm is amazing and site #3 was beautiful. We had the perfect weekend. Host was very friendly and the communication was great! We felt very welcome. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is just a few minutes away and the site itself is nicely set up, very quiet and private with a picturesque view of the mountain. Highly recommend! We are already looking forward to returning.

Weekend Trip to Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

Our girls camping trip to Camp Dietrich this weekend was amazing. Scott met us upon arrival and gave us a full rundown of the campground! The checkpoint shed had everything we needed, wood was ready to buy, and the Coleman stove made cooking every meal so easy. The creek beside our campsite was absolutely magical, and yes, I even took a cold plunge. The tent was super spacious, comfy bunk beds, and the heater kept us warm all night. We hiked to the waterfalls on-site, which were unreal. Already counting down to bringing the kids this summer. Highly recommend, 10/10.

Our time in the treehouse was magical. It was my 13 year old son and I. He is 6’1” and he was able to comfortably sleep in the loft. Bill and everyone at Fairview Farms was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The stargazing was phenomenal; I highly recommend a dip in the hot tub under the stars. I would recommend bringing a heated blanket in the colder months. I brought ours and it was the perfect mix of cold and snuggly warm. There is a heater that works like a charm, with the blanket we only used it during the day.

2 nights at Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed for two nights at “a creek runs through it” and had a wonderful time. Scott was incredibly friendly and helpful. If you forgot to pack something, there’s a good chance you can borrow it from the check point shed. The site itself was gorgeous and very private. You really can “be one with nature” here. I look forward to visiting again once it warms up, to fully take advantage of the creek and some swimming. Highly recommend this place. Thank you to the Dietrich’s for a wonderful experience!
