From 1939-2020 our family ran a summer sleep-away camp for children on the farm, with an emphasis on caring for each other and the land. Located in a small valley at 1400 feet of elevation, our fields and woods are home to a broad diversity of native plants and animals. Our family has been caring for this land since 1926, but before European colonization it was home to the Lenape people from whom it was forcibly taken. Acknowledging this fact and working to expand awareness of Indigenous cultures and their rights is important to us. Nestled outside the village of Stillwater, NJ right across the Appalachian trail and the Kittatinny Mountain Ridge, Camp David sports three luxurious log cabins: > Bell's Cabin- Main cabin that sleeps up to six > The Chatham House- Sleeps up to ten > Chief's Cottage- sleeps up to ten All cabins have their own separate listing and can be booked together or combined. All cabins have climate controlled heating/cooling units as well as hot water. Camp David was originally a German hunting camp at the turn of the 20th century. It was later donated to the Boy Scouts in the 1940’s. By the 2000’s, it was left abandoned at which time I purchased it and began to restore it back to its true form while maintaining the cabin life integrity. I am a contractor and arborist by trade and the last ten years I have worked hard to bring the site back to life. The camp consists of 13 acres abutted by 100's of acres of state park land. There are two stocked ponds connected by a cascading stream, multiple fire pits with seating, furnished gazebo with wood stove, picnic tables, and multiple park benches located throughout the property. All lodging sites have heating for your comfort and are available year round! The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October. In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. Contact us to coordinate for larger group bookings. Please note that a significant portion of county tax/fees and cancellation or change fees may be avoided by booking the base amount of people (4) and at a much later date adding extra guests. Guests NOT occupying canvas tent (lodging) and bringing their own tents should not be paying an occupancy tax but there is no provision for this in the app. We do not want our guests paying taxes -- that benefit no one but useless bureaucracy! The Dyberry creek is stocked with many species of trout. And just up the creek, there is fly fishing only section! Plenty of hiking trails nearby. Breathtaking waterfalls at Tanners Falls are less than 2 miles from our campsite.

Plus the land was beautiful with the waterfalls close and our secluded campsite next to the stream. The pictures absolutely do this place no justice. The water is literally right at the campsites. Scott thought of everything he had things there for us to use that we did not even pack ourselves. The property is amazing The double waterfalls are just a short hike. It was the most peaceful reset that anyone could ask for. We will absolutely be back and recommend that you stay yourself

Weekend Trip to Daydreamin on Dyberry Creek

My husband and I had a great weekend at this site! It was so relaxing. A Perfectly secluded and a beautiful area. We especially loved all of the ferns and sycamore trees surrounding the site. Drinking coffee on the creekside, watching the fog on the mountain was such a lovely way to enjoy the mornings here. The tent was cozy and the veiw from inside or on the porch was just so peaceful. Ryan was a great, laid back host, with excellent communication and we really enjoyed how everything was set up at this site. We loved the nearby town as well. Honesdale has a great little main street, bustling with local shops and restaurants, really worth checking out. We completely fell in love with the area and will definitely be back!

Incredible setup and an amazing host! There were 10 of us and it was perfect. Right on the water, beautiful views, and everything you need setup for you.

3 nights at The Dam House At Beaver Pond

My boyfriend and I had a beautiful time at the Beaver Lodge. It is very romantic and private. On a clear night, you can see so many stars as you look up from camp! It's really special to have the pond in your backyard. It feels like your own secluded peninsula. We loved cooking by the fire, sketching on the dock hearing the frogs plopping into the water, and sleeping nestled together inside the spacious yurt. Brendan and Jessica thought about so many details to make sure we were cared for. They were responsive and helpful hosts. The Beaver Lodge was the perfect balance of being in nature and having our essential needs met. We felt one with the trees and as if time was given back to us. We hope to return some day!

Weekend Trip to The River's Edge

We had a great stay. The site was exceptionally well stocked. The hosts provide 5 gallons of water as I believe was described, but that won’t go super far if you’re doing dishes etc. the site is definitely a work of love with tons of random little details. The whole site is called slumberland at rivers edge if you’d rather book with them directly (which I’d do if I went back).

Weekend Trip to The River's Edge

We’ve spent an amazing weekend on the Sunrise tent territory. There is a plenty of shade so it’s not all under the sun, so not as burning hot as it would’ve been if it was under the direct sunlight. Water was freezing but I guess some people still swim there, a very rapid current though so be mindful. The host was very thoughtful and asked us ahead of time around what time we are coming so he could have everything set up before arrival time - we already had the dinnerware set up and lights on by the time we came. He responded very quickly and was very nice. The only two things to mention - the toilet area was not the best in terms of convenience but pretty clean and no smell. And the second thing - we saw a black bear walking across the river but obviously that is not pertaining to the premises or the host. So just an fyi. Overall, we all had a lovely weekend and would love to come back again!

Weekend Trip to Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek

Amazing weekend camping with my 13 year old daughter. Everything was clean and well equipped for a relaxing and adventurous few days. We even got to see a black bear! Thanks to Scott who is an excellent host. Absolutely will be back and highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Hippie Havens: A Groovy Retreat

I loved the Hippie Haven! It was such an amazing find in a quaint town with amazing host! From the drive qnd the scenery to our amazing set up. You can see how thoughtful our host set up the space intentionally. We had an amazing🌌 trip💮 here! Atmosphere and vibes are immaculate You curate a genuine space that is both intuitive and memory making!

Great spot about 15 yards from the river, great setup! Loved having the propane grill for cooking! The tent and sleeping setup awesome it was a windy weekend and the heater alone was enough to not need the stove with a few blankets. Thomas was super easy to communicate and an excellent host! Would definitely recommend this for a getaway weekend

1 night at Dude, Girl! Ranch.

Road tripping from northern New Hampshire and needed a place to stay, last minute request was quickly excepted by Jen with much relief. Jen's property is very nice and well maintained. The rustic post and beam cabin was cozy and comfortable, it even has a doggie door which leads out to a fenced in area. It also has a nice wood stove which came in handy on the cool and rainy evening. Jen was very friendly,communicated well and made sure all of our needs were covered. The the outdoor shower in the morning with hot and cold water was a bonus, would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
