We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports. The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site. We are "nice pet" friendly. Dogs should not be left in the cabin alone. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to mid September and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. No smoking is permitted in the cabin. The Weaverling House is a historic home, conveniently located along Route 30 in Everett, PA. This classic home was built in the 1800s and maintains its historic feel with modern amenities. The property is nestled in a wooded area for a great combination of accessibility and tranquility. Enjoy the shaded patio, glassed in porch, and comfortable living room areas. In the space surrounding, the home, we can accommodate tents or RVs with electric only hook up. All of our guests are welcome to use our recently installed HEATED POOL. Enjoy our beautiful courtyard around the pool and take a dip in the Aruba style fiberglass pool with tanning ledge. Pool depth is approximately 3.5-5 feet deep. The home can be rented entirely (4 bed, 3 baths) or by room. The master suite includes its own bathroom with shower and closet. There is 10 wooded acres behind the home with ample space to hike and explore. Our property is close to Allegheny River access with a local boat ramp in Reesedale, and a fishing pier at Lock 8. You can take the locks all the way to Pittsburgh from here! There are several ATV trails that have easy access because you can legally ride on the township roads! A lot of wildlife to see including deer, bear, fox, coyote, several bird species and bald eagles. We're close to State Gamelands for hunting. You're welcome to eat any fruit that has ripened here during your stay. The miles of ATV trails are also fun to hike, or ride your horse on. Campfires allowed, leashed pets allowed...must be leashed at all times...dogs, cats, horses, Bring your pets! There is a spring, with potable water, on the property. Beautiful sunsets here, plus an amazing view across Reesedale road. You might catch a rainbow too if it rains! Our personal favorite view is the vast nighttime sky... Perfect place for stargazers. Watch the beautiful sunrises and "moon-rises" over the tree tops. You can run generators anytime, but please be considerate of other campers. Very Private location. There is a bar/restaurant close by in Adrian. It's 10 miles to downtown Kittanning, where festivals and concerts in the park are held, plus more restaurants, stores, and rails to trails for bike riders. There are fishing ponds and large glacial rock formations nearby. Tours to the places mentioned can be scheduled for a fee if we're available. We will have a small map of the area with places marked. You're welcome to cut and use fallen trees. Please don't bring firewood from other counties due to spread of diseases and destructive insects. Me and my partner chose to rent this cabin for thanksgiving. It was absolutely fabulous, the cabin is so cozy, the composting toilet did not bring any smell, the shower was great, the bed was very comfortable and the view from the bed was the best part of the trip. I cannot wait to rent this again. Virgil and his wife were also very welcoming. I highly recommend renting this property.

Virgil & Pam really go above and beyond at The Fern House! The cabin was comfy and stocked with everything one could need for an extended weekend away. Our hosts were generous and gracious. They provide great communication and hospitality. We spent 3 nights and wish it could've been longer! Our pups loved the mile walk around the property each morning plus great hiking spots nearby. We took advantage of the fireplace, local eatery suggestions, and the loft was the perfect hideaway for resting and waking to beautiful wooded views. We cant wait to come back!

Beautiful campsite! We stayed at Tall Oaks and it was just as the others said - far enough removed from the other campsites and at the end of the access road so as to make it very private. The site included a grill, fire pit, trash bins, and picnic table which was immensely helpful! The only thing to be conscious of it that the main area to pitch our tent was relatively flat, but not perfectly flat. It was fine for 2 nights as long as you make sure you flip your beds around not to sleep on the downhill 🙃 All considered, we still LOVED this campsite and will absolutely return in the future!

Rebecca and her family were magnificent hosts for our family. They were so kind, and made sure we had everything we needed and more. The tent itself was so cozy and the bathroom very clean. We enjoyed making s’mores atvthe campfire and gazing at the beautiful starry sky. We even got to meet the farm animals before we left. It was a great to have our own private space and we highly recommend staying here!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Grouseland. Mason was a great host, he showed us our site and went over where everything was on a map. He and his family have amazing campsites with beautiful scenic overlooks. Their amenities all worked out perfectly - including your own private port a potty at each site (there’s also a camp house bathroom with shower - about a 5 min walk), picnic table, bench, charcoal grill, trash can, and string lights when it gets dark. It’s also a magical sight to see the mass amount of stars at night. We had a wonderful time and we will be back again. Thank you Mason and family for sharing your space.

We had the loveliest time and the hosts Eric and Vicki are tremendous. She brought us the best ribs and macaroni salad and potato salad out of nowhere as they had extras! Kind and sweet. . Land is gorgeous. Fabulous trails we explored w the dogs. We had a campfire and just relaxed for 2 nights w no cares other than wAtching the stars. We'll be back!
