This spot is best for a van camp location but plenty of space for tents and hammocks. You'll find a drive-up deck if you wish to park there. Firewood is available providing you use downfalls as kindling in the stone fire pit. A 8x20' deck and picnic table are 20 feet from the fire for stargazing. When the ferns are full grown they are 3 feet tall and everywhere. A 10 minute walk takes you through a dense pine forest with large rock formations and a nice creek with many gurgling fall areas. If there looks like a cave amongst the large rocks, then it probably is a bear den.
There is a lot to do near by. Some note worthy locations :
Cranberry Glade Lake (good for kayaking or fishing), Ohiopyle, 7 Springs, Fallingwater, Living Treasures, Caddie Shak, and Hidden Valley are all about 25 minutes away. This property also borders Laurel Ridge State Park.

-Please note, the campsite is located off a dirt road. Four wheel drive is recommended but not required.
- Hunting is prohibited at the campsite and the surrounding 10 acres, however hunters may be present in other areas of the mountain during the fall. Always be aware of your surroundings.

Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer.

Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups.
On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards.
For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent.
Campers must be less than 25 feet.
Generators are not allowed.
Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm.
There are no water hookups.
Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons.
Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350.
Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them.

My father tells stories of it being filled with guests all summer long! Over the years there was few upgrades and now it's in need of a facelift. Robert is a great host. He knows the perfect balance of checking on his guests and giving privacy. The spot was exactly as described and in a convenient location to bike the Ghost Town Trail.

The view from this site was astonishing. We had a really nice picnic table and the best fire ring I've ever had at a campsite. The site was huge and the trails were a lot of fun to hike. There was a little water issue when we got there ands it was repaired immediately. I can't recommend this one enough!

My grandson, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paradise at the Pond. This large camping area has wonderful vista’s of the farmland as well as the mountains behind. The owners keep firewood stocked and the grounds is well manicured grass. It’s a great place to relax and is just 15 minutes to Raystown Lake where we keep a boat. We’ve reserved 6 visits this summer and fall—just love the setup.

We camped in our tear drop on site 3, all sites would be great for tenting, small Rv or tear drop. It was quiet and the sites are huge! Lots of room for dogs and kids to play.

The site is close to the road, but also close to the restrooms which have showers and sinks. Site also close to the rec room with a ping pong and a pool table. This came in handy the evening it rained. The facilities were just back over a little bridge. Our group actually used four sites that came together as one and held the tents, pop-up shelters, vehicles and equipment trailer. It was our second stay in two years and both times it worked out great! Very close to museums, fishing streams, and both the Horseshoe and Altoona Curve.

Masons’ land was 12/10. Seriously. The view is incredible, the sun sets right over the mountain you’re staring at in the photos. There is always a nice breeze it seems. Just beautiful setting. It is also quiet. Down below where your staying there is a road where will hear some traffic but it doesn’t bother you really.
The accommodations are great. Mason has some firewood for us, there are string lights in the trees and your own private porta potty is a nice touch. The water and electric is awesome for the site. And the water out of the spigot is delicious well water. Reminds me of growing up.
I’m sure I could keep going on and on. Oh also the camp shower and bathroom is awesome have and a short walk! Mason greeted us and is a very nice host. We will stay here again.

Really beautiful quiet area at the edge of the forest. Clean restrooms with showers! A very peaceful and comfortable place to stay. Highly recommend.

My family and I have stayed before at the pond site. Once again it was a magical experience. The hosts are wonderful and the location was well kept. This has become a location we will plan to return to again. Definitely would suggest booking.

I had the pleasure of an extended stay at Jeff's camp so I am taking the opportunity to write another review!
Jeff is super kind, flexible and an awesome Hipcamp host. If you get to talking to him, he will share some incredible history and prior photos of the campsite area. He's put a lot of time and dedication into making this an amazing and relaxing retreat for folks. I was fascinated to learn some historical details!
The space is tranquil, private and has all of the basics anyone would need at camp. Not to mention there's plenty of room for a large group or for kids and/or pets to run and play (with staying cautious around the train tracks).
For anyone passing through on the bike trail it is not far at all and would make a great overnight stop. There are very nearby provisions in town (Smithton) at a little market.
For travelers there is an RV dump and hot showers (towels/washcloth provided) right up the road at Flying J truck stop. Walmart and groceries are about 10 minutes away in nearby Belle Vernon.
Some nearby attractions include Smithton Beach for swimming, Bloom brewery in West Newton (with some great pizza shops, Fox Pizza being my favorite), Vinoski winery, Round Hill animal park in nearby Elizabeth (good for kids), and if you're up for the trip, Kennywood amusement park or the city of Pittsburgh.

Great property in a convenient location. Emily is a responsive host and you can tell she cares about her land. Site 1 is not level but no big deal. I hope to stay here again in the future!

Beautiful remote camp site. Perfect for nature lovers who want to explore and hike local state parks or just to relax and enjoy an awesome view. Mason, the host, was very attentive. Wish we could have stayed longer but having a travel trailer camper with no dump facilities limited us to a three night stay. We were glad there were port-a-potties at each site and one flush toilet as well as a shower on the camp ground. We were were lucky enough to not only hear but to see whippoorwills near our camp site. The star gazing at night was amazing.

Jim’s campsite was awesome. Just a short walk to a beautiful creek, and the whole site felt private and peaceful. Everything was clean and well kept, which made the stay even better. Our doxin loved running the paths that were cut through the property. My wife and I had a great time and will definitely be back!
