From 1939-2020 our family ran a summer sleep-away camp for children on the farm, with an emphasis on caring for each other and the land. Our family has been caring for this land since 1926, but before European colonization it was home to the Lenape people from whom it was forcibly taken. Acknowledging this fact and working to expand awareness of Indigenous cultures and their rights is important to us.
While at the farm, besides the amenities listed in each listing, you are welcome to hike or walk around and explore our farm which has many acres of woodland, creeks, springs, a pond, and open fields. A hot day is a great time for a walk along - or in - the creek. A rainy day brings out the Red Efts - beautiful orange newts that are all over the woods when you know where to look. A full-connection RV site near Lake Wallenpaupack. It is within a campground that was formerly a “Jellystone Park” and is now comprised of privately owned individual lots for camper units. Most lots have seasonally occupied park model homes and large campers. The host’s part-time residence is next door.
The site is an open (no trees) level gravel pad with water, sewer and 30-40-50 electric connections plus high speed WiFi. There are tall oak trees adjacent to the lot. The site has a fire ring and a picnic table. Big Bear campground is gated for security (you will be assigned a code) and has an outdoor pool with shower house (summer only), a playground, picnic pavilion, and walking trails. There is a community dumpster. No store or services.
Shopping, eateries, ice cream, pizza, a brewery-restaurant, groceries and laundry in Hawley are within a 7 minute (3 mile) drive. The Lake dam at sunset is popular. The Beaver Lodge is a single-site glamping retreat tucked in the woods just outside Honesdale, PA. The site features two ponds and roughly five acres of quiet forest. In October, the surrounding hardwoods turn, and you’ll have a front-row seat to peak Wayne County foliage from your Adirondack chair or the waterside fire circle.
Our site sits beside Spinner Pond. You’ll arrive by a short wooded walk (about 3 minutes), or catch a ride in on the UTV — we’re happy to shuttle guests and gear.
At the waterfront, there’s a fire circle, Adirondack chairs, and multiple watercraft: canoe, kayaks, and a rowboat, all with paddles and life jackets. Fishing is excellent in both ponds — bass, pickerel, crappie, and panfish are active throughout the season. Wildlife watching from the pond edge is excellent: bald eagles, osprey, beavers at work, deer, ducks, and turtles are regular visitors. On a clear night, the sky above the pond is as dark as it gets this close to the Poconos.
Inside the canvas bell tent you’ll find a real queen-size bed made up with sheets, pillows, and blankets, LED camp lighting, and a footlocker stocked with cooking essentials: cast iron skillet, pot, utensils, and dinnerware. The site includes a two-burner propane stove with fuel, picnic table, and a fire pit. Potable water, a composting toilet, and a gravity-fed outdoor shower are all on-site. Optional extras include a propane Buddy Heater, two additional cots, and firewood bundles.
The camp is tucked behind our home, so you’ll feel completely private — no other structures in view. We’re nearby if you need anything, and we mean that. Past guests have called this the best campsite they’ve ever stayed at. We aim to keep it that way and ask you to practice Leave No Trace to help.
Dogs welcome off-leash on the property. Season runs April through first snow.

The campsite is nestled on a wooded knoll alongside Pohopoco Creek.
Featuring a 10' x 12' canvas tent erected on a wooden platform, furnished with a queen-size futon mattress atop a bed frame, we provide essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Guests can expect a battery-operated sprayer for rinsing off, battery-operated lanterns, tiki torches, a small charcoal grill, charcoal, lighter fluid, fire starter, and the first night's firewood. Additionally, a 5-gallon container of fresh drinking water and bedding are supplied. For extra campers, a secondary tent is available; however, extra bedding for this tent is not provided.

Camp Blackbird is a 28 acre property that runs along Beltzville State Park in Carbon County, PA. So besides the camp, there is an additional 3,002-acres of state park to explore. There are a total of 2 sites.
The land was vacant for decades and unfortunately used to dump household garbage during that time. We cleaned up the land, built a home and bat habitat. We, Sarah and Stein, always disliked renting a camp site somewhere and then ending up on top of people.
So it was our goal to make space on our land for campers like us that want to be surrounded by nature, not other camp sites.
A portion of the proceeds from your stay will be donated to bat habitat conservation and bat sanctuaries around the world.
We are grateful for the hundreds of campers that have stayed with us. Thank you to all of you that have left a clean site and not made unnecessary noise that would disturb the countless species that share the forest with us. Also, Thank You for patronizing local businesses while you are here.
We'll give you a map so you can see where to take a short walk to get to the lake.
There are miles of hiking trails a few minutes walk from your campsite.
Beltzville Lake is a great place for paddling. The boat launch is just a few minutes drive from Camp.
In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive.
The property is not suitable for parties or events.
The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding.
The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible.
VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party.
We welcome pets.

Laurel's communication was excellent and complete. We knew exactly what to expect and what to do in the area. Big Bear is a former campground that now seems to be all individually owned sites with very large or permanent rigs. It was very quiet - we saw very few people. The community bathroom was spotless. Our site was level and easy to access.

Jerry has a beautiful property and I am grateful we got to spend a weekend there. He gave clear instructions to find it. The property is large with plenty of space to explore. Also some wild life: saw a bald eagle, heron, deer, and my favorite the local beavers. The kayaks were especially a great touch. We had an awesome time and hope to visit again in the future!

Lovely. Located on beautiful grounds. Perfect camping cabin. FYI, there are no provisions. No coffee, no sugar, no paper towels, etc. You have to bring everything in. Like a campground basically.This is not a complaint- but important to know. Plan ahead.

Hands down the best camping setup and the best host we’ve ever encountered!
As frequent campers, our group is used to roughing it and doing without, but Cat’s Camp blew every expectation out of the water. It was everything we hoped for and more for a 5 day/4 night Labor Day Camping Trip.
Vincent is a top-tier host; stand-up guy, helpful, and exceptionally communicative. He answered every question via the app in under 30 minutes. When we asked about firewood beforehand, he arranged to have a half-cord delivered directly to the site before we arrived so we could immediately dive into the campfire vibe.
To top it off, he brought in an extra porta-potty to comfortably accommodate our group of 12. And trust me, we put that Porto through the wringer! (See kitchen review below).
Standout Highlights:
The Kitchen - The lean-to has a fully STOCKED kitchen that we put through SERIOUS work. We cooked up everything from scratch - gumbo, pumpkin chili, tacos, breakfast burritos, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, fire-smoked eggplant, hanger steak, Italian hoagies, and grilled cheese. It handled it all effortlessly.
The Bathhouse - LEGENDARY. The ingenious, homemade setup with a keg mounted over a propane burner for hot showers is pure genius.
The Atmosphere - Incredible elevated views from the top of the site paired with the soothing sound of the babbling brook made the whole trip.
Vincent is officially the gold standard for hosts. We can’t wait to come back!

Scott and his wife were lovely hosts and everything was exactly as described. Pictures don’t do the beauty of his land justice-my highlight reel was a variety of beautiful mosses, mushrooms, quartz-embedded rocks, and even a hummingbird came by! Our three year old was obsessed with all Scott’s vehicles, particularly the side by sides, and he graciously indulged his interest. This was a great way to keep a toddler busy spending his time outside exploring in tiny hiking boots, building fires, and learning all about coexisting with wild animals and nature instead of playing with toys inside. I loved having a break from being the entertainment. The watering hole and waterfalls were definitely a must visit, and don’t let the cool water deter you from getting in a tube. The whole setup made it so you could just bring yourself and some food. He even had games and books you could borrow. Thank you for a truly memorable weekend.

We just stayed for two nights and we are already planning to book in for next summer for a longer stay. Two days is not long enough at all to utilize this stunning hidden gem of a campground. There is nothing I can add that hasn’t already been said in the 200 plus glowing five star reviews. Just know that every single review is telling the truth and don’t walk but run to book in here. We can’t thank you enough Scott and Christine for the most memorable camping trip!!

2 nights at Camp Dietrich on Bear Creek
what a beautiful place ! both scott & christina met us at the entrance, helped drive our bags down, and showed us everything we could possibly need to know. everything you could need was either supplied at the site or at the shed at the entrance:)
the waterfalls and hiking trails were some of the best i've seen, and the service & care was also better than i could've imagined !!
you could never run out of things to do there - we will definitely be returning:))

My family couldn’t have asked for a more perfect trip. Scott and Christine are the absolute best, day one welcoming us and treating us like we were old friends. The site itself needs no selling. Feet away from running rapids to the huge spacious site. Every inch is amazing, you don’t need to bring a thing they have literally have all the supplies (except food) you could possibly need. The tent already onsite was amazing feature with queen bunk beds and tons of room. Our 3 year old had a blast exploring the different paths, doing all sorts of adventurous things like crossing the rope bridge and finding the cave, swimming up to the waterfall (in swimmers) and catching all the salamander’s, but most important getting away from technology and being in nature.
My wife couldn’t believe the details. Truly beautiful! The picnic tables, storage boxes for food, the tent, and all the accompaniments.
We will be booking our next trip as soon as possible. Can not recommend Camp Dietrich enough.

Nice place to camp for a couple nights. The land is close to a lot of Pocono attractions. I was surprised there were so many stores and restaurants in walking distance.

The campsite was amazing, I stayed there for 2 nights and enjoyed every second there. The water in the creek was cold but we were still able to go for a quick swim. We were a group of 7 and everyone had a great time even with the rain.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a private get away.
